Ch Nedavir Notorious Paul Netherwood 1964 - 2010

Paul Netherwood 16/2/64 - 12/1/10

We only met Paul about two years ago at one of our first breed show's, he could see that we were a bit out of our depth and offered us some help. Paul being Paul said he did not want to step on anyone's toes but he would be around if he could help. In such a short time Paul became our friend and we kept in touch regularly. We have a lot of respect for Paul and we are proud to say that we knew him.

To Kerri
Don't think of him as gone away-
his journey's just begun,
life holds so many unseen steps
and this earth was only one . . .

We used to have a bit of banter about various things, all in good fun. Liverpool Football Club was a topic that
always came up, he was good supporter of the Reds.

Paul was such a nice man. He would always have the time for a chat with you, and with a warm smile.

Paul Netherwood's service took place today at Chester Crematorium, Blacon Ave, Chester.

Hundreds of mourners lined the way into the crematorium which filled to capacity all of the seats were taken with people standing four deep on three sides with many unable to get in. There were people from all over the country including Ireland who had come to pay their respects to Paul; a magnificent tribute in itself.

The order of service was conducted by The Reverend Keith Howard.
Mourners were greeted with Louis Armstrong singing " We Have All The Time In The World "
There were some opening prayers by the Reverend, Psalm 23.

Paul's very good friend Niall O'Gorman then quoted some Proverbs. This was followed by Psalm 121 and 1 Corinthians; again led by The Reverend Howard.

Paul's Wife Kerri then recited a beautiful poem as a tribute to her husband.

Following on from Kerri's poem more music was played, this time it was the song " Hero " by Enrique Iglesias.

A further tribute was payed to Paul by myself, with more prayers and a final tribute concluding the service from The Reverend Howard.

The service ended with a final song from Gerry And The Pacemakers; " Ferry 'Cross The Mersey "

After the service there was refreshments at the Groves Sports And Social Club with many who had been at the Crematorium going back to there. There were lots of conversations about Paul all reminiscing the good times.

Kerri would like to thank everyone who has offered support and kindness over the last four months. Paul especially appreciated this realising just how many friends he had and how friends and family pulled together for him, his wife Kerri and children Shannon and Robbie.

BREED NOTES 14-12-09

Paul Netherwood telephoned me today and asked me post a message from him that he is getting married today at 3pm,
to his partner Kerri Maine.
They have been granted special permission to be married at home due to Paul's condition. There will only be very close family members attending the ceremony.

Speaking to Paul one can only admire his Stoic and Pragmatic outlook about his condition.
Fate has dealt him a cruel hand. A Very Brave Friend.
