AUSTRALIAN JUDGE SKC MAY 16

Australian Terriers

I would like to thank the Scottish Kennel Club committee for inviting me to judge at their show & award CCs again in the breed. I enjoyed spending all three days at the show.

PD (1)

1 Jones’ Wyeafon Blue Illusion, only just 6 months & a very promising puppy in deed. Nice well proportioned head with super ear carriage, even a topknot developing. Slightly arched neck going into lovely shoulders. Nice chest, good bone & well muscled. Level topline, held on the move with correct springy gait. Correct small feet. Had he been a little older, he would have been in contention for top honours. BP.

JD (3)

1 Stoddart & Stubbs’ Millvalley Shades Of Red, a very nice young dog which may take time to mature completely. Good head with nice dark eye. Level topline & super catlike feet. Nice angulation, well muscled & fit for purpose. Furnishings & bib coming nicely. Moved very well. When fully mature, he will be a lovely dog;

2 Skelton’s Spitewinter Ooh Ah Henry, nice head proportions, good dark eye & ear carriage. Not in full coat, which spoilt the overall picture. Nice feet & level topline. Moved OK.

LD (1)

1 Brown’s Ralindi Howdy Rowdy, did not seem to be enjoying his day with a change of handler. Well proportioned head with nice ear set on. In excellent coat & furnishings. Nicely muscled, but did not seem to want to move with his handler today.

OD (2)

1 Tams’ Ch Temora’s Rhapsody In Blue, I have always liked this bl/t dog from a puppy & watched him mature into the worthy Ch he is today. He was presented & handled to perfection on the day. Now fully mature, at ease with his handler, he looked his best. He looked so much like my dogs I used to show. Fabulous, well proportioned masculine head, with ‘thumb marks’ rarely seen today. Super ‘topknot’ with correct small ears placed moderately wide apart on head. Slightly arched neck blending into well laid shoulders. Good tailset, with docked tail. Well sprung ribs, nice bone, well muscled, stifles well turned & hocks well bent. Giving a fabulous free, springy movement with force & drive. CC, BOB;

2 McCourt, Eardley & O’Reilly’s Silhill Red Crackle, not completely at ease with a different handler. Nice head proportions, correct arch of neck into lovely shoulders. Well sprung ribs with a super topline & tailset. Nice feet, well muscled, good stifles & hocks giving a free movement. In excellent coat of a super red colour. RCC.

JB (1)

1 Stoddart’s Spitewinter Aefond Kiss for Millvalley, a very feminine bitch with good bone. Well proportioned head & super ‘topknot’. Small, pointed ears well set on head. Catlike feet. Level topline, well constructed body. May be slower to mature than some & when in full coat will fill the picture. She did not seem to want to move with animation on the day. RCC.

LB (1)

1 Brown’s Ralindi Fatal Attraction, nice feminine head. Good feet & topline. Nicely muscled & in good coat. Moved OK.

OB (1)

1 Skelton’s Ch Millvalley Blue Persimmon, a very worthy Ch, at her prime & really looking her best on the day. In full coat, furnishings & bib, with good undercoat, not always seen these days. Well proportioned head, nice neck flowing into good shoulders. Level topline, stifles well turned & hocks well bent. Good muscletone producing excellent movement around the ring. RCC.

VB (1)

1 Stoddart’s Ch/Am Ch Temora’s The Simple Life, nice ‘old lady’ loving her day out. In wonderful coat with full bib. Lovely condition for her age. Good head & body outline with lovely level topline, which she kept on the move. Nice feet. Well muscled, moved freely, very straight from front & behind. BV.

FELICITY A SNOOK
