BEDLINGTON DRIFFIELD 09 Judge: Mrs Lois A Sutton BEST OF BREED : 4613 YEARLEY Mr S & Mrs A Gnejnabay Genegenie Gal at Lowbrook BEDLINGTON JUDGE DRIFFIELD 09 Bedlington Terriers As the wind was so bad judging took place in the marquees, at times one thought the marquees were going to take off. I think most of the dogs coped better than some of the humans. Unfortunately the grass was rather long & at times movement was not easy to assess. As I have to judge on the day I took this into consideration. Ribcages still concern me greatly, the Standard states ‘flat ribcage’ & there are still far too many with slightly barrel ribs. Having said that I was pleased with my winners & am sure that they will change places many times. MPD (0). PD (0). JD (3) 1 Hyde’s Gnejnabay Chocka Pops, liver with a fabulous colour. Would not like him any bigger, but very well balanced. Good head, correctly shaped eyes, well placed thin ears, good mouth, large teeth, good length of neck, well laid shoulders with the all important flat ribs, good topline which he kept when on the move, moved well; 2 Hall’s Palm Of The Desert, blue of a correct size, nice head & eyes, but would prefer longer ears. Good length of neck, well laid shoulders, preferred the ribcage of 1. Nice topline, but movement seemed a little stilted. Could have been the ground; 3 Birkhead’s Cassdenal Dream Maker. YD (0). PGD (3,2a) 1 Baldwin’s Woolytop Another Star, blue of good type, nice head, correctly shaped eyes of good colour, ears OK, good neck, shoulders & ribcage, correct topline, a little out of coat. Moved with real drive, & covered the ground really well. LD (6) 1 Cumming’s Honeymist Blue Flame at Rocabec, blue with a really good coat, super head, lovely eyes, long correctly shaped ears, great length of neck, really good shoulders, flat ribs, superb topline, good tail carriage, moved with real drive over the bad ground, impressed. RCC; 2 Walshaw’s Janmark Blue Encounter, blue, really good coat, very nice head, good dark eyes, nice, long thin ears, good length of neck, good shoulders, flat ribs. Would prefer a better tail carriage, but covered the ground really well; 3 Davies’ Bla Skuggans Jack In The Box. OD (8,1) 1 Ross’ Cedar Of The Manor, very nice blue, that I liked the look of as soon as he walked into the ring, was not disappointed when I got my hands on him, fantastic head, dark eyes, soft thin ears with correct placement, really good length of neck, good shoulders, flat ribcage, good topline which he kept at all times, very good tail carriage, moved with lots of drive & very well presented & handled. CC; 2 Walshaw’s Janmark Alannora, good blue, liked his head, good dark eyes, long thin ears, good reach of neck, well laid shoulders, good ribcage, correct topline, good tail carriage, moved well, good presentation, well handled, I am sure it won’t be long before he gets his title; 3 Phillips’ Rathsrigg Ask Im. PB (6,1) 1 Horsewood’s Aireview Special Print, super blue with much promise, really good head, lovely dark eyes, long thin ears, good reach of neck, good shoulders, flat ribcage, really good movement for one so young, considering the longish grass. I think if she was handled better you could get so much more from her. Will watch her progress with interest, well deserved BP; 2 Garbutt’s Aireview Starprint, so similar to her litter sister, like two peas in a pod, the same comments apply. Just preferred the movement of 1. Am certain they will change places on numerous occasions, I note that I placed another litter sister also in this class, a very nice litter from this well known kennel; 3 Hurley’s Fralex Culibre Truffles. JB (2) 1 Phillips’ Cassdenal Serendipity, lovely dark blue coat with good texture, extremely feminine head, dark eyes, nice thin ears, long neck, good shoulder, really good ribcage, very good topline that she kept on the move, good tail carriage, presentation as always by this exhibitor was immaculate; 2 Ames’ Sharnor Crystal Clear, blue of good type, but would prefer a flatter ribcage. Good shoulders, feminine head, nice eyes, good topline with correct tail carriage, moved well. YB (1) 1 Shorrock’s Rotherview Isadora, nice head, dark eyes, good ears. Would prefer a flatter ribcage, found movement difficult to assess, especially the front, possibly because of the noise in the marquee. PGB (3) 1 Hamilton’s Rotherview Shear Magic, litter sister to previous class winner, nice head that would look so more feminine with better trimming. Thin well placed ears, good length of neck, good shoulders, flat ribcage, correct topline which she held when moving, good movement; 2 Godden’s Makems Honky Tonk Woman, nice head, dark eyes, long thin ears, correct length of neck, but would prefer a flatter ribcage. Felt that movement could have been better; 3 Shorrock’s Rotherview Isadora. LB (5) 1 Baldwin’s Woolytop Greeno Save The Day, very nice blue, very feminine head, good dark eyes with thin, long well placed ears, correct length of neck, well laid shoulders, excellent flat ribcage, good topline which she kept on the move, best mover in this class; 2 Rainsbury’s Sevray Repique, nice blue, beautifully presented as always from this kennel, feminine head, good eyes, ears, neck & correct shoulders, flat ribcage, good topline, moved well, I am sure they will change places many times; 3 Wharton-Smith’s Miteymidgets Shooting Star. OB (9,2) The most difficult class to judge, the quality of the bitches was so good the placings could be so different at another show. They are all a credit to their owners. 1 Yearley’s Gnejnabay Genegenie Gal at Lowbrook, what can I say about this youngster except ‘wow’, this is the first time I have seen her in the flesh, so to speak, he is a credit to her breeder & her owners, who must be so proud, fabulous liver coat, very feminine head, beautiful dark eyes, long thin ears lying flat, right length of neck, good shoulders, lovely flat ribcage, roach in just the right place, good tail carriage, looked a picture standing & moves like a dream, one very special girl. CC, BOB & G3; 2 Ross’ Honeymist Gaviota, lovely blue that impressed me very much, very feminine head, dark eyes, long, thin, well placed ears, correct length of neck, good shoulders, very flat ribcage, correct topline, moves really well, superbly presented & handled. RCC; 3 Hurley’s Fralex Culibre Sapphire. LOIS A SUTTON
