LAKELAND JUDGE NAT TERRIER 09

Lakeland Terriers

I was more than delighted when my chosen BOB went on to win BIS & my BP pulled out for further consideration. Both line-ups were impressive with the quality of their exhibits & the fact that the Lakelands were numerically among the smallest of entries must show the quality of the breed.

MPD (2)

1 Leadbeater & Kerrigan’s Leadstaffs Sensation, 6 months, cute little fellow, mischievous expression, good shaped head, dark eye, correct ear placement, nice length of neck, level back, good tailset, straight front, well placed shoulders, lovely texture jacket for his age, presented good profile, moved really well for such a youngster, should have a good future. BP;

2 Greenway’s Rayfos Mickey Rooney, 9 months youngster, no outstanding faults. Preferred general outline of 1 & needs more ring practice as his movement was somewhat erratic.

JD (2,1a)

1 Matti & Omitogun’s Louieville Red King in Frontline, red as his name implies. Good eye & mouth, fair head & length of neck, level back, good tailset. Reds are not the easiest to keep in good coat but is was of good texture & nicely presented. Movement could be more positive.

LD (4,2)

1 Manser & English’s Nujax My Way, good head, bite, dark eye, correct ear carriage, really sharp expression, good length of neck, straight firm back, good tailset, nicely angulated front & rear, good substance & muscle, well presented. I would have preferred a touch more coat. Presented an attractive outline & moved soundly. RCC;

2 Kenyon’s Wyndam Blackjack, neat head, good bite, dark eye. Could use his ears to more advantage. Moderate length of neck, firm level back, shown in good condition, moved well.

OD (4,1)

1 Connell & Callon’s Sonorra Spellcaster, caught the eye immediately, super head, bite, eye & ear carriage all good, really wicked expression, straight front, well laid shoulders, reachy neck merging into level back, tail on top, strong quarters, good turn of stifle, moved soundly, excellent presentation, well balanced throughout, very smart young man. CC. I heard later that this win gives him his title;

2 Greenway’s Rayfos Buckskin, red, harsh jacket, good headpiece, bite, eye & ear carriage, level back, straight front, good shoulder placement. Standing looks the part but his movement wasn’t as steady as it could have been;

3 De Munter-Uiterwuk’s Fireflame von Foliny Home.

MPB (3,1)

1 Greenway’s Rayfos Hawk Leaf, 8 months, mischievous expression, good mouth, eye & ear carriage, moderate length of neck, level back, good tailset, straight front, good turn of stifle, nice jacket & condition, moved reasonably well for her age;

2 Jones’ Saredon Unvieled to Mikeland, just over 6 months, sweet expression, good head, bite, eye & ear carriage, straight front, level back, tail on top, very nice outline. Let down badly by her movement which should improve with practice.

PB (3)

1 Davini’s Nujax Under The Influence, 11 months, very steady youngster, excellent outline, good head, eye, mouth & ears, nice length of neck, level back, nicely angulated, good coat, moved soundly, very well handled;

2 Barratt’s Kilmarth Andromeda, very attractive 11 months, similar remarks as above apply. Could change places, unlucky to meet 1 in such good form;

3 Thompson’s Brocolitia Red Rose.

JB (1)

1 Johnstone’s Oregill Black Pearl, name suits her to a tee, although not a great fan of the black Lakelands I must say that I was quite impressed with this young lady. Presents good outline, good head & expression, mouth, eye & ear carriage all good, reachy neck, level back, straight front & good rear angulation, not overdone in any way, moved OK.

PGB (4,1)

1 Connell’s Sonorra Bewitched, very smart, well presented bitch, good head, eye, mouth & ear carriage, straight front, good layback of shoulder, well angulated, firm muscletone, moved soundly;

2 Thompson’s Brocolitia Followon, good shaped head, short level back, straight front, good texture coat, adequate rear angulation, moved well.

LB (3)

1 Kenyon’s Wyndam Witchcraft, good head, eye, bite & ear carriage, nice length of neck, strong level back, straight front, good shoulder placement & rear angulation, firm body, in very good condition, moved well, smart young lady. RCC;

2 De Munter-Uiterwuk’s Firewitch von Foliny Home, very smartly turned out, so much to like about her, very nicely put together all round;

3 Harrison’s Saredon Show Girl at Anfranjo.

OB (3,2)

1 Averis & Scawthorn’s Saredon For Your Eyes Only, although she stood alone she caught your attention immediately. Showing superb outline & I wasn’t disappointed when going over her. Lovely head, good bite, dark eye, correct ear carriage, just a glint of spirit in her expression, straight front, good layback of shoulder, reachy neck merging into firm level back, tail on top, good angulation, moved soundly, excellent coat & condition not easy to achieve with a red. Never put a foot wrong, expertly handled. CC & BOB. Good to see her go to the coveted BIS spot.
