BEDLINGTON JUDGE THREE COUNTIES 26

I had a lovely day spent judging quality Bedlingtons in the sunshine at this, one of my favourite shows. My thanks go to the committee for the invitation and to the exhibitors, every one of whom was present, for accepting my decisions in such good spirit.

PD (1/0) 1 Mickleview Fly High at Yarbach (Butler). 9mnths blue puppy who presented a very balanced outline from his profuse pale topknot, through a good length of neck, lay of shoulder and return of upper arm to his correct topline and good rear angulation. Chest yet to drop. Correct low tailset. Strong head of good length and enough underjaw. Clean through the cheek and dark eye. Leathers of correct filbert shape; set well and thin, carried close to cheek. Good mouth. Movement needs to settle. A promising young lad with lots to like. JD (1/0) 1 Mickleview Fly High at Yarbach (Butler) - As above. PGD (2/0) 1 Mickleview Harvest Moon (Scott) - 19mnths blue. Up to size but very balanced lad. Scored highly for me on front angulation with excellent length of neck, lay of shoulder and return of upper arm. Correct topline and low tailset. Might prefer a little more depth of brisket. Excellent horseshoe front and clean through the shoulder. Good hare foot. His head has good length and fill under the eye. Good mouth. Thin ears, held close to cheek. Moved well both ways, showing typical springy action in profile, holding his topline. RBD. 2 Ratzwell Bring Me Sunshine (Poultney) - 13mnths blue. Another smart boy with good balance, but not quite the front angulation of 1 and a shade longer. Might prefer a little more depth in brisket. Scored in strong head, with good muzzle, plenty under the eye and excellent large teeth. Moved out well. OD (3/0) 1 Sharnor Sultan of Spica (Fletcher) - 2yrs. Quality boy of good size and type. Correct impression of hind legs being slightly longer than front, showing good flexibility. Good length of neck into good lay of shoulder and return of upper arm. Might prefer a little more depth of brisket. Strong loin with good tuck-up and well-muscled quarters. Excellent horseshoe front with clean shoulders. Impressed with his super head showing length and strength; minimal stop, clean through the cheek, plenty of underjaw, dark eye and thin ears, set close to cheek. Large teeth. Moved out well, just carrying his tail up a little. In good linty coat. Presented and handled very well. BD and RBOB 2 Bisbee Bulldozer with Tessarion (Lowe) - 3yrs Smart lad with a lovely front; long neck into very good lay of shoulder and return of upper arm - again, could have a little more depth in brisket. Moderate rear angulation. Good length of head and depth of muzzle with dark eye and thin, well-set ears. Not quite so clean through the cheek as 1. Moved out well. 3 Jobanker Rocky Road (Poultney) PB (2/0) - Two lovely puppy bitches, presented and handled well - I'm sure both will have bright futures. 1 Mickleview Lay Down Sally (Scott) - 9mnths blue. This young lady took my eye and impressed with her overall balance, lovely length of neck and excellent lay of shoulder, which showed in her light, springy gait. Correct topline, not overdone, and good low tailset, both held on the move. Beautiful, feminine head with excellent length and strength. Neat, thin ears and dark eye. Correct mouth. BP, and I was delighted to watch her take PG2. 2 Maevani Huntress of Spica (Fletcher) - 7mnths blue. Another super one who I liked very much - I just preferred the front construction of 1, but it was a very close decision. Lovely head with correct mouth and super, thin ears, well set. Very good hare foot, narrow horseshoe front and clean through the shoulder. Moved out well. PGB (3/0) 1 Dunkeswell Pepper Dash (Long) - 3yrs blue. Took the class on her front construction - lovely long neck into good lay of shoulder and return of upper arm. Would prefer a little more depth of brisket to balance. Moderate rear angulation. Strong but feminine head with enough length, plenty of fill under the eye, clean cheeks and good depth of underjaw. Correct mouth. Neat, thin ears, held close to cheek. Moved out well. 2 Mickleview After Midnight by Tessarion (Lowe) - 19mnths blue. Smart girl with good body proportions - I just preferred the return of upper arm on 1. Plenty to like with good length of neck and lay of shoulder, correct topline and moderate rear angulation. Horseshoe front and good hare foot. Feminine head with the thinnest of ears, held well. Well-presented and handled. 3 Kentone Pearl Brimstone (Moore) OB (3/0) 1 Janmark Dame Dame Dame (Hanes) - 21mnths blue. This lovely girl took my eye as soon as she floated in the ring. Oozed quality and so well balanced. The best of fronts and a beautiful head flowed to a strong topline with correct rise over loin and excellent rear angulation, topped off with a low set tail, carried well on the move. Being picky, would prefer a shade more depth to brisket. Super, horseshoe front and good hare foot. Beautiful head with length, strength, clean cheeks and super, thin, filbert shaped, well-set ears. Good linty texture to coat with profuse silky topknot and very well presented. Moved around the ring with typical light and springy gait, true both ways and was the best mover today. This took her through to BB and ultimately edged her past dog to BOB. 2 Ratzwell Jolly Jubilee JW (Harris) -3yrs blue. Another smart girl with plenty to like. Good front and return of upper arm. Not quite the topline of 1 and a shade longer. Moderate rear angulation and good tailset. Feminine head with very good depth of muzzle, clean cheeks and plenty under the eye. Moved well. 3 Woolytop Secret Wispa among Wallaroo JW (Porter-Manning & Porter)
