Border Terriers

I was extremely pleased with my main winners who all deserved their placings & I was delighted when I received the news that my BOB winner had gone G2 in the terrier group & my BP had gone PG1.

I had some really good examples of the breed to go over & it is a pleasure when you find an exhibit in a class who really meets all your requirements. Movement in the younger classes was inconsistent some may settle others will not. I had a number of very nice quality Borders who I know will go on to greater things & some promising puppies, I will watch their futures with interest. Coats on the whole were good with most of the exhibits having thick pelts.

MPD (5)

1 Ruth’s Peakrunner Arrows Of Gold, very smart puppy with nice outline, easily spanned, good shoulder & length of body, nice type, super expression;

2 Fielding’s Chatmoss Les Diables Rouges, up to size puppy, nice headed dog, good topline & tailset, coat just going over;

3 Tutin’s Riseburn Retro.

PD (8)

1 Dickinson’s Badgerholme Epsom Jet, best mover in the class, beautifully turned out, in excellent coat, easily spanned, level topline, correct tailset, tight feet, head & expression correct, very nice outline;

2 Massen’s Bramblesgate Razzle Dazzle, another very nice puppy to go over, in correct coat with thick pelt, typical Border head & expression, good reach of neck, easily spanned, nicely put together with no exaggerations;

3 Carr’s Thorneyburn Peace Pipe.

JD (7)

1 Duxbury’s Keycharm Phantom by Ridgebow, well balanced dog, typical Border head, dark eye & keen expression, narrow throughout, easily spanned, level topline, correct carrot tail & tailset, nice turn of stifle, well put together, moved & shown well, true to type, a lot to like. RCC;

2 Guvercin’s Glebeheath Jump The Gun, typical Border head, good reach of neck, ribs carried well back, level topline, correct tailset, good turn of stifle, presented beautifully, super young dog to go over, very nice outline, no exaggerations, so pleased to hear he was so successful in the group. BP & PG1;

3 Higham’s Comberdown Finnegan.

YD (4)

1 Hunt’s Ottaswell Palamedes, up to size Border, narrow throughout, OK on the move, nice head & expression. Just a little out of coat;
