STAFFORDSHIRE BULL MANCHESTER 2010 Dogs-Judge: Mr J Beaufoy STAFFORDSHIRE BULL DOGS JUDGE MANCHESTER 10 Staffordshire Bull Terriers DOGS – Pleased to have a high overall quality of dogs entered, with no propensity of serious faults to report & that, with the health stipulations of fit for function requirements, augurs well for the future of the breed. MP (6,1a) 1 Jones’ Blaziinstaff Light My Fire, well conforming r/w, most pleasing shape of head, neat ears, strong in muzzle & underjaw, level topline, neat feet, well boned quarters, good bend in stifle, nicely balanced young puppy; 2 Williams’ Hubbull’s Nebraska, red, slightly taller than 1 & overall well balanced. Liked his head, correct length & depth of muzzle, sound expression, conforms well in front, neat feet, level topline, well bent in stifle; 3 Goree’s Skastaffs Prince Buster. P (8,1) 1 Couch & Maud’s Funk Odyssey, most attractive eyecatching & Standard size r/w puppy, in balance when viewed form all angles with strong & well proportioned head, well placed shoulders, correctly angulated & conforming hindquarters, he could be expected to move well & he did. Lovely head, eyes, expression & bite, a dog of correct substance who showed well. BP; 2 Sheldon’s Crossguns Williams Wishes, well constructed b/br, good shape of head, strong muzzle & bite, well balanced, well sprung in rib &soundly angulated hindquarters; 3 Brown & Roughneck’s Crusader for Inshaig. J (10,1) 1 Dewar’s Mintmar Just The Man, well balanced standard sized br/w, soundly constructed throughout, very well shaped head, correct length & depth of muzzle, well spaced dark eyes, purposeful expression, neat ears, correct length of neck, well placed shoulders, level topline maintained in movement, conforming well in quarters, overall & eyecatching portrayal of class; 2 Kirkland’s Lordstaff Sir Germaine, b/br of sound well boned & powerful conformation. Punishing head & great front, admirable expression, soundly conforming in muzzle, moved well with level topline maintained, well balanced throughout; 3 Folwell & Morris’ Rowellstaff Mr Ferguson. Y (7) 1 Thomson’s Kiamirose Bossin Motion at Siriustaff, well balanced & soundly constructed b/br, powerful, admirable shape of head, neat ears, correctly constructed in underjaw & muzzle, neat feet, level topline & admirably angulated hindquarters; 2 Bruton & Page’s Zakstaff Alfredo, b/br, punishing head, great expression, neat ears & his neck of correct length tapers well into shoulders & level topline, well sprung in rib & correct hindquarter angulation, drove well on the move; 3 Sutcliffe’s Pendlestaff Thunderbolt. PG (9) 1 Pearce & Ward’s Absolute Star, admirably built standard size b/br of quality & appearance, correct substance, cracking head shape, neat rose ears, great expression, good cheek bumps, lovely bend of stifle, sound level topline & well angulated quarters; 2 Birbeck’s Janikastco Jumpin Jack Flash, red with b/m & white front, great expression in well constructed head, strong in muzzle of correct length & proportions, soundly built in front, correct shoulder placement & level topline, sound blend of bull & terrier; 3 Evans’ Kalhol Dark Maruda. L (17) 1 Callaghan’s Bourtie Wot A Boy, beautifully balanced b/br of admirable substance & conformation, classy & eye catching when viewed from any angle, great shape of head, neatest of ears & purposeful expression, muzzle of correct length & depth, distinct stop & well conforming front, neat feet, powerful & beautifully tapering neck into shoulders & level topline of his short back; 2 Streeter’s Vale of Bryn Rhys, b/w pied who I have always admired. Great shape of head, keen expression from well spaced round eyes, correct in substance, sound front & ample boned forelegs, well sprung in rib, level topline maintained in movement, powerful & well angulated hindquarters producing purposeful driving movement, looked great on the day ; 3 Muir & Quinn’s Sherdrew Born To Perform at Maratana. O (13,1) 1 Stanway’s Ch Waystaff Strikes Back, top class champion of the breed, this classy r/w pied thoroughly deserved his placing & here is a dog so well constructed & with effortless grace, he stands out strikingly in the ring. Great head & expression, neat ears, admirable balance, free from exaggeration, his attributes include a short back, level topline, well angulated quarters & such sound driving movement. A difficult dog to beat & on the day he showed so well. CC; 2 Byrne’s Ir Ch Lackyle Diabhal Dearbhchlo, b/br, he ran the CC winner closely for the top honour on the day. Superbly balanced, powerful & in great athletic condition, outstandingly balanced from wherever viewed, his movement from strong driving quarters was second to none, great powerful head & expression, in fit muscular condition, this was a day on which he shone. RCC; 3 Stewart’s Rapstaff The Game. V (2,1) 1 Lannin’s Bethane Thorin, very appealing 8 year old who clearly loved his day out in the ring. Substantial in construction, conforms well, strong & powerful head, excellent expression & clearly showed to be of the soundest of temperaments.
