The quality throughout was excellent, I found no bad mouths , movement was fine except for a few who were a little bit loose in front, but coats were very varied. Vet D (3,1) 1 Taylor's Dymanti Roman Warrior At Nottorg Sh.CM. 7 year old grizzle dog, nice head, good coat and pelt, moved well, still easily spanned. 2 Anderson's Minx's Diamond, 11 years old, another grizzle, keen expression, nice scissor bite moved with drive, coat not as good as 1. MPD (4,2) 1 Guvercin's Glebeheath Just A Gigolo, 9 month old grizzle dog, keen expression, healthy teeth, good coat and pelt, well bent stifle, moved with plenty of drive. 2 Rankin's Skypoppykenaiteenfunkyfrappe, 7 month old red dog, head and jaw strong, moved ok, lacking a little in coat. PD (5) 1 Spafford's Dassett Last Waltz, 10 month old red dog, nice head and teeth, decent length of neck, harsh coat and thick loose pelt, moved well going away and coming back. 2 Matthews Tojamatt Taboo, 11 month blue and tan, head good, nice strong teeth, well ribbed, level topline maintained even on the move but didn't move as well as 1. 3 hyslop's Rocksam At Raisbeck JD (5,1) 1 Matthews Tojamatt Taboo. 2 Irving's Dandyhow Captain Morgan, grizzle dog, head ok, keen expression, nice teeth, well presented, everything in the right place but would have liked a bit more drive. 3 Pollit's Brackenfell Rock The Boat For Vandemere GD (1) 1 Single's Brackenfell Born To Be Alive. Grizzle dog, stood on his own in the class, head ok, correct bite, nice front angulation, coat and pelt ok, moved well. PGD (4,1) 1 Armstrong's Lynsett Lewis. Blue and tan dog, keen expression, big clean teeth, good length of neck,, strong bone, coat of correct texture, moved with drive. LD (8) 1 Alexander & Anderson's Glenbucket Highland Lad red dog , loved his head , keen eye, strong teeth with correct bite, good length of neck and body, ribs carried well back, well bent stifle, harsh coat and dense undercoat, moved with plenty of drive. DCC & BOB 2 Fleming's Cedarhill Ghost Writer JW grizzle dog, very close decision in this class, the same comments as for 1 but preferred the coat of 1. RDCC. 3 Spafford's Oakyard Out And About At Dassett OD (9,1) 1 Matthews Tojamatt Moriarty, another quality class, red dog with nice head and pleasing expression, strong scissor bite, ribs carried well back, easily spanned, coat and pelt ok, movedwell. 2 Jackson's Clipstone Starshine, quality grizzle dog, nice head, well placed shoulders, well muscled hind quarters which helped him to move with drive, good coat and pelt. 3 Guvercin's Baillieswells Glengyle At Glebeheath JW Vet B (2) 1st Jackson's Ch Cobstoneway Moon River At Clipstone, 9 year old grizzle bitch, lovely head and feminine expression, nicely placed shoulders, ribs carried well back, , tail carried correctly, well bent stifle which helped with her movement which was great, harsh coat and thick pelt. BCC & BV 2 Hyslop's Baywillow Brown Braid Sh.CM, 7 year old grizzle bitch, another good looking oldie , pleasing head and expression, good lay of shoulders ,ribs carried well back, coat and pelt ok, moved well. MPB (7,1) 1 Lorraine's Otterpaws Take It Easy With Raleniro, 7 month grizzle bitch pleasing head, very feminine, good bite, ribs carried well back, racy hind quarters, coat and pelt ok, moved well. 2 Hollingsbee's Otterwood Diodem, 8 month red bitch, same comments as 1 but movement not as good. 3 Thomas Rhozzum Winter Rose PB (4,1) 1 Anderson's Glenbucket Highland Queen, 9 month grizzle, very pleasing feminine head, correct bite, nice length of neck, well laid back ribs, racy hind quarters, good coat and pelt, moved very well. Should have a good future. BP 2 Atkinson's Esyntona Codeword Vandamere, 12 month old blue and tan, again a pleasing feminine head and strong correct teeth well laid back ribs, well bent stifle, coat and pelt ok, moved well, preferred the overall quality of 1. JB (3,1) 1 Guvercin's Glebheath Fingers On Lips, grizzle bitch, nice head and expression, clean strong teeth, keen eye, nice straight front, easily spanned, racy hindquarters, good coat and pelt, moved well once she had settled down. 2 Atkinson's Esyntona Codeword Vandemere GB (3,1) 1 Anscombe's Gameway French Fancy Avec Orangebox, red bitch, nice head, teeth and neck which was of good proportiion, ribs carried well back, racy hindquarters good coat and pelt, moved well. 2 Taylor's Nottorg Nostalgia, grizzle bitch again very pleasing, similar to 1 but coat not as good. PGB (4) 1 Greenway's Amber Spirit Gambler, grizzle bitch, very feminine, nice head, correct bite, nice length of neck, good bend of stifle, coat good, moved well. 2 Taylor's Angelica To Nottorg Sh.CM, grizzle, head good , teeth in good condition with correct bite, well laid back ribs, very similar to 1 but coat not as good. 3 Lorraine's Raleniro New Rose LB (6,2) 1 Ramus Argentail Titania By Onthill grizzle bitch with a pleasing feminine expression, correct bite, good length of neck, ribs well back, good bend of stifle movedwell, harsh coat, thick undercoat. 2 Baird's Tojamatt Debutante For Dowgri Sh.CM, grizzle bitch nice head and teeth, nice reach of neck, well carried ribs, racy hindquarters, good coat and pelt moved well, but preferred the movement of 1 3 Fulker's Foxpaw Revelation JW OB (6,2) 1 Service's Marsirdan Jemima Puddle red bitch with very pleasing feminine head, strong teeth with correct bite, good length of neck, well laid back ribs, racy hindquarters which enabled her to move with drive, overall a well balanced bitch, would have liked a little bit more coat hence only RBCC. 2 Stevens Cobstoneway Love Song JW Sh.CM, grizzle bitch with broad feminine head, large scissor bite teeth, nice length of neck, straight narrow front, well bent stifle, Moved well, harsh double coat. 3 Baird's Dowgri Demelza Sh.CM Judge David Maggs Go To Top Of Page

