BORDER LEEDS 23 Judge: Mr Brian Aubrey BORDER JUDGE LEEDS 23 Thank you all for a wonderful entry, I had to make some difficult choices on the day, but as always, I judge the dog on the day friend or foe and not what the dog has done in the past or what it will do in the future. A few things did concern me on the day (1) so many dirty teeth, (2) a few unfit dogs due to being overweight, (3) and the most concerning is short legs on one or two of the Borders, 1 Guvercin Glebeheath Olaf. 7 1/2 Months old, what a puppy screams Border Terrier even at this age, lovely head, neat ears, dak eyes, correct mouth with good size teeth, gun Barrell front with good bone correct in body, moved very well best puppy dog and Best Puppy In Breed. 1 Forman’s Billy Boy Mayhem This Grizzle puppy 9-months i think in my opinion will go far, very similar to mpd, otter type head, good straight front standing on good feet, easily spanned very good jacket moved well picking hairs for BPD. 2 Jordon-Smith Jordith Roll Up And Shine. Another 10-month-old quality puppy lovely make and shape, dark eyes, correct bite, another with good jacket with thick pelt, played is handler up on the move, liked him a lot. 3 Sneddons Ravenside Play The Game Kersfell. 1 Spafford’s Dassett Igglepiggle. What a stunning otter type head on this young man very strong underjaw, straight front good bone, correct in Shoulders, leading in good length of neck, easily spanned, very bright future for him, final points for his JW today, Congratulations. 2 McKay’s Redesholt Han Solo. Another with lovely head, neat ears, eyes dark, good length of ribs, in excellent jacket, thick pelt, moved well fore and aft will change places on another day. 3 Haughton’s Chorbeck Curtain Call. 1 Guvercin, Glebeheath Oh Boy JW. Grizzle, very smart dog, good front and shoulders leading into good length of neck, deep and narrow in body, spanned easily, correct jacket with thick pelt, moved so well both ways, should go on to do very well. 2 Ramus Tulawyn Garretson By Onthill. Good head with small v shaped ears, correct bite, strong jaw, good bone and feet, correct texture on coat, carrot type tail, moved well, my notes read Two smart dogs. 3 Johnson, Hightarn Nightfall At Roseghyll. 1 Horner’s Stineval Lambert JW. This dog looked good in profile and not disappointed when going over him, grizzle of some quality, loved his head shape for type, correct front standing on neat well-padded feet, good shoulders placement leading in correct neck, ribs well back, racy hindquarters, well-muscled and fit dog, moved with drive my CC Winner told his fourth congratulations. 2 Irving’s Dandyhow Postman Pat, another from the top Draw of this Kennel, good broad skull, strong muzzle, dark eyes correct bite strong underjaw, correct harsh and dense jacket in A1 condition as always, move well both ways. 3 Girling’s Benattivo Charlie Brown. A trio of cracking dogs who will go on to do well I think. 1 Lees, Ch Yorkpiece Fiery Lucifer (imp cze) Blue and Tan with correct ticking, in my mind Screams border terrier, Otter type in Head strong underjaw, lovely front with ample bone, neat feet with thick pads, good length in body well-muscled, moved with Drive i think he could work all day, RCC. 2 Gilpin’s Ch Otterbobs Tolson. I gave a RCC to him from Junior last time I judged and gone on to far better things, grizzle of immense quality from nose to tail, otter head, good front and body lines, for me today didn’t move as well as 1 and I judge how I see it on the day a very worthy champion. 3 Anscombe, Kevrah Orion Seeking Orangbox (Imp Usa). 1 Mcpherson, Ch Brumberhill Back T’Future. Stunning Blue and Tan dog, looking amazing for 8-year-old, little grey around the muzzle but don’t look it or move for his age straight narrow front, great body shape coat of good texture, moved true, best veteran in breed, and group 1 in terrier Veteran. 2 Baxter’s Mysulan Going Solo. Another blue and tan 8-year-old, bigger boy than 1 but all there, still got a good head, dark in eyes, in very good nick and moved so well. 3 Haughton Chorbeck Chatty Man JW ShCM. 1 Swains, Borderrush Clementine For Ardenholm. Young bitch of 12 months, very feminine head, neat ears, enough bone, neat feet, good length in body, harsh jacket coming through moved ok. 2 Oakman Howthwaite Gertrude. 