Colne, Nelson Canine Society
19th April 2009

Judge: Mr. SJ Paterson (Golitha)

I would like to thank the committee of the Colne, Nelson & District Canine Society for inviting me to judge Bull Terriers & Miniature Bull Terriers at their open show.
The hospitality shown by the club was warm and welcoming and I thoroughly enjoyed my day.

Bull Terrier

Puppy 4 (1)

1. I & A Hollindrake: Activior Grand Finale For Bulian; 8 month well marked brindle & white dog, pleasing enough head, would prefer a tad more profile & strength of muzzle, good mouth, well laid shoulders, straight front and tidy feet. Clean flowing body lines, level top line, short coupled and well developed rear quarters, moved well in front a little close behind.

2. I & A Hollindrake: Activior Final Sunset For Bulian; 8 month bitch, litter sister to 1. Fawn smut good head gently curved and finished without exaggeration, mouth incorrect, well laid shoulders, straight front and cat like feet, slightly long cast, well developed rear quarters, moved ok both ways. Lost out to 1 on overall balance.

3. L & A Smith: Pride Of Will

Post Graduate 5 (2)

1 S & D Lambert: Ebullient Ebony Girl; 11 month black brindle bitch, good make & shape, beautiful head sweeping profile and punishing expression, correct mouth, elegant reach of neck leading to well laid shoulders and ramrod front, nice tight feet. Good level top line which she held on the move, powerful rear quarters with a good bend of stifle & well developed second thigh. Moved with purpose & drive covering the ground with ease. Shown & handled well. BOB, BP. I believe she went on to take Group 1

2. M & D Littlefair: Dikram Devils Deliverance; 22 month black brindle dog, head has width & fill would prefer more finish & a keener expression, good mouth, ears bang on top, good lay of shoulder and straight front, feet could be tighter, lovely short coupled, would prefer more angulations to rear quarters, moved ok coming a little untidy going

3 J E Emett: Brookbully White Tansy

Open 3 (1)

1 S & D Lambert: Ebullient Falcons Fury; 2 ½ year old white with tri eye patch, a big upstanding dog full of bone & substance, egg shaped head with a super sweeping profile, well placed ears and a dark oblique eye offer a most punishing expression, mouth slightly undershot. Good length of neck would prefer a better lay of shoulder, straight front with tidy feet. Clean flowing bodylines, good turn of stifle and correct tail set. Moved better going than coming.

2 S & D Lambert: Forest Flower At Ebullient; 4 ½ year old white bitch, mother to 1. Big upstanding girl, lacking a little in head, good mouth, maximum bone & substance, would prefer a better lay of shoulder, slightly long cast, strong rear quarters, movement was not her forte, a bit off today and didn’t really show. Sympathetically handled.
