STAFFORDSHIRE BULL DARLINGTON 09 Judge: Mr Stephen Whitehouse STAFFORDSHIRE BULL JUDGE DARLINGTON 09 Staffordshire Bull Terriers The overall quality of the dogs & bitches was outstanding. VD (2) 1 Connelly’s Ch Waystaff Dutch Courage, lovely pied dog, still in very good condition for his 8 years, moved & handled very well; 2 Lannin’s Bethawe Thorin, 8 years b/br, still in good nick. Bit heavier than 1. Moved OK. MPD (4) 1 Plant’s Tilcarr Inferno, b/br, pleasing to the eye, lovely expression, good head & quarters, short coupled, moved OK. BPD; 2 Jones’ Kannechor The Defender of Virtutis, b/br, quality youngster, stronger than 1, moved OK, should have a good show career; 3 Hill & Smart’s Gwynford Jimi Hendrix. PD (4) 1 Scarlett & Reid’s Ramblestaff Ebenezer Be Good, b/br, cracking young dog, lovely front when stood & on the move, good head, level topline, moved OK; 2 Tennick’s Jagstaff The Fisher King, red of substance, heavier than 1, good head & shoulders, good backend, plenty of rib. Needs to settle; 3 Asker’s Dazmarnick Don’t Till Um. JD (6,1) 1 Dewar’s Mintmar Just The Man, b/br, eyecatching dog, nice expression, Standard size, in very good condition, good quarters, once in his stride moves very well, balanced body who I am sure will go far; 2 Alger’s Crossguns Diamond Geezer, b/br, stronger than 1, lots to like about him, all quarters OK, another who should have a good show career. Didn’t move or show as well as 1; 3 Hart’s Albermarbull Blue Progeny. YD (3) 1 Pearce & Ward’s Absolute Star, black who certainly lives up to his name, never switched off once on his toes, plenty of substance, very good blend of bull & terrier, cracking head shape, good short coupled, level topline, correct dentition, bend of stifle. Just needs to settle on the move. Could go all the way. RCC; 2 Gillard & Wiggins’ Kewaunee John Smith, good quality b/br/w, good head shape, topline, good front, correct dentition. Big longer in back than 1. Moved & handled professionally; 3 Sheldon’s Oozzoo Royal Guardsman. GD (1) 1 Whitley’s Caymanstaff Mr Vain at Gunsteak, b/br, alone but deserved his place, good all round attributes, moved well. PGD (6) 1 Ewart’s Grangestaff Razzamatazz at Rowansblac, b/br, lovely looking dog, in very good condition, cracking head, good all round quarters, moved & handled well; 2 Lister’s Valglo Say Wot, b/br, not the substance of 1 but overall a quality dog, tidy front, level topline, good backend, fit condition. Just needs to handle & move better in order to progress; 3 Bryne’s Trufflestaff Buru. LD (18,3) 1 Haghan’s Bourtie Wot A Boy, b/br of outstanding quality, certainly lives up to his name & parentage, catches your eye as he enters the ring, absolutely cracking head shape, ears, short coupled, powerful backend, cracking front, stood out in class & the final line up. CC, should gain his title easily; 2 Marriott’s Jajac’s Challenger, b/br, in superb condition, real credit to his owners, not the head shape of 1, good angles, lovely front, level topline & bend of stifle, moved & handled very well; 3 Blacker’s Crosswords Kung Fu King at Crossguns. OD (11,1) 1 Asker’s Colliermans Lionheart at Dazmarnil, red, bang in the Standard & in very good condition, looks the part when standing & on the move, lovely backend, muscular body, good front, level topline. Could have moved better but still a type of dog who I like & would take home; 2 Stanway’s Ch Waystaff Strikes Back, what can be said that has not already, a more than worthy ch, will go on to win more CCs I’m sure; 3 Gibbs’ Ch Tillcarr Pyroteknic. VB (1) 1 Funnell’s Knockon Minerva at Powerpack, lovely girl of 9 years, in lovely condition for age, moved & handled professionally. BV. MPB (3) 1 Johnson’s Tillcarr Very Versace, b/br young girl, lovely head shape, good front & backend, level topline, good dentition, very promising puppy. BP; 2 Gordon & Beattie’s Blazinstaff Red Ember, red, just 6 months, very feminine all over, moved OK, everything just starting to develop well. PB (6) 1 Reid & Booth’s Ramblestaff Take On Me, top drawer young b/br, lovely head shape, correct dentition, lovely smooth lines, everything coming along just right, should do very well; 2 Wandless & Leadbetter’s Doleze Classy Copper, lovely mahogany/br, all the attributes of 1, just needs to settle on the move, am sure this will come with maturity; 3 Stanway, McCulloch & Russell’s Waystaff Dutch Pearl. JB (6) 1 Dewar’s Mintmar One For One, b/br, top drawer bitch, lovely feminine head, in superb condition, good all round quarters, should have a very good show career; 2 Norton’s Mintmar Look Again at Tikkurilan, b/br, bit finer than 1, in very good order, moved & handled very well, should have a good future; 3 Jackson’s Roughnecks Dream Looker. YB (8,1) 1 Baldwin’s Night Storm Cover Girl, b/br, cracking bitch, probably the fittest animal here, superb head shape, good dentition, lovely front, backend, level topline. Needs to settle on the move; 2 Van Dijik’s Oldcrossguns Better Than Sex, b/br, very typy bitch, in good condition. Not as fit as 1. Good head & angles, moved OK; 3 Turner’s Trawden Snowball. PGB (6,1) 1 Welsh’s Valglo Matilda at Staffwize, b/br of substance, good eye & head shape, good front, dentition & quarters, moved OK; 2 Thompson’s Atharrisons Mollies Pride, brindle, lovely girl, just lost out for 1st on fitness. Good head, backend, topline OK on the move. Needs a bit of sparkle; 3 Moody’s Lady Attitude. LB (10) 1 Johnston & Brown’s Tussellstaff Little Cracker, b/br, not as strongly constructed as I normally go for but could not overlook her assets, feminine head, level topline, good angulation, correct front, good dentition, showed well; 2 Dickenson & Stewart’s Shazzkarri Northern Charm by Kacibull, b/br, lovely bitch in superb condition, a lot stronger in head than 2, muscular throughout, showed & handled well. 3 Simpson's Mr & Mrs S Briganah Black Orchid JW OB (11,1) 1 Day & Needham’s Stormpike Ebony And Ivory at Bullred, b/br, no exaggerations at all, in superb condition, moves very well, lovely head shape, good dentition, level topline, good backend angulation. CC, her third, & BOB; 2 Winrow & Rhodes’ Jayneeze Hasta La Vista, b/br, very similar to 1, in fit condition, carrying some sound attributes such as feminine head, good dentition, nice front, muscular backend, another who should gain her title.
