Many thanks to the committee for the wonderful Scottish hospitality & inviting me to judge Bedlington Terriers & Skye terriers at SKC, a very enjoyable day & a great show, which ran very well. Thanks to all the exhibitors for spending their hard earned cash on entries in the breeds classes, much appreciated, for this difficult to get to location. Judging was inside the halls as is now usual & as the breeds were not scheduled first in the ring, thus involved a little waiting around. I am not sure if this unsettled a few of the Bedlingtons, as when judging commenced, some were uneasy & would have preferred to have been elsewhere, which certainly affected their performance & placings. No cracked pads, decent dentition, the majority fit for function & also enjoying their day. Coats were not as good as expected & movement in general is a concern. However, some great quality in a small entry.
Puppy dog or bitch (4)
1. LAWSON Ms C. Maevani One And Only. Smart young man, so mature for his age in ring presence, well schooled & covering the ground with a light springy step. Strong in head, long & narrow, the largest teeth of the day, perfect scissor bite, thin filbert shaped ears & a sparkling dark eye. Balanced throughout, with good length to height ratio. Correct arch over strong loin. Strong long tapering neck, flowing into clean shoulders. Chest deep & body lean, lithe & muscular. Lovely hare feet. Put down in hard condition. Moved Ok coming & going, a little loose as you would expect from a puppy & going close behind at times. Best Puppy.
2. BANNISTER Mrs Y E & Mr C R. Miteymidgets Love In Bloom. Bitch of pleasing shape. Feminine head with dark eye. Good length of body. Decent depth of chest & adequate bone throughout. Lovely sloping pasterns & good angulation at rear. Nice tailset. Sporting a soft puppy coat. Moved ok.

1. MAYERS Mr C P & Mrs C M. Tcheria Causing Tchaos. 10 mth pup old who was mature in body. Gives a very pleasing picture stood, balanced, of good length & in proportion. Strong head with dark eye. Well off for bone. Good angulations throughout & great tailset. Unfortunately fell apart on the move, which spoiled the picture & was very unsettled with himself.

1. MCNALLY Mr J & Mrs L. Makems Caught In The Act. Put down in great condition, with good muscletone & colourful jacket of the correct texture, with thick furnishings. Strong in head, dark eye & fine correctly shaped ears. Well bodied throughout & with excellent bone. Balanced with good depth of chest. Angled well throughout. Steady on his feet & moved with purpose around the ring. Stood alone but worthy winner.

1. KIERNAN Mr P. Ch Sharnor High I'm Viktor At Kierlander. A lot to like about this young man & one I gave best puppy to last time I judged the breed. He really excels in head & skull, narrow, deep, well filled under eye & close fitting lips. Eyes dark, small & bright. The best of ears, thin, velvety & filbert shaped. Graceful in neck, long & tapering, flowing nicely into well laid shoulders, which are clean. Forequartes straight & sloping pasterns, deep in chest, arched over a strong loin, good tailset. Lovely angulation at rear, with strong well let down hocks. Put down in excellent condition, muscular throughout. It goes without saying that the presentation was of the highest order, which finished of the picture. Movement in profile around the ring was light & springy, keeping his shape at all times. Movement coming & going was Ok, would prefer a little more drive from rear. It was a pleasure to award him the DCC & BOB. I was delighted to watch him put in a fault free performance in the main ring & take Terrier grp1 in strong competition & from such an esteemed judge. Well done!
Veteran Dog (2)
1. CUMMING Mr & Mrs P & J. Ch Honeymist Blue Flame At Rocabec. Balanced dog of good length. Pleasing head, long & lean, dark eye & nice ears. Lovely length of neck, which carried the head proudly on the move. Well bodied & good bone. Deep in chest, strong loin with correct arch. In decent jacket. Moved with purpose, covering the ground with ease, true coming & going, with drive from the rear. RDCC.
2. DAVIES Mrs S. Ch Bla Skuggans Jack In The Box At Honeymist (Imp). Different type to 1. Stronger throughout. Strong head, big teeth, strong jaw & dark eye. Deep through chest, good arch over powerful loin. Good tailset. Lovely thick linty jacket. Moved well, lovely in profile, covering the ground with purpose. Im sure these 2 will have some good battles in veteran, changing places regularly.
Post Graduate Bitch (2)
1. MAYERS Mr C P & Mrs C M. Miteymidgets Universal At Tcheria. Nice head, strong but remaining feminine. Dark eye & good ear shape. Good length of neck & decent length of body. Nicely arched over loin. In good jacket. Moved positively when settled, true & keeping shape in profile.
2. GILLIES Mrs J. Rhicullen Joy Of Patchwork. Head ok, eye dark & decent ears. Ok for bone & depth of chest. Well arched over loin & good tailset. Not sporting her best jacket today. Moved ok, however would prefer more drive from rear.
Limit Bitch (4)
1. GARBUTT Mr R & Mrs P. Aireview Xmas Star. Headed a mixed class. Up to size but very typey. Lots to like her about her. Good head, long & narrow, good teeth & bite, dark sparking eye & thin, well shaped & positioned ears. Lovely neck & depth of chest. Forequarters straight & long pasterns. Adequate angulation at rear. In good muscular condition & sporting a decent jacket. Moved well in profile, keeping her shape, would have liked her to drive on a little bit more from the rear.
2. DAVIES Mrs S. Honeymist Posh Sugar. Liver bitch of different type to 1. Again a lot to like about her. Pleasing head, eye & ears. Good for bone & body tone. Very good pigmentation. Arced over loin, which she maintained on the move. Sporting a lovely linty jacket. Went really well on the move, pleasing to the eye.

1. DAVIES Mrs S. Honeymist Posh Dreamz. Feminine bitch who was lovely to go over, nothing exaggerated. Pleasing feminine head, correct bite, dark sparkling eye & thin ears. Head carried well on the move, from a strong well placed neck. Balanced throughout which was pleasing on the eye. Deep in chest, strong over well arched loin, well bodied throughout. Well angulated front & rear. Good feet & perfect tailset. Turned out in great condition, adequate muscletone & sporting a lovely linty jacket. Moved with purpose, foot perfect, covering the ground confidently, with light springy steps & with ease. Moving true both fore & aft. Delighted to award her, what I was told later was her crowning CC. She pushed the male closely for BOB in the challenge.
2. BANNISTER Mrs Y E & Mr C R. Miteymidgets Going Global. Another pleasing bitch. Looks balanced stood with good length to body. Feminine head, dark eye & the finest of ears. Well angulated front & rear. Adequate body with good tailset. Sporting a decent jacket. Moves true coming & going. She didnt seem to have the sparkle today, but did enough to warrant the RCC.
