BEDLINGTON JUDGE WELKS 16

Bedlington Terriers
Firstly, thanks to the committee for inviting me to judge and their kind hospitality. Also to my 2 efficient stewards.
It would seem that no matter how many judges remark on poor dental hygiene, some exhibitors are paying no heed. I would also like to say that there were a number of exhibits that looked good on the table but were really let down by their handlers and I was unable to assess their dog’s movement. This isn’t a walk in the park, it’s a Championship dog show and if your dogs head is on the ground then it isn’t going to move around with a light springy action or correct gait.
On the plus side, I found no bad feet or mouths and ears were good and thin.

PD.(4,1)

1. Bannister’s Miteymidets English Dream, Blue of 7 months. Good dark coat with good texture, good for size and length to height ratio. Nice shoulders, needs to drop in chest but I’m sure this will come. Had good angulation front and back allowing for true movement for one so young. Hopeful his tail will drop with maturity, set was OK but carriage not.

2. McNally’s Conekesheved Ironstone Boy, 10 moth old Blue, nice sized boy with a decent jacket, good head and length of neck, nice angulation to shoulders and rear end. A little loose in movement today, has time to settle.

JD. (2,0)

1. Fletcher & Lawson’s Maevani One and Only, Blue with good coat and texture, good for size, clean head and good bite, lengthy neck into good shoulders, well assembled front. Good deep ribs, strong loin and nice angulation to rear. Won this class on movement.

2. Davies’ Honeymist Blue Bols, blue dog of good size, good clean head with correct bite, lovely length of neck leading into well angulated shoulders, chest is deep and flat ribbed. Rear angulation good with hocks set low but today he did not like the cold breeze and was a little erratic in movement.

PGD. (2,0)

1. Mayers Tcheria Causin Tchaos, blue dog of good size and length to height ratio, good head with correct bite, good thin ears, lengthy neck, nice in shoulders with good angulation, nice length of loin and good rear angulation, moved very well with good rear action.

2. Offer’s Woolytop Theodore, blue dog, heavier than 1 and big enough. Good clean head and good bite, lengthy neck, good shoulders and well off for rib. Lost to 1 on movement today

Nice class, with some good dogs

1.Thompson’s Jetsway Bollinger, blue dog with a great jacket, lovely size with good length to height, nice head carried on an elegant lengthy neck with a good bite, thin ears, good front and rear angulation, good depth of chest. Moved well keeping topline and correct tail carriage. Pleased to award him the RCC

2. Butler’s Yarbach Federers Final, blue of good size, nice clean head with thin ears, lengthy neck going into good shoulders, deep flat ribs, good angulation and low set hocks. Moved well with good tail carriage.

OD (3,0)

1. Cummin’s Ch. Rocabec Definitely Maybe, blue dog that I have admire many times, lovely size, correct length to height, lovely head with correct bite, good thin ears, lengthy neck, nice shoulders, deep and flat in rib, nice angulation to the rear, hocks low and moved like he owned the ring, presented and shown perfectly as per normal for this kennel. A lesson in showman ship! CC

2.Rainsbury’s Jetsway Chaser JW ShCM, blue, nice sized dog with lovely dark jacket, good clean head and correct bite, nice length of neck, shorter coupled than 1 but with good deep flat ribs, OK rear angulation, excellent presentation and shown well.

2. Phillips’ Jetsway Fleur of Rathsrigg, Blue bitch, smaller than one, good bite, thin ears, nice length of neck, flat in ribs, good angulation to front okay at rear, moved okay, preferred balance of one.

LB (5,0)

OB (7,1)

Another very nice class

1. Davies’ Honeymist Posh Dreamz, Blue bitch, lovely size, in decent colour, lovely clean head, good bite, thin ears, long reachy neck flowing into lovely shoulders, deep in chest with flat rib, good length of loin, lovely rear angulation, moved very well keeping good top line and correct tail carriage. Owned the ring. I was pleased to award her the CC and BOB. Topped off my day watching her win the Terrier group with a faultless performance.

2. Bannister’s Miteymidgets Going Global JW, Blue bitch, good for size and length to height, good bite, thin ears, nice length if neck, flat ribs. Moved well but not the ring presence of one and a little tail happy. RCC
