I would like to thank the Manchester Dog Show Society, as well as Kate & Ronnie Irving who were my hosts while in Britain, I thoroughly enjoyed my judging & your hospitality.

MPD (7,2a)

1 Baxter’s Mysulan Going Solo, nicely well balanced, moved well. Good headed with a strong scissors bite. Good bone, with nice feet & good pads. BP;

2 Lowry’s Ravenside Starman, did not show, on the day, as well as 1. Nice head with nice eye, & good bite. Overall a nice young pup also;

3 Haughton’s Chorbeck Chatty Man.

PD (4,1)

1 Anscombe’s Orangebox Dark Energy, excellent coat & hide. Nice front & shoulder, & rib carried well back. Tail nicely set on;

2 Johnson’s Karison Kosta, preferred the head over that of 1. Seemed a little heavy in body on the day;

3 McCall’s Brumborder Willow Balm.

JD (7)

1 Barber’s Alcumlow Parsley, very sound throughout, with ribs carried well back. Strong bite & a good eye. Lovely jacket on the day. Good topline. Driving, & strong in rear;

2 Hamilton’s Stineval Basil of Cromlechs, lovely hide & jacket, balanced with good flowing outline of head into neck into shoulder with nice bone. Appealing otterlike head;

3 Fawcett’s Carrock Carnegie.

PGD (12,3)

1 Metcalfe’s Dandyhow Friendly Fire at Chevinor, well built front & rear, good rib carriage with great balance & a good topline. Lovely appealing head. Nice jacket & hide a little heavy coated on the day;

2 Castel’s Flutorum Artful Dodger, good eye with a nice strong backskull, nice expression. Good rib well carried back. A little short on coat on the day;

3 Keeffe’s Keebank Charlie’s Diamond.

LD (11,1)

1 Waller’s Question Master, lovely balance, easily spannable, good topline, preferred movement over 2 as well as head. Great drive in rear;

2 Clark’s Gameway McVitie, also nice head & good movement; 3 Hopper’s I Esyntona Reindeer Moss.

OD (10,2)

1 Hall & Ellis’ Ch Brackenfell Bok To Bach, nicely balanced throughout, very sound & fit. Beautiful head. Driving short hocks. Spot on in presentation, & showed enthusiastically throughout while in the ring. CC & BOB;

2 Stockley’s Ch Foxfactor Pied Piper, also very sound, a serviceable dog with a little less bone than 1. Has nice head & eye. Preferred hock of 1 over 2. RCC;

3 Spencer’s Ch Cobstoneway River Magic.

VD (3,1)

1 Fryer’s Ch Irton Up Helly Aa, still competitive, nice dog throughout. In heavy coat on the day with a great hide. Preferred head & movement over 2

2 South’s Borderella Day Tripper, also still competitive, with a good head.

MPB (13,1)

1 McDowell’s McBrock Chantilly Chateau, showing well, good bite. Preferred bone over

2 South’s Imperterrito Agenda by Borderella, also showed well, good bite;

3 Mooney’s Chesterton Caboodle.

PB (14)

1 Brannan & Kelly’s Brankell Double Or Quits, nice young bitch, should do well. Good jacket & hide. Good tail, nicely set on. Preferred head over 2, especially the foreface. BPB;

2 Straw’s Regaltwist Lithodora Shaolin, also nice young bitch, nice topline with flow from head into neck into shoulder. Nice jacket & hide;

3 Pickering’s Picer Flora McIvor.

JB (13,1)

1 Fryer’s Irton Scotch Mist, strong & feminine bitch. Nice otterlike head. Good tail set & length. A little overcoated on the day;

2 Dixon’s Foxcraig Magic Diamond, also a strong feminine bitch with a good head. Good bone, nice feet & pads. A little undercoated on the day;

3 Ritchie’s Ianteg Red Rubi.

PGB (16,2)

1 Ruth’s Hemlockstone Diana at Bowencloud, best movement in class. Well built & balanced. Good forechest. Very good jacket. Preferred head & expression over 2. Also preferred feet & pads over 2. RCC;

2 Foulger’s Byrewick Princess Kate, similar in many traits to 1. Also very nice bitch;

3 Freeman’s Borderella Snap Dragon.

LB (16,2)

1 Roberts’ Smalesmouth Skylark, liked for balance & movement. Moderate head with good teeth, bite & expression;

2 Hall & Ellis’ Beaconpike Night Sky at Brackenfell, nice bitch, a little reluctant to show. Nice expression with great topline & very nice tail;

3 B Princess Kate.

OB (15,2)

1 Sansom’s Ch Tarkaswell Double Agent, refined bitch but not over fine in bone. Good balance throughout & excellent movement. Nice carrot like tail well set on. Preferred head over 2. CC;

2 Freeman’s Borderella Snap Dragon, overall a nice bitch. Lost on head & eye to 1;

3 Lowry’s Ravenside Time Passes.

VB (3,1)

1 Baxter’s Am/Can/Int Ch Sulan Fancy That, good movement front & rear. Rib well carried back & proper spring of rib. Good jacket & hide;

2 Quinn’s Stonelynn Miss Polly, nice head with good Border expression. Also good coat & hide. Lost to 1 on rib & movement.
