BORDER SKC MAY 24 Judge: Miss R BARBER BORDER JUDGE SKC MAY 24 SClass 49 MPD (7 Entries) Abs: 1 8mth old grizzle male, well put together, narrow, good depth of chest and well ribbed back, came off the hand nicely. Pleasing head with flat skull and strength to jaw. Came into his own on the move with an effortless stride. Shown in good jacket with a thick pelt. Pleasing youngster, will watch him with interest as he matures. 6mth old blue and tan puppy, another pleasing puppy, different type to 1. Lovely dog to go over, narrow, flexible and well ribbed back. Well angulated front and rear, level topline and good tailset with a short carroty tail. Moved out well with an easy stride. Class 50 PD (5 Entries) Abs: 1 This puppy took my eye as soon as he entered the ring, such a balanced and well constructed youngster. Pleasing otter like head, with a flat skull and not overdone, dark eye with a keen expression. Excellent front angulation, good length of neck, level topline and enough rear angulation to produce that balanced picture. Narrow and well ribbed back, easily spannable. Tight feet and good lay of pastern, moved out well covering the ground. A very promising youngster who I am sure has a very bright future BPD. Class 51 JD (10 Entries) Abs: 3 13mth old grizzle dog, smart boy, presented well and showed beautifully today. Good head, with flat skull, neat ears and a strong jaw. Excellent shoulder placement, narrow body of good length and level topline, short carrot tail. Moved out well with an effortless stride. Another smart youngster, shown in good jacket with thick pelt. Pleasing head, flat skull and dark eye and keen expression. Good front and rear angulation, level topline, narrow and well ribbed back. Moved out well, straight and true. Class 52 YD (5 Entries) Abs: 1 Quality young male, shown in perfect coat and condition, active and game, I could see this boy doing his job. Narrow throughout, well ribbed back, enough length and flexible, a lovely dog to go over. Good head with flat skull and a keen dark eye. Level topline and correct tailset, enough rear angulation to balance the picture. Pushed hard in the challenge. Another quality male with an excellent coat and pelt, essentially a working terrier, again another who I could see doing his job. Good head with flat skull, alert expression, short strong muzzle and lovely neat ears. Excellent front angulation, narrow throughout a lovely fluid dog to handle on the table. Moved out well. It was a close decision, just didn’t quite get it together as well on the move today as 1.
Very nice grizzle male, excellent type and shown in beautiful coat and condition. Excellent front angulation, good depth of chest and ribbed back well. Level topline, short carrot shaped tail. Nice head with flat skull and a keen eye and expression. Moved out well covering the ground. Another nice grizzle male, of different type to 1. In excellent jacket with thick pelt. Good shoulder placement, well ribbed back and level topline. Nice flat skull, dark eyes and neat ears. Moved out well. Class 54 LD (8 Entries) Abs: 0 Blue and tan male in excellent coat, a true blue. Quality male who caught my eye in this class with his active and game character. Good head with flat skull and a keen alert expression. Excellent level topline and short carroty tail, good rear angulation. A narrow dog, well ribbed back. Moved out well covering the ground with purpose. Another quality male, not much coat today. Pleasing head with flat skull and neat ears, keen and alert expression. Excellent shoulders and good rear angulation, narrow body, well ribbed back. Moved out well with vigour. Class 55 OD (8 Entries) Abs: 2 Quality dog, essentially a working terrier as well as a true showman, he was on his toes the whole time, shown in perfect jacket with thick pelt, could not be denied the class today. Otter like head with flat skull, neat ears, strong jaw and keen dark eyes producing that keen alert expression. Good length of neck into excellent shoulders, good depth of chest and well ribbed back, narrow throughout, a fluid dog to go over. Level topline with correct tailset, short carrot shaped tail, good rear angulation to finish that balanced picture. He moved out beautifully, such a sound, effortless gait, certainly capable of following a horse. This dog gave 100% in the challenge and it was my pleasure to award him that 3rd CC. Another quality male who I have judged before and he didn’t disappoint the second time round. Another dog who I could see doing his job, essentially a working terrier, active and game. Good head with flat skull, strong jaw, dark eyes and keen expression. Excellent front angulation, well ribbed back and narrow throughout, another that was so fluid to go over. Moved out well with gameness, covering the ground with ease. Pleased to award him another RCC. Class 56 VD (4 Entries) Abs: 0 Blue and tan male in fabulous condition and a beautiful blue coat. Traditional head with flat skull and strong jaw. Good front, level topline, narrow and well ribbed back. Moved out well with an effortless stride. Another quality blue and tan male, good head with flat skull and good strength to jaw and alert expression. Good length to body, well ribbed back and narrow throughout. Excellent harsh coat, shown in great condition. Moved out effortlessly.
