BEDLINGTON JUDGE DARLINGTON 16

Bedlington Terriers

It was a delight for me to judge this breed which is a great favourite of mine, having been brought up in Foggyfurze & Northcote country. Many thanks to my stewards, the very efficient mother & daughter duo, Angie Fieldsend & Maureen Mark.

MPD

1 Travellerway’s Madness, 6 months, top size, shapely with good coat & colour & a long head. Ears a little heavy. Good quarters. Covers the ground. Can firm up in rear.

PD & JD (0).

PGD

1 Highdene Hartley, 13 months, of correct size but a touch short coupled. Beautiful head, fine ears & correctly angulated at both ends. Scored on the move well in topline. Could carry himself with a little more confidence;

2 Conekesheved Ironstone Boy, 15 months, taller boy with good neck, coat & colour. He needs to strengthen in rear. At the moment a little flat in topline on the more & could have more fallaway to croup. Good head. Beautiful free ears.

LD

1 Tunman Ta Dah, 23 months tall dog but scoring in chest & rib here. Excellent horseshoe front. Beautiful head & good eye colour. Correct angulation;

2 Honeymist Blu Bols, 17 months, lovely shape & moves well but at the moment looks his age in chest & body. Good head. Eye a touch large. Not quite as settled in rear action as winner. Needs time for substance & finish to body;

3 Maevani One And Only.

OD

1 Ch Rocabec Definitely Maybe, a new one to me & how I liked him! 6 years old, lovely shape & good movement won him this class. Correct in angulation, smooth fallaway to croup. Good head & eye. Free ears. Good coat, a stand out today for me. CC & BOB, shortlisted in the group;

2 Ch Sharnor High I’m Victor at Kierlander, 3 years now, won his first group under me so obviously I like him a lot. Has beautiful head & eye & coat texture. Today looked over angulated & was disappointing on the move. RCC;

3 Honeymist Mellow Tone in Bluemazzu.

MPB

1 Travellersway Mischief, 6 months, raw but shapely & had a very good mouth. Obviously needs to drop in chest. Very feminine in head but can strengthen in jaw but scored in shape & movement to win this & BP;

2 Yarbach Christmas Cracker, 8 months, stronger bitch with a good head & more forward in body than the winner but short coupled & lacking fallaway on the croup. Not the action in front of the winner, she was overawed by the ring & the weather & I’m sure I didn’t see her at her best.

JB

1 Highdene Harmony, 13 months, lovely breed type throughout on this bitch & correct movement & topline held on the move. Excellent lines throughout & with good coat & colour. Excellent head & eye. I think she is full of quality & promise & with maturity could do very well.

PGB

1 Fralex Culibre Amber, 2 years, a little short coupled but has good lines & is correct on the move. A good head with correct eye & pigmentation. Good coat texture. A little over sprung in ribs adding to the impression of shortness.

LB

1 Bluemazzu Ballerina, 3 years, top sized but has good lines & good movement. Lovely head & eye & in very good coat. Scored in front action & topline here & won this class comfortably;

2 Honeymist Posh Sugar, almost 3 years, of correct size but a little short coupled & overdone in cut up for my taste. Good head. Not in her best coat. Scored in size & femininity over 3

3Travellersways Rising Sun.

OB

Closest decision of the day.

1 Ch Honeymist Posh Dreamz, 3 years, scored in chest & rear action to win this, good head, but eye could be better. Good depth of chest in which she scored. I’d prefer her a little longer in couplings. Excellent coat texture & colour, I’d prefer a little more rear angulation for more purposeful drive. CC;

2 Conekesheved Kaldo Girl, 14 months, lovely shape & scoring in eye over the winner but looks her age in body & can drop in chest. I preferred her front action but she is a little close in rear. Full of quality, her best is yet to come & she should have a good future. I preferred her outline but the winner scored in chest, body & coat. RCC;

3 Honeymist Hot Spice of Rozabec.
