STAFFORDSHIRE BULL RICHMOND 09 Judge: Mrs Elaine Norton STAFFORDSHIRE BULL JUDGE RICHMOND 09 Staffordshire Bull Terriers A typical entry, I was especially pleased with my dog line-up. However, I found a number of exhibits with large overdone heads, too short muzzles & far too much excessive flesh on the head giving a totally false expression. The large limit dog class was very good, my final cut with all quality dogs. VD (2) 1 Lay’s Ch Carnig Positive Profile, classy b/br showing great type, head shape clean & typical with enough stop & correct length & strength of muzzle. Outline good with enough length of leg to balance, depth of brisket & length of back. RCC; 2 Lannin’s Bethane Thorin, strong b/br with a wide front & larger ribcage, head with round dark eyes. MPD (2) 1 Bruton & Page’s Zakstaff Alfredo, upstanding dark brindle dog with head shape & outline all good at this stage of development, straight well boned front with no looseness at the elbow & showing desired amount of lift. Head shape strong & typical with deep stop & strong muzzle, movement puppy like but should tighten as he matures; 2 McDermott & Summerfield’s Badgerlee Ring Leader, brindle pied, heavier type with front showing good strong bone. He has enough spring of rib & depth of brisket to balance, head shape coming along nicely with dark round eyes. PD (9) 1 Scarlett & Reid’s Ramblestaff Ebenezer Good, striking b/br with loads to like, his expression is good with correct eye placement & strong muzzle enhanced by a deep enough stop & deep through head. Sound, square front balancing with his depth of brisket, short coupled body & rearquarters muscling up well; 2 Cutler’s Bomber, brindle with white front showing good bone & strong short neck with a close coupled body. He has a deep through, broad skull with good stop giving a typical expression; 3 Jones’ Maxsta Loud N’ Proud. JD (8) 1 Powell’s Cwmcalon Son Of The Lord, I was really taken with this b/br, very soundly constructed which showed in his true, sound movement holding his topline & showing free, active movement. Head shape typical with broad deep skull, round well placed eyes & ears used to advantage. He had the largest white teeth on show, his body is close coupled with well sprung ribs & correct depth of brisket; 2 Mourant’s Dennis The Menace, strong pied with good head shape & expression, short coupled body showing balanced outline, well developed hams & short rear pasterns; 3 Dewar’s Mintmar Just The Man. YD (5) 1 C Son Of The Lord; 2 Marachowska’s Kalhols Black Magic at Passernomen, b/br, strong well boned, wide front & deep brisket, head showing short blunt muzzle & round eyes, short & strong neck; 3 Norris’ Fantazmic Megaboom. PGD (8) 1 Dowse’s Rotherstaff Black Tie, lively b/br with a zest for life who does his best to hide his light under a bushel. He has the head & expression I was looking for with good stop & clean outline. His cheek bumps are well developed & he as neat rose ears, good straight front with enough length of leg to balance & strong quarters. His body outline is excellent with a close coupled body & good spring of rib, balanced with the correct depth of brisket, movement was sound when he settled. CC; 2 Boggins’ Lonestaff Perfect Storm, stronger b/br, giving his handler a torrid time, straight front with no looseness & strong backend driving him down the ring when he settled, good body outline viewed from all angles, pleasing head shape giving alert expression; 3 Swift’s Longdrive Manhatton. LD (27) 1 Moore & Cullum’s Dynastaff Jack The Lad, balanced b/br, excellent head & expression, showing no excessive fleshiness, very good front with no looseness at the elbows, broad strong muzzle of correct length & depth, deep stop with round eyes & correct ear placement, in very hard condition, depth & spring of rib all & overall balance; 2 Powell’s Foxstaff Positive Magic, really liked the movement on this b/br, free & active with a good topline denoting his sound construction. Just preferred the expression of 1 but he has a strong clean muzzle & good width & depth to his skull; 3 Beaufoy’s Wyrefare The Governor. OD (9) 1 Clement’s Ch Sanjojistaff Back In Black, top size b/br, excellent clean head shape & expression with good length of muzzle & defined stop. Sound front with enough width of chest & length of leg to balance; 2 Stanway’s Ch Waystaff Strikes Back, pied, stronger than 1 with straight front & deep brisket, good head shape with distinctive stop & good eye placement, strong well muscled backend but moving wide; 3 Lawrenson’s Ch Crossguns Tom Jones. VB (5) 1 Funnell’s Knockon Minerva of Powerpack, b/br, typical head & expression & good length of leg, body outline good showing a waistline; 2 Essex’s Rowellstaff Top Hatter with Javawolf, smaller sized, predominately white, soundly constructed which showed in good movement keeping a level outline, untidy ears detract from her expression; 3 Fletcher & Seedhouse’s Grantiangel Red Dwarf. MPB (6) 1 Johnson’s Tillcarr Very Versace, pleasing b/br, correct head shape & expression for her 6 months, good body outline with a strong backend, shown & handled like a veteran; 2 Stevens & Raynsford’s Raynstaff Do You Know Who I Am, liked the head shape on this brindle with white. Very much a baby but what I would expect at this age; 3 Norris’ Raynstaff Earth Angel. PB (11) 1 Booth & Grimwood’s Ramblestaff Jorja On My Mind, very taken with this b/br who was handled to show off all her virtues. Clean head shape & ears used well to produce a lovely picture. Sound front with no looseness at the elbow & good body outline with well bent stifles & tight feet with black nails. BP; 2 Stanway, McCulloch’s & Russell’s Waystaff Dutch Pearl, all white puppy with a straight front & short coupled body, good spring of rib & depth of brisket. Bend of stifle, correct & muscle development right for her age. Two very promising puppies; 3 Yarham’s Mishdar’s Sheza Sugarbabe at Engladian. JB (11) 1 Stone’s Ashbull Black Magic, striking b/br, presenting a pleasing picture, especially when viewed front on. True front with plenty of lift, head shape excellent with deep stop & round dark eyes used to advantage, Good body outline with correct depth of brisket; 2 Swift’s Leading Lady Rose, liked the clean head & expression on this red bitch, yes red, sith a dark mask. PGB (15) 1 Pearce’s Tigerbull Nessun Dorma, brindle with white chest, liked her outline & sound construction, pleasing expression, the product of a good stop & eye placemen aided by her ear carriage. Bodily she is close coupled with a good spring of rib & depth of brisket; 2 Parker’s Rumrourke Rubiwax at Nettleworth, smaller size with a sound front & good head shape. She has thin rose ears & shows no lippiness with a strong muzzle balancing with her deep through skull; 3 Funnell’s Kewaunee Pochahontas for Powerpack. LB (12) 1 Dillon’s Cragalis Indian Summer, Standard size brindle handled with expertise, straight front with enough lift to balance with width. Not overdone in spring of rib & showing a good tuck up & waistline, well handled. CC & BOB; 2 Manito’s Dynastaff Miss Complex, larger size b/br/w, clean head, blunt muzzle & good stop.