1st - Chadbrook Torsten (C Macgregor) Stylish dog with a lovely head, nice flat skull and keen expression. Good front angulation, straight front legs and neat feet. Level topline, good rib and nice tailset and short tail, good rear angulation. Moved out well. Another nice grizzle male who I placed in PGD. Nice head with flat skull and strong muzzle, keen dark eyes and neat ears. Nice bodylines with good front angulation, narrow throughout and well ribbed back. Moved out well. Class 58 GCD NO ENTRIES Class 59 MPB (9 Entries) Abs: 2 A quality 7 month old grizzle bitch, a balanced puppy, presented today in perfect jacket. Nice head with strong jaw and keen expression, good length of neck into well placed shoulders, enough bone, good pasterns and neat feet. Narrow throughout, well ribbed back with good length to give her the correct flexibility. Level topline, correct tailset and excellent rear angulation. She moved out beautifully, covering the ground well. Pleased to award her BPIB and I was delighted to watch her get TPG3. Another quality puppy, these two could easily swap places on a different day. Presented well and shown in good jacket with thick pelt. I particularly liked her traditional head, with flat skull and a keen, alert expression. Excellent front angulation, good bone and lay of pastern and neat feet. Narrow throughout, well ribbed back with plenty of flexibility. A lovely mover with an effortless stride. Class 60 PB (7 Entries) Abs: 0 A quality puppy bitch, well balanced and shown in excellent coat. Lovely bitch to go over, good front angulation, narrow, well ribbed back, good length to body, level topline and excellent rear angulation. Nice short carrot tail. Nice head with keen expression and flat skull. Moved out well, covering the ground. Another balanced puppy of excellent type. Lovely ottery head with dark eyes and keen expression. Good shoulder placement, narrow and well ribbed back, level topline and correct tailset. Shown in good coat with thick pelt. Moved out well with purpose. Close decision between 1 & 2. Class 61 JB (10 Entries) Abs: 2 Quality bitch, caught my eye the second she entered the ring, I have admired her from ringside as a puppy and when I put my hands on her she did not disappoint. Balanced bitch, correct size and shown in excellent coat. Lovely ottery head, with dark eyes and keen expression and a flat skull. Good length of neck into well laid shoulders, enough bone, good pasterns and neat feet. Excellent topline, narrow throughout and well ribbed back, nice length to her to give good flexibility, excellent rear angulation. Moved out beautifully, covering the ground. She pushed hard in the challenge and I was delighted to award her the RCC. This bitch will go far, I will watch her with interest. Another lovely bitch of good type. I liked her head and keen expression. Correct shoulder placement, narrow with good depth of chest and well ribbed back. Good topline and tailset. Moved out well, covering the ground with ease. Class 62 YB (12 Entries) Abs: 0 Quality bitch, turned out today in perfect coat and condition and showed her socks off, she stood out in this class. Balanced bitch with no exaggeration, correct size. Good head with flat skull and strength to jaw. Pleasing length of neck, into well laid shoulders, enough bone, correct pastern and neat feet. Narrow bodylines, well ribbed back and good length to her body. Level topline and good tailset, with short carroty tail, well angulated rear. Moved out well, effortless stride, covering the ground well. Delighted to award her that all important 3rd CC. Nice bitch of correct size and well balanced throughout, unfortunately lacking coat today. Good head with a keen expression and neat ears. Good front angulation, level topline and tailset, narrow and well ribbed back. Moved out well with an effortless stride. Class 63 PGB (9 Entries) Abs: 1 I really enjoyed going over this bitch, quality bodylines, narrow with excellent rib and good length to body. Excellent, traditional head with flat skull, dark eyes, keen expression and excellent strength to jaw. Excellent front assembly, good topline and racy rear. Moved out well, covering the ground. Pleased to hear that these were the final points she needed to gain her JW, very well deserved. Another quality bitch, good head with flat skull and dark eyes. Nice front assembly, narrow body, well ribbed back, level topline. Shown in good jacket. Moved out well, covering the ground. Class 64 LB (13 Entries) Abs: 0 A blue bitch in excellent coat with a true blue colour and thick pelt. Good head with strong jaw, flat skull and keen expression. Narrow bitch, well ribbed back, excellent topline and tailset and good short carroty tail. This bitch came into her own on the move and won this class on her effortless movement, covering the ground with ease. Another quality bitch of nice size. Good head with keen dark eyes, flat skull and good strength to jaw. Nice length of neck and excellent shoulder placement, narrow throughout with good rib, level topline and good tailset and rear angulation. She moved out well with an effortless stride. Class 65 OB (13 Entries) Abs: 1 Good quality bitch shown today in excellent coat with such a thick pelt. Good head with flat skull and strong jaw. Beautiful bodylines, narrow, well ribbed back, level topline and good tailset with nice short tail, overall balanced bitch. She moved out well, covering the ground, pushed hard in the challenge. Another quality bitch of excellent type, tough decision between 1 & 2. Beautiful head with keen, alert expression and dark eye. Well angulated shoulders, enough bone and good pasterns. Narrow bodylines, well ribbed back with correct depth to chest. Level topline with short, well set tail, excellent rear angulation. Active and game bitch with vigour on the move. Class 66 VB (5 Entries) Abs: 0 A fit and well presented veteran bitch who certainly can move. Classic head with nice flat skull, dark eyes and strong jaw. Good length of neck, excellent shoulders, narrow throughout and well ribbed back, good length to her body giving her that flexibility, a joy to go over. A balanced bitch, who came together beautifully on the move, covering the ground well. Pleased to award her BVIB. Another nice bitch in excellent coat and condition. Lovely head with flat skull and keen expression. Excellent front assembly, level topline and well angulation rear. Moved out well with an effortless gait. Class 67 SBB (6 Entries) Abs: 0 Nice size bitch in good coat. Lovely head with flat skull and keen expression. Good length of neck and correct front angulation. Good rib, narrow throughout, nice level topline with good tailset. Moved out well. Nice bitch, shown in full jacket today. Flat skull and keen expression, neat ears. Good front angulation, level topline, good rib. Moved out well and handled to perfection. Class 68 GCB (1 Entries) Abs: 0 Judge: Miss R BARBER
