A question for you we had a judge at Southern Counties ( from Sweden) who obviously did not know the breed standard. She told one of the competitors of a dark coated dog that it was the wrong colour, when the very dark coat on the bedlington is to be encouraged and something we are all trying to achieve. Saying this most bedlingtons overseas have very little colour in their coats and there is no white in the breed standard.

This question is regarding British KC Judges
Does a K C all round Championship show judge who awards tickets to several groups and breeds have to have passed a specific breed test or attended a specific breed seminar before qualifying to give tickets in that breed?
I put this question on my blog and did not get any answer, I thought you may know
Best wishes
Lesley

Breed Notes 23-7-09

Hi

I have just had a call from Stuart Yearley who has been through the points for top puppy in the "Our Dogs" Newsletter and

"Gnejnabay Gene Genie Gal at Lowbrook"

is top puppy not just in Bedlingtons or terriers, but all breeds so far this year.

Fantastic news for the breed and for me, as I bred the stud dog.

It is quite a big event with people coming from all over the country, camping has been arranged at the venue for £5 per night. There is a lot going on including terrier racing, games, fun races and competitions, I am a KC examiner for the Good Citizen Scheme, and several will be taking their bronze award. Also I will be taking along the agility equipment with two competitions now planned .
We had over 80 bedlingtons turned up two years ago at the last event and we are expecting more this year! We have an " Our Dogs" photographer besides Jon in attendance for the photos.

Gnejnabay Genegenie Gal at Lowbrook

What an amazing start to this little girl’s show career. Genie is owned by Stuart and Angela Yearley and was bred by
Mrs Sandra Hyde.

Genie who is only 8 months old won the bitch CC and best puppy in show at her very first championship Show ( National Terrier) and then went on at her next show to win her second CC, BOB and Terrier Group two behind the top winning Lakeland Terrier “Saredon For Your Eyes Only” at WELKS.

Carmel Smallwood Cleveley from “Dorwest Herbs” owns “Jazz” ( Burmington Baton Rouge at Brynsire) Genie’s sire .

Some of you may have met Jazz as he is well know on the show circuit by the stall holders as he travels with Carmel and Brian to most of the championship shows during the summer.

We wish Angela and Stuart Yearley the best of luck with this very promising young puppy bitch
.