I would like to thank The Welsh Kennel Club for inviting me to judge Borders at their show when the original judge Mr Bill Brown-Cole dropped out through illness, it is 13 years since I judged this show last and I must say that I enjoyed it just as much as the first time. The quality throughout was excellent, I found no bad mouths , movement was fine except for a few who were a little bit loose in front, but coats were very varied.

Vet D (3,1)

1 Taylor's Dymanti Roman Warrior At Nottorg Sh.CM. 7 year old grizzle dog, nice head, good coat and pelt, moved well, still easily spanned. 2 Anderson's Minx's Diamond, 11 years old, another grizzle, keen expression, nice scissor bite moved with drive, coat not as good as 1.

MPD (4,2)

1 Guvercin's Glebeheath Just A Gigolo, 9 month old grizzle dog, keen expression, healthy teeth, good coat and pelt, well bent stifle, moved with plenty of drive.

1 Single's Brackenfell Born To Be Alive. Grizzle dog, stood on his own in the class, head ok, correct bite, nice front angulation, coat and pelt ok, moved well.

1 Alexander & Anderson's Glenbucket Highland Lad red dog , loved his head , keen eye, strong teeth with correct bite, good length of neck and body, ribs carried well back, well bent stifle, harsh coat and dense undercoat, moved with plenty of drive. DCC & BOB

2 Fleming's Cedarhill Ghost Writer JW grizzle dog, very close decision in this class, the same comments as for 1 but preferred the coat of 1. RDCC.

3 Spafford's Oakyard Out And About At Dassett

OD (9,1)

1 Matthews Tojamatt Moriarty, another quality class, red dog with nice head and pleasing expression, strong scissor bite, ribs carried well back, easily spanned, coat and pelt ok, movedwell.

2 Jackson's Clipstone Starshine, quality grizzle dog, nice head, well placed shoulders, well muscled hind quarters which helped him to move with drive, good coat and pelt.

3 Guvercin's Baillieswells Glengyle At Glebeheath JW

Vet B (2)

1st Jackson's Ch Cobstoneway Moon River At Clipstone, 9 year old grizzle bitch, lovely head and feminine expression, nicely placed shoulders, ribs carried well back, , tail carried correctly, well bent stifle which helped with her movement which was great, harsh coat and thick pelt. BCC & BV

2 Hyslop's Baywillow Brown Braid Sh.CM, 7 year old grizzle bitch, another good looking oldie , pleasing head and expression, good lay of shoulders ,ribs carried well back, coat and pelt ok, moved well.

MPB (7,1)

1 Lorraine's Otterpaws Take It Easy With Raleniro, 7 month grizzle bitch pleasing head, very feminine, good bite, ribs carried well back, racy hind quarters, coat and pelt ok, moved well.

2 Hollingsbee's Otterwood Diodem, 8 month red bitch, same comments as 1 but movement not as good.

3 Thomas Rhozzum Winter Rose

PB (4,1)

1 Anderson's Glenbucket Highland Queen, 9 month grizzle, very pleasing feminine head, correct bite, nice length of neck, well laid back ribs, racy hind quarters, good coat and pelt, moved very well. Should have a good future. BP

2 Atkinson's Esyntona Codeword Vandamere, 12 month old blue and tan, again a pleasing feminine head and strong correct teeth well laid back ribs, well bent stifle, coat and pelt ok, moved well, preferred the overall quality of 1.

JB (3,1)

1 Guvercin's Glebheath Fingers On Lips, grizzle bitch, nice head and expression, clean strong teeth, keen eye, nice straight front, easily spanned, racy hindquarters, good coat and pelt, moved well once she had settled down.

2 Atkinson's Esyntona Codeword Vandemere

GB (3,1)

1 Anscombe's Gameway French Fancy Avec Orangebox, red bitch, nice head, teeth and neck which was of good proportiion, ribs carried well back, racy hindquarters good coat and pelt, moved well.

2 Taylor's Nottorg Nostalgia, grizzle bitch again very pleasing, similar to 1 but coat not as good.

PGB (4)

1 Service's Marsirdan Jemima Puddle red bitch with very pleasing feminine head, strong teeth with correct bite, good length of neck, well laid back ribs, racy hindquarters which enabled her to move with drive, overall a well balanced bitch, would have liked a little bit more coat hence only RBCC.

2 Stevens Cobstoneway Love Song JW Sh.CM, grizzle bitch with broad feminine head, large scissor bite teeth, nice length of neck, straight narrow front, well bent stifle, Moved well, harsh double coat.
