BORDER SOUTHERN COUNTIES 10 Judge(s) TINNA GRUBBE [DENMARK] DCC CH IRTON UP HELLY AA (MR & MRS D & A FRYER) Border Terriers It was an honour to be asked to judge Border Terriers at the Southern Counties Canine Association Club, awarding CCs for the first time. A great entry, I thoroughly enjoyed my day & was very pleased with my main winners. The overall quality was good, some heads & expressions were uncharacteristic of the breed. A head like that of an otter is the stamp of the breed. MP (3) 1 Buckle & Flowers’ Bingo Bongo Hollywood Blues, very nice otterhead with keen expression, nice topline, well angulated, nice all over, good bones & good movement; 2 Girling’s Benattivo Stitch In Time, nice puppy, topline & movement must improve, very good coat; 3 Jenkins’ Bagderbeck Bronco. P (5) 1 Spenser’s Cobstoneway River Magic, nice size, good head & expression, correct bite, very good front, neck & length of body, moves very well. Could have a little more temperament; 2 B Bongo Hollywood Blues; 3 Pickering’s Picer King Edward. J (7,2a) 1 Ramus’ Onthill Super Trouper, nice type & size, good expression, good skull, very good bones, nice coat, moves well. A little close in front; 2 Martin’s Bortino High Society, nice size & expression, nice construction, short but good coat. Needs training on the table; 3 Ramus’ Onthill Fernando. Y (5,2) 1 Anscombe’s Orangebox Firecracker, very typical otterhead, well placed dark eyes, correct bite, good expression, nice topline & tailset, very good mover, good coat; 2 South’s Borderella Day Tripper, ok type, nice head, well placed eyes & ears. A little upright in shoulder & needs to settle on the move; 3 Bailey’s Eltonfurze Pringle. G (4,1) 1 Warneford’s Take It From Here, nice size, would prefer a little stronger foreface. Correct bite, nice length of body. Could have stronger bones, moves well; 2 Peacock’s Ragatam Let’s Go, good size, eyes could be darker. Correct bite, OK neck. Moves well, but a little close in front; 3 Haydon & Gibbings’ Badgerbeck Fresco of Earthtaw. PG (7,2) 1 T It From Here; 2 Newmann’s Nookshot Highland Toffee, up to size dog, but well constructed, very good coat, nice mover. A little close in front; 3 Channer’s Mingrovia Flintstone Chief at Rubyfin. L (15,3) 1 Irving’s Dandyhow Beeline, nice size with very good temperament, beautiful otterhead, correct length of body, well angulated behind, full coat; 2 Dean’s Digmoor Captain Rook by Tyrian, nice size, spannable, good topline & tailset. A little flat in feet. Nice mover; 3 Johnson & Williams’ Quarryway Dill. O (6) 1 Fryer’s Ch Irton Up Helly AA, I like him a lot, nice all over red dog, attractive otterhead with good expression, very good coat, real nice mover. CC; 2 Clark’s Ch Gameway Charles Dickens, very nice dog, good size, nice head, correct bite, nice topline, good coat; 3 Peacock’s Ch Ragatam Harris. Good length, well angulated behind, nice coat; 3 Aldis’ Torryborn Tickled Pink.
