I would like to thank you all for allowing me to go over your dogs and also our Stewards John and Marvin for keeping everything running smoothly enabling me to finish in good time. I have to say that I found movement in a number of classes worrying. Although most dogs looked ok in profile when viewed from the front and rear there were too many moving closely and a few flicking wrists. This was reflected in my placings with the soundest being placed highest. Mouths were good with just one level bite but there were both dogs and bitches which I could not span. Coats were, on the whole, pretty good.

VD (6,1)

1 Baxter’s Mysulan Going Solo. 7yrs b/t with a lovely outline. He has a good head and expression, nice reach of neck into a level topline which he held on the move. His jacket was harsh with a good pelt and he moved out well . Best Veteran.

2 Metcalfe’s Dandyhow Friendly Fire at Chevinor Shcm Shcex. 8.5 yrs gr with a masculine head of correct proportions, good front angulation, level topline, good tailset and hard jacket with thick pelt.

PD (6,1)

1 Fraser & Butler’s Ycart Just to Ground. Racy 8m b/t. His head needs to come but he has time, he has a lovely straight narrow front, good reach of neck flowing into a level topline, good tailset and carriage and bend of stifle. Moved with reach and drive.

2 Guvercin’s Glebeheath Oh Boy 7m g/t with a good head and mouth with large teeth. He too had a straight front excellent topline and tailset but was not as narrow and racy and I just preferred the bend of stifle of 1 although he did push 1 hard.

3 Johnson’s Hightarn Nightfall at Roseghyll.

Two differing types of dog with much to like about both of them.
