Birmingham & District Gundog & Terrier Club – Open Show 22nd October 2016
Congratulations to the Hon.Sec. and all the Committee for such a well-run and happy show, no mean contributing factor being the excellent entry of quality exhibits.

Airedale Terrier

Junior Dog or Bitch 2

  1. Edington-Hall’s Wendaire Kissed by an Angel, quality puppy, plenty of bone and substance but no hint of coarseness. Beautifully balanced throughout. Lovely long strong head, good ears and expression. Moved with drive. BOB, Best Puppy.
  2. Johnston’s Oldiron Voodoo at Bravados (Imp Aus) ,smaller bitch lacking maturity, ears not settled. Sound enough, moved well but lacking enthusiasm.

Open Dog or Bitch 1

  1. Johnston’s Nedella Desert Flame at Bravados ShCM, 2 year old dog, good shoulders and forehand but still loose in elbows. Ear carriage high, would have preferred longer foreface to balance. Res BOB. 

Bedlington Terrier
Junior Dog or Bitch 3 (1abs)

  1. ,Bannister’s Miteymidgets English Dream,smart blue dog just out of puppy. Up to size but well- made throughout. Moved with drive and maintained topline.
  2. Bishop’s Plumeria’s See Breeze sweet liver bitch puppy. Good head, well-made, lovely hind angulation. At 6 months still a babyish coat. Best Puppy

Post Graduate Dog or Bitch 3

  1. Bishop’s Fralex Culibre Bolyn, 21 month quality liver bitch, short coupled, lovely topline, well balanced throughout. Maintained topline as she moved with drive. BOB
  2. Bannister’s Miteymidgets This Is Me, blue bitch a tad larger and longer cast. Sound construction throughout. Topline not as pleasing on the move.
  3. Worrall’s Bluesmurf Utrinque Paratus

Open Dog or Bitch 1

  1. Bannister’s Ch Miteymidgets Going Global, quality blue bitch with good head, shoulder and topline. Moved well, not quite the hind angulation of the winner. Res BOB.

Dandie Dinmont Terrier
Junior Dog or Bitch 2

  1. Milton’s Puddockswell Hot Lips Houlihan at Wilmit, quality mustard bitch, lovely head and expression. Sound construction. Correct topline maintained on the move. BOB
  2. Milton’s Etsill Blackstar with Wilmit, 9month pepper dog, good head, well-made. Not totally sure of himself but moved well once settled. Best Puppy, Res BOB.

Fox Terrier (Smooth)
Junior Dog or Bitch 1

  1. Dolman’s Yoxella Without Equal at Zebec, top quality 17month dog with excellent head. Short coupled, good forehand, good topline, well-muscled hindquarters. Moved with drive. BOB.

Post Graduate Dog or Bitch 1

  1. Brookes’ Zetamaz Black on Track, smart young dog, lovely tight feet. Clean skull, good expression, good reach of neck but topline caused concern Moved well enough.

Open Dog or Bitch 1

  1. Brookes’ Ned Ch Zetamaz Cool Dude JW ShCM (Re-imp) quality dog, soundly made. Tight feet, well- muscled but topline hollowing out. Res BOB.

Post Graduate Dog or Bitch 1

  1. Wyntor & Hampton’s Jean de Cresecques (Imp), neat headed bitch, soundly made, good harsh coat.Moved steadily but could have engaged her hindquarters more. BOB.

Scottish Terrier
Open Dog or Bitch 2 (1 abs)

  1. Beckton’s Ch Glengracie Formula One, top quality example with lovely head ears and expression. Great spring of rib. Powerful hindquarters. Moved with drive and enthusiasm. BOB.

Skye Terrier
Junior Dog or Bitch 1

  1. Huckle’s Silvaspangles Midas Touch, blonde glamour boy in the making. 6 months old lovely make and shape, long and low. Moved and showed with aplomb. BOB, Best Puppy.

Junior Dog or Bitch 1

  1. Riley’s Yonchi Pistol Raider, puppy bitch with good harsh coat. Sound construction, cobby. Front needs to tighten. Best Puppy.

