BORDER BORDER UNION 10 Judge(s) MISS TRACEY JAMES DCC GRINDELVALD IN FULL CRY JW (MRS M BAILEY) Border Terriers MPD (3) 1 Horner’s Stineval Marashino, upstanding puppy, nice head with strong muzzle, racy & narrow, easily spanned & steady on the move. Would prefer better upper arm angulation; 2 Wallace’s Hobholt Helmsman, straight front with good angulation & deep in brisket. Not as steady on the move; 3 Jackson & Dugdale’s Krikbyvalley Auroa. PD (5) 1 Matthew’s Rexlands Cock Robin, handy size, good handy size, good head & expression, thick double coat, good bone & length of rib, moved true. BPD; 2 Archibald’s Lairehope Lord Of The Glen at Tweedburn, pleasing head, neat front & good rear angulation. Not in the best of coat; 3 Peacock’s Ragatam Let’s Go. JD (9,4a) 1 Alexander’s Glenbucket Clan Chief, like him a lot, strong upstanding dog, narrow throughout, good bone, straight front, level topline, nicely balanced & in good coat, moved very well; 2 Willis’ Badgerbeck Beau Gest, similar to 1 but lost out on movement; 3 Wildey’s Brumborder River Skipp. YD (8,1) 1 Harrison’s Iacheslei Cantus, handy size, easily spanned, balanced & not overdone, good carrot tail, moved & showed well; 2 B Beau Gest; 3 Lowry’s Ravenside Valleymoss. GD (7,1) 1 I Cantus; 2 R Let’s Go, racy, upstanding puppy, narrow but deep. Not as positive as 1 on the move; 3 Hollingsbee’s Xapex Santiago at Otterwood. PGD (5) 1 Anderson’s Minx’s Diamond, pleasing head & expression, up to size, but balanced, narrow, good shoulders & moved well. Lacked sparkle in the challenge; 2 Houston’s Earthwise Wolfbane, smaller type, good front & rear angulation, let down by tailset; 3 Hodgson’s Solitary Mist. LD (13,2) Good class. 1 Bailey’s Grindelvald in Full Cry, just what I was looking for, strong masculine head, racy & narrow with a level topline complemented by a neat carrot tail, excellent condition throughout, light on his feet & moved effortlessly round the ring. DCC & BOB; 2 Johnson & Williams’ Quarryway Dill, excellent specimen & a lot to like, different type to 1, lovely expression, good neck & shoulders, clean balanced outline, very showy, close decision. RCC; 3 Wheatley’s Remony Blue Diamond at Loiriston. OD (7) Another good class, all placed dogs worthy of winning. 1 Culley’s Earthwise Deuteronomy, pleasing head, excellent straight front, narrow throughout, good length of rib, level topline. Coat not at its best. Moved very well; 2 Peacock’s Ch Ragatam Harris, smaller type, in good coat & hard condition, easily spanned. Preferred the racy lines of 1. Showed & moved well; 3 Fryer’s Ch Irton Up Helly Aa. MPB (5) 1 Knight’s Southash Party Knight, beautiful balanced baby, sweet head & expression, narrow straight front, good double coat, one to watch. BP; 2 Horner’s Stineval Santina, smart puppy, narrow racy lines. Would prefer better front angulation. Steady on the move; 3 Wallace’s Hobalt Highlite. PB (7,5) Poor class. 1 Lothian’s Lairehope Sapphire Rose, pretty b/t, handy size, nice head & expression, in excellent coat. Not handled to her advantage; 2 Johnson’s Joncroft Never Unprepared, upstanding bitch, straight front, moved OK. A little on the heavy side & lacked coat. JB (12,3) 1 Armstrong’s Badgerbeck Blizzard at Ploughdown, racy b/t, narrow throughout, good length of rib, nice level topline, good front & rear angulation, strides out on the move. Didn’t move as well in the challenge; 2 Johnson’s & Williams’ Biddestone Poppyseed, handy size, very pretty, lovely expression, balanced throughout, good coat. Lost to 1 on maturity, liked her a lot; 3 Hollingsbee’s Otterwood Blueberri. YB (5) 1 Wright’s Totherend Tonic, smaller type but balanced, pleasing head, good shoulders, level topline & lovely carrot tail, an excellent double coat, moved very well; 2 Houston’s Hollowpoint New Beginning for Earthwise, racy blue, narrow throughout & workmanlike, not as feminine as 1; 3 Archibald’s Plushcourt Retraced. GB (5,1) 1 Hollingsbee’s Otterwood Blueberri, sweet head & expression, good front & rear angulation, in good coat. Would prefer a little more daylight under her; 2 Morgan’s Sextonmagic Tamarind at Taralyon, pleasing expression, narrow throughout & well muscled. Let down by tailset; 3 Fraser’s Achnagairn Smart Card. PGB (9,2) A difficult class. 1 Culley’s Joncroft Scullery Maid at Apasc, racy narrow bitch, carrying a very heavy double coat, strong but feminine head, good length of rib & level topline, moved OK; 2 Johnson’s Joncroft Waterkelpie, smart bitch. Not as narrow as 1 but balanced in outline, moved with purpose; 3 Allison’s Tividale Maple. LB (15,5) A good class. 1 Fryer’s Irton Polka, racy upstanding bitch, lovely otter head, good shoulders, front & rear angulation, carrying an excellent double coat, moved freely round the ring on a loose lead. RBCC; 2 Mitchell’s Ragatam Jasmine at Paleside, smaller type but balanced & easily spanned, very pretty bitch, shown in excellent condition, moved very well; 3 Wade’s Partridgdale Blue Berry. OB (3,1) 1 Gregory’s Ch Remony Barley Twist, strong but feminine head, lovely expression, good bone, straight front, well angulated front & rear, narrow throughout & easily spanned, moved true with good drive from behind. BCC; 2 Fraser & Butler’s Blue Tutu via Ycart, finer type, straight front, narrow throughout, very workmanlike. Not as feminine as 1. Moved very well. Would like to see her with more coat.
