STAFFORDSHIRE BULL JUDGE DRIFFIELD 09

Staffordshire Bull Terriers

I thank all the exhibitors who braved the awful weather – it was very unnerving for both owners & dogs with the wind buffeting the tents. There was a good quality in depth of Staffords present & this can only be good for our breed.

MPD (3,1a)

1 Knight’s Rubysha Redeeming Jewel, r/w, 7 months, good deep red colour, a real baby, head shape OK for one so young with a nice expression, clean & good pigmentation, correct scissor bite, a well put together young pup, it will be interesting to see how he grows, moved OK;

2 McDermott & Summerfield’s Badgerlee Ring Leader, br/w, a lot more mature puppy than 1, head OK, correct scissor bite, overall a quality puppy who moved & handled well.

PD (3,1)

1 BP, Asker’s Dazmarnic Dont Tell Um, brindle, I said on my machine ‘I really love this puppy, stunning & outstanding’, beautiful head, fantastic expression with well placed round dark eyes, well boned correct front, level topline, short coupled, powerful quarters with balance & type, everything there & just waiting to mature – will watch him do that with anticipation, moved & handled really well. BP;

2 Charles’ Jamiliah Man Otha Monsell, r/w, another good puppy, good head with dark eye, correct scissor bite, good pigmentation, front good, well boned, level topline, powerful rearquarters, good tight short coat & in good condition, moved & handled well.

JD (15,5)

2 Tennick & Ridley’s Jagsstaff The Fisherking, red with black mask, best of heads again with very little to choose between 1 & 2, correct scissor bite, a beautiful rich red dog who looks good from every angle, showed good strength, balance & type, moved & handled OK;

3 Booth & Grimwood’s Izumis Cotton Eye Joe.

YD (3)

OD (16,5)

I found this a hard class as I just loved my first three but judging means I have to choose – & with great difficulty I did. 1 CC & BOB, Stanway’s Ch Waystaff Strikes Back, skewbald, I said on my machine ‘absolutely stunning’, a dog who fits the Standard well, best of heads with excellent expression framed with neat well placed ears, dark pigmentation, correct scissor bite, so balanced with no exaggerations & so well put together, a real star, in fit hard condition with muscles well defined, short coupled with a level topline held on the move, muscular powerful rear quarters that moved with drive, neat tidy feet, short tight coat which was gleaming with health, moved very well & showed his character all the way through being shown;

2 RCC, Asker’s Colliermans Lionheart at Dazmarnic, deep red with black mask, have judged this dog before & he has got better with maturity, beautiful head set off with a great expression, dark round well placed eyes, neat ears, correct scissor bite, another balanced beautiful Standard dog in tip-top condition who moved & handled very well, am sure his third CC won’t be far away & was unlucky to meet 1 in such good form;

3 Coats’ Ch Bellerophon Bevin Boy.

MPB (4,1)

1 Stevens & Raynsford’s Raynstaff Do You Know Who I Am, dark brindle with white, beautiful puppy, good clean head & nice expression, neat ears & correct scissor bite, a well put together baby puppy, nice to look at from all angles & nicely balanced, moved & handled very well;

2 Johnson’s Tillcarr Very Versace, another beautiful puppy. Was in full season which showed on the move, another day a different outcome. Beautiful head & expression, correct scissor bite, well put together body, in good condition with tight gleaming coat;

3 Dawkins’ Machusi Dreamworld.

PB (8,1)

1 Jackson’s Spinnjack Mistletoe Magic, b/br, just totally loved this puppy bitch & will be watching its progress in the ring, absolutely beautiful expression with dark round well placed eyes, good depth of underjaw & clean foreface, neat tidy ears & correct scissor bite, front good, with level topline, well put together balanced body, moved & handled well. BPB;

2 Edwards’ Chapmeek Macy Gray at Mooreviews, mahogany br/w, just loved the colour of this beautiful puppy, lovely head, dark well placed round eyes, clean muzzle with no lippiness, correct scissor bite, short coupled with well sprung rib & powerful rearquarters, tight short coat in gleaming condition, moved & handled very well;

3 Stanway, McCulloch & Russell’s Waystaff Dutch Pearl.

3 Swift’s Leading Lady Rose.