17 months old, good type head, body of good make and shape strong rear quarters, move both ways well. 3 Clements, Howthwaite Times Gone By. 1 Guvercin, Glebeheath Ophelia. Blue and Tan, super young lady who put me under her spell, at such a young age she screams border terrier, I can’t read the future but I predict very good times ahead for her and her siblings, head to die for, neat ears, dark eyes, correct bite with strong teeth punishing underjaw, gun barrel front, neat feet, body needs to develop obviously at this age, moved so well, I given CCs since 1990 this is the youngest, dog/bitch I have ever given a rcc to but i have to judge it as I seen it on the day. 2 Guvercin, Glebeheath Olga. Litter sister to above their Brother won mpd hell of a litter, light grizzle, all the same remarks as 1 but a different Colour, thought 1 moved that little better on the day, will change places with different judges. 3 Malcome & Knowles Liatch Tenacious. 1 Gilpin, Otterbobs Beatrix. Very smart puppy, future looks bright for the breed, out of Jacket today but i could feel some texture coming through, another one of quality, lovely feminine otter type head, neat ears, dark eyes, correct bite, very good straight front, with good bone. Moved very well. 2 Fryers Irton Marmalade. 9-month-old, Different in type than 1, in full jacket of very good colour, I would like to see more length in leg but she still young i hope she will grow on some, another with typical head, lovely body shape and moved well liked her a lot. 1 Brewster and Greens Stowthorney These Days. 14-month-old of good quality, loved her head, good straight front thick pads, good shoulder placement, correct length in neck, easily spanned, thick pelt, carroty tail, moved well both ways in, in excellent condition very smart. 2 Spafford’s Dassett Upsy Daisy. I had to ask were they sisters, told they were ½ sisters they look so much alike, so similar remarks as 1, they could be twins, again in brilliant condition and moved with drive both ways, they will change places many times. 3 Swains, Borderrush Clementine For Ardenholm. 1 Anscombes, French Fancy Avec Orangbox light grizzle, loved her make and shape, very feminine, neat head, straight front, tidy feet, spanned easily, in good coat with correct undercoat, thick pelt, well carried ribs, good in stifles, moved well fore and aft. 2 Goldings Beaconpike Solstice. As always from this exhibitor his dogs are always so fit and do a day’s work, in full coat that may not last that much longer, she’s my type of bitch i used for working, good bone, neat feet thick pads, very active on the move, I think she will go to the top, nit picking between these two. 3 Baxter’s Mysulan Rhapsody In Blue. 1 Vaughans Holteal Halfpenny Worth. Liked this smart bitch, otter type head, correct neat ears, good straight narrow front, correct in shoulders, thick pelt, excellent harsh dense jacket, moved out well. 2 Jacksons Earthtaw Making Magic With Clipstone, bigger than 1, but a very smart bitch, looked great in profile and moving, her harsh dense Jacket was in very good nick, another who moved so wall both ways. 3 Pateman Fiery Lucifer Decent To Lessien (Cze imp) 1 Lees Bohamer York’ist Celeste By Tythrop. For me this bitch has got the wow factor, Blue and tan she has a stunning head, neat ears, correct bite, strong big teeth with good underjaw, straightest of legs with good bone standing on good feet with thick pads, good shoulders leading into neck of correct length, that leading into topline that’s carrying a first-class double and harsh jacket lovely tail set with correct tail , moved with purpose, pleased to give her the CC her 4th I was told I also gave her Best In Breed. 2 Greenways Foxcourt Amber Spirit Gambler. this bitch took my eye when she came into the ring very workman like, Dark Grizzle, of Quality in my eyes, her head pleased me, enough bone, neat feet, in good quality jacket moved well both ways. 3 Malcom’s and Knowles Sweet Ebony Princess At Liatch. 1 Stevens Ch Cobstonway Love Song JW ShCM. Seen this bitch many times through her Journey, can’t believe she is a veteran already, always admired her, she always put down to perfection by this exhibitor, she still got a true border head, correct front, lovely jacket easily spanned moved so well unlucky to meet the Veteran dog on the day, 2 Watson & Kenna, Ger/Nl Ch Cynetkoy Pillow Talk. 7 1/2 -year-old another doesn’t look her age, lovely otter type head, in good jacket moved well carrying a little more weight than 1 today. 3 Johnsons, Crosby Dark Duchess At Roseghyll. |
