BORDER SOUTHERN COUNTIES 11 Judge(s) MR J R GILPIN DCC CLIPSTONE TAILOR (E & J JACKSON) BORDER JUDGE SOUTHERN COUNTIES 11 Border Terriers MPD (4) 1 Woolacott’s Tufterslodge Ososimple, good head, nice length of neck, narrow chest & pleasing bodylines; 2 Dickinson’s Ragatam Newmarket at Badgerholme, 6 months. Not as strong in head as 1. Made on racy lines, level topline with tailset on high & thick carrot tail; 3 Warneford’s Hartswelin Houdini. PD (5) 1 Hales’ Hoathwood Habanero, masculine head with strong muzzle, strong in body, moved with drive. BP; 2 Wilson Olderhill Afortunado, very typy, narrow forechest, good lay of shoulder, easily spanned with ribs carried well back. Just preferred strength of 1; 3 Higham’s Comberdown Curragh. JD (8) 1 Docwra’s Bandicoot Double Take, good head, nicely balanced & easily spanned, nice topline & narrow in flank; 2 Jenkins’ Badgerbeck Pablo, bl/t, harshest of coats. Made on slightly taller line than 1; 3 McPherson’s Brumberhill Brigadoon. YD (3) 1 Holmes’ Bingobongo Wicked Widget at Bimandi, red grizzle in good coat, ribs carried well back, good hind angulation; 2 Woodman’s Fortyacre Pharo, wearing short red coat. Made on much bigger lines than 1. GD (7) 1 Stevens’ Creswickes Whot A Dandy, bl/t with harsh coat, broad skull & strong muzzle, ears dropping forward & close to cheek, ribs carried well back & nice shape to flank; 2 Mathews’ Rexlands Cock Robin, another good head, workman like in size, easily spanned, good topline with short tail; 3 Fulker’s Foxpaw Brilliant Disguise. PGD (8) 1 South’s Borderella Day Tripper, masculine head with broad skull, nice length of neck, narrow shoulders & front, lovely dog. With little more sparkle would go far; 2 Ramus’ Onthill Fernando, nice workman type, jacket in full bloom, harsh & thick pelt; 3 Singh’s Ragatam Lets Go over Borderbridge. LD (9) 1 Jackson’s Clipstone Tailor, one thing that struck me was how well balanced he was when I lifted him off the table, lovely otter head, narrow front with catlike feet, easily spanned, nice length of loin, tailset on high, good angulation, moved true. CC; 2 Sharp’s Radnorvalley Goshawk of Rhozzum, slightly taller than 1. Nice head & expression, narrow front, excellent topline & tailset on high, ribs carried back on slim body; 3 Dean’s Digmoor Captain Rook by Tyrian. OD (4) 1 Regan’s Digmoor Ace’s High, best of jackets & condition, masculine head, nicely boned, strode out well & presented lovely picture. RCC; 2 Johnson & Williams’ Quarryway Dill, nicely balanced, good otter head with broad muzzle, flat in rib & spannable, moved well. Just losing out on coat; 3 Newsome’s Kighill Mister Clooney. V (5) 1 Jackson’s Ch Clipstone Hard Cash, good harsh dark grizzle coat, nice length of neck & shoulders, body absolutely narrow; 2 Channer’s Gwingwilli Little Owl at Rubyfin, feminine head with narrow muzzle, lightly boned & easily spanned. MPB (8) 1 Clark’s Gameway Dragonfly, nice feminine head, good body shape & outline, well angulated & moved well; 2 Peacock’s Ragatam Nutmeg, nice youngster, good head & expression, nice lay of shoulder & good body shape & outline, moved true. Just loosing out on coat; 3 Haydon & Gibbings’ Earthtaw Catkin. PB (7) 1 Southam’s Southash Hollywood Girl, very typical head, nice shoulders, ribs carried well back, nicely balanced, good harsh double coat; 2 Dean’s Tyrian Amulet, very close between these 2, good head with alert expression, nice front with narrow rib & body, moved soundly; 3 South’s Tameila Penny Lane by Borderella. JB (14) 1 Day’s Withershins Daddies Girl, feminine head, nice fold of ear with good scissor bite, handy size, ribs carried well back & slender in loin, short tail, moved with ease; 2 Roberts’ Badgerbeck Fiasco, dark red harsh coat, similar attributes as 1. Just little thicker in loin; 3 Armstrong’s Blewcourt Manhattan at Ploughdown. YB (10) 1 Bladen’s Foxyard Better Behaved at Emblehope, lovely harsh bl/t coat, nice length of neck sweeps down into shoulders, good bodylines with superb carrot shaped tail; 2 Jackson’s Cobstoneway Moon River at Clipstone, nice head with broad skull, nice reach of neck, excellent topline & tailset on high. Just loosing out on coat; 3 Hamilton’s Gameway Take A Bow. GB (11) 1 Roberts’ Smalesmouth Maylady, lovely head & expression, very typy with correct proportions, racy bodylines, moved well; 2 Johnson’s Karison Kokoa, dark grizzle, ideal working size, keen expression, narrow chest & tight feet; 3 May & Whisker’s Thistlestone Jenny Wren. PGB (10) 1 Johnson & Williams’ Biddestone Poppyseed, lovely size, not over powering, very workman like, broad skull & muzzle, game expression, narrow front with tight feet, very easily spanned, ribs carried well back, nice shape of loin, good topline & tailset on high, nice angulation, moved with ease. RCC; 2 Taylor’s Lutrabeck Layla, dark grizzle, very sound. Made on bigger lines; 3 Taylor’s Vallemoss Rock N Roll Baby. LB (20) 1 Dean’s Digmoor Kindred Spirit for Tyrian, made on racy lines, narrow from head to tail, would be able to crawl into tightest of places. Maybe little too long in body. Nice to go over; 2 Docwra’s Bandicott Jazz, lovely otter head with strong neck, nice lay of shoulder, good front, narrow ribs & good shape to body. Just loosing out on coat; 3 Sharp’s Rhozzum User Friendly. OB (11) 1 Clark’s Ch Southash Blue Betty Boo Gameway, lovely broad head with bright eyes, good double coat with plenty of room to move in, excellent size & bodylines, looked picture in profile on the move. CC & BOB; 2 Dean’s Yeomeadows Heather for Tyrian, another b/t in excellent coat, pleasing head, made on racy lines, easily spanned, nice shape of rib, good topline & tailset on high, moved with drive; 3 Jenkins’ Badgerbeck Fantacy.