Post Graduate Dog or Bitch 1

  1. Lester’s Saredon Princess Pam, 8 year old lady with good harsh coat. Well balanced and in excellent condition. Moved soundly with drive. Res BOB.

Open Dog or Bitch 2

  1. Orton’s Tiltser Goldfinger, quality elegant dog, big enough. Lovely lean head and ears. Could carry a little more weight to advantage. Moved and showed well. BOB.
  2. Riley’s Yonchi Dodging Bullets, puppy dog, soundly made, plenty of bone and substance. Ear carriage could be better as could temperament.

Any Variety Terrier
Minor Puppy  Dog or Bitch 6 (3abs)

  1. Jellings & Bakewell’s Jaeva Look ‘N Look Again at Norwelston Lynjel NAF TAF, Norfolk. Quality  dog puppy. Good head ears and expression. Lovely short back, good tailset and powerful quarters, moved with drive.
  2. Huckle’s Silvaspangles Midas Touch, Skye.
  3. Holbam Celtic Nuala, Irish.

Veteran Dog or Bitch 8 (6abs)

  1. Tilley’s Starzak Solid Gold Ez Action JW ShCM, Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. Top quality bitch with lovely head, sound construction, moved with drive and showed non-stop. Beautiful colour and the correct texture of coat, neither altered by the years. Excellent condition and presentation. Best Veteran in Show
  2. Baxter’s Int/Gr Ch Am/Can Ch Sulan Fancy That, Border. Another top quality lady carrying her years lightly. Good harsh jacket, in good hard condition, moving well.
  3. Harrison’s Jenkir Thor, Miniature Bull Terrier.

Terrier Group

  1. Felters & Rumens’ Lentrica Fame at Landbuck, Cairn. 9 month bitch oozing quality, confidence and showmanship. A star in the making, and a reason for judging. Sweet head with superb expression, lovely reach of neck onto well placed shoulders, level topline, good hindquarters producing correct free flowing stride. A pleasure to handle and watch. Res BIS and Best Puppy in Show.
  2. Rogers’ Gleann Dynamo Man at Jeonty (Imp Fin), Glen of Imaal at 2 years not yet fully mature but a superb example of the breed. Broad strong skull, big ribs, good length and lovely free ground covering stride.
  3. Jellings & Bakewell’s Jaeva Look ‘N Look Again at Norwelston Lynjel NAF TAF, Norfolk
  4. Milton’s Puddockswell Hot Lips Houlihan at Wilmit, Dandie Dinmont.

Terrier Puppy Group

  1. Felters & Rumens’ Lentrica Fame at Landbuck, Cairn
  2. Jellings & Bakewell’s Jaeva Look ‘N Look Again at Norwelston Lynjel NAF TAF
  3. Batty & Smith’s Netherhill Cortado at Almoor, Border. Lovely size feminine bitch with good head and expression. Good harsh coat, soundly made, moved effortlessly.
  4. Baker’s Pacolito Protolythic, Parson Russell. Smart, workmanlike with neat head good expression and sound construction reflected in his easy ground covering stride.

 Best In Show (Judged jointly with Pam Blay, in total agreement)
Harrison’s Sh Ch Glenbrows Trademark JW, Spaniel (Welsh Springer). Beautiful example of the breed, lovely head and expression, good reach of neck, well sprung ribs and deep brisket. Good feet, glorious coat and a smooth powerful driving stride ensured his victory.

1st Cook’s Montelle I'm Here Too (TAF), tidy youngster, well proportioned head with dark eye, good angulation all through, level topline and strong loin, in good jacket, moved out easily. Res BOB
2nd Brookes Turith The Lawyer At Zetamax, still very much a baby and giving a lot away today, but certainly one to watch for the future, in profile looked the part, it will be interesting to see how he progresses. BP

BOB

1st Catlow’s Belleeefee Helleborine Of Justjingo, 5yo feminine girl, good head with dark eye, quarters well angulated, level topline with correct tailset, moved out well.

1st Catlow’s Flaxela Too Fast For Love At Justjingo, well proportioned dog, masculine head with with good bite, well laid shoulders, deep chest with strong loin, well muscled rear, in good coat, easy driving movement. Res BOB
