BORDER WINDSOR 17 Judge: Mr Stewart McPherson BEST OF BREED : 4609 JIDERLUND Miss A K SU Ch Int Ch NU Ch Crazy Train Cranberry BORDER JUDGE WINDSOR 17 Firstly, my thanks must go to the committee for the invitation to judge at their show and to those exhibitors who entered, for my opinion, always an honour, to judge their dogs, giving me the highest entry in the Terrier Group. My thanks, also, to my stewards, who kept things running smoothly, with good humour. Veteran - Dog Entries: 3 Absentees: 1 2nd - Colourbox Gunpowder (Mrs L A Fordham) Blue & tan. Typical head & expression. Straight front with good feet. Good hindquarters. Excellent coat & pelt. Not quite the tail set of 1st, but moved out well. Minor Puppy - Dog Entries: 3 Absentees: 0 2nd - Mysulan Mythical Mylo (Mrs S J Baxter) Blue & Tan. Giving a lot away here, in maturity, as he’s a raw baby. Typical head & expression. Good neck, shoulder, front & feet. Good coat & pelt. Just needs to settle in front movement, quite correct for his age. 3rd - Jrasamuyr Codex (Miss C Khatchikian) 2nd - Tarkaswell Smart Move To Otterwood (Mr M J & Mrs J M Hollingsbee) Darker Grizzle & Tan. Typical head & expression. Front straight, but could be a shade narrower. Good topline & tailset. Good hindquarters. In excellent coat. Just not so coordinated, on the move, as the 1st. Junior - Dog Entries: 7 Absentees: 0 2nd - Lynsett Lewis (Mr P Armstrong) Blue & Tan. Typical head & expression. Good neck, shoulder, front & feet. Excellent topline & tailset. Super hindquarters. Very sound on the move, keeping his outline. Super coat and pelt, put down in excellent order. Called him back to challenge for the Res CC, but he wasn’t quite so collected, as he had been in the class, due to being rushed back, so lost out to the exceptional puppy, who was giving his all. Should have a bright future. 3rd - Badgerbeck Pluto (Miss L M Jenkins) Excellent class for quality. 1st - Bardenfox A View To Kill (Mr I & Mrs J Broomhead) Grizzle & Tan. Excellent head & expression. Good neck, shoulder, front & feet, topline & tailset. Super harsh coat with good pelt. Good hindquarters. Sound, keeping his outline on the move. 2nd - Howthwaite in Voice (Mr R J & Mrs E A Barrett) Grizzle & Tan. Same remarks apply, splitting hairs here! A shade larger, all through, I could just span the 1st more easily. A real showman, put down in excellent order, as were all from this Kennel today. 3rd - Chatmoss Bullet Tooth Tony JW (Miss J Hughes & Mr M J L Kendrick) 2nd - Brewbrads Tricky Trickster (Miss V Bradley) Blue & Tan. Not quite so typical in head as the 1st, but good neck, shoulder, front & feet. Narrow, with a good coat & pelt. Moved ok, scoring over 3rd in front movement. 3rd - Kersfell Cool River (Mrs M Sneddon) 2nd - Stowthorney Mr Tickle JW (Mr R Brewster & Ms J Green) Grizzle & Tan. Typical head & expression. Good neck, shoulder, front & feet, topline & tailset. Good hindquarters. Sound on the move, but just not quite the length of stride as 1st or quite so easy to span. 3rd - Rhozzum Gwilym (Mrs M Sharp) 2nd - CH/Nor/Swe Chatmoss Aramis HWW-15 J/BW (B)-15 (Miss A K Jiderlund) Blue & Tan. Typical head & expression. Good neck, shoulder, front & feet, topline & tailset. Excellent hindquarters. Narrow all through. Super mover, with a good coat & pelt. 3rd - Int Ch Toftahill Lucky Number (Mrs P Hirn) 2nd - Rhozzum Wessex (Mrs F J Matthews) Grizzle & Tan. VHC in Junior Dog. Typical head & expression. Taller, ranger dog, just needing time to “ knit” together. Sound on the move. Narrow body lines, with a good coat & pelt. Veteran - Bitch Entries: 5 Absentees: 2 2nd - Southash Cherry Bliss at Smurfski (Mr J C B Yore) Grizzle & Tan. Typical head& expression. Not quite the angulation of the 1st, in forehand, so not quite the reach on the move. Excellent hindquarters. In excellent coat, with a good pelt. 3rd - Badgerbeck Tree Pipit At Tilmoray JW ShCM (Mrs M Small) 2nd - Micustins Little Santa (Mr M McNicholas) Grizzle & Tan. 8 months. Typical head & expression. Not quite so good in shoulder & upper arm as the 1st and a shade rounder in rib. Sound enough on the move. Good topline & tailset. 3rd - Jrasamuyr Violette Szabo (Miss C Khatchikian) 2nd - Baillieswells Scapa (Professor A S Milton & Mrs. H Haffenden) Grizzle &Tan. Litter sister to the Best Puppy. Good head and expression, neck, shoulder, front & feet, topline & tailset. Sound on the move. Just a shade shorter coupled than the 1st and was just sinking in to herself in the stack, on the day. Her young handler should have some fun with her. 3rd - Glebeheath Beau Belle (Miss G Lowe & Mr T Miles) 2nd - Grizzledale Forget Me Not (Mrs M Medhurst) Grizzle & Tan. Typical head & expression. Excellent neck, shoulder, front & feet. Good topline & tailset. Good hindquarters. Similar, in many ways, to the 1st, discovered later they shared the same sire, Onthill Amaretto! Just not quite so collected on the move, but two very good bitches. 3rd - Litelheych Secret Potion (Mrs H J Cobby) 2nd - Mansergh Paint By Numbers (Miss A Roslin Williams) Grizzle & Tan. Typical head & expression. Another showgirl! Most of the same remarks apply as the 1st, but giving 5 months of maturity away to the winner. Super free mover. Her day will come! 3rd - Southash Annie Oakley At Smurfski (Mr J Yore) 2nd - La Senza (Mrs M Medhurst) Grizzle & Tan. Typical head & expression. Good neck, shoulder, front & feet. Super topline & tailset. Good hindquarters. Excellent coat & pelt. Pushed hard for 1st. Another by Amaretto! 3rd - Clydebeck Solitaire (Mrs S & Mr M & Miss J Taylor) Excellent class for quality. 1st - Argentail Titania by Onthill (Mr R & Mrs A Ramus) Grizzle & Tan. Typical head & expression. Excellent neck, shoulder, front & feet. Super topline & tailset. Racy hindquarters. Excellent coat & pelt. Super mover, holding her outline on the move. Yet another by Amaretto! 2nd - Bardenfox Pussy Galore JW (Mr K H & Mrs D Moore) Grizzle & Tan. Good head & expression. Good neck, straight front with good feet. Shoulder & upper arm not quite so clean through as 1st, who excelled here. Excellent topline & tailset. Excellent hindquarters. Super coat & pelt. Sound mover, holding her outline. Close decision between two very good bitches. 3rd - Alcumlow Miss Teeq (Mr P, Mrs B & Miss R Barber) Superb class, with quality right down the line. 1st - NORD UCH Crazy Train Cranberry SE JV-15 (Miss A K Jiderlund) Grizzle & Tan. Superb, feminine, otter like head, with dark eye, giving a keen expression. Excellent neck, shoulder, front & feet, topline & tailset. Good tail, well carried. Super rib & hindquarters. In super double coat, with good pelt. Super free, accurate mover, keeping her outline at all times. Real showgirl! Totally balanced. Loved her! Litter sister to my Dog CC winner, last time I judged, at the Southern Club ’15 and a daughter of the dog I made BOB at Crufts ‘12, ex the Best Puppy winner! Delighted to hear she was shortlisted in the Terrier Group! 2nd - CH Mansergh Plusfours (Miss A Roslin-Williams) Grizzle & Tan. Typical, feminine head & expression. Super neck, shoulder, front& feet. Narrow, all through, with super rib, carried well back. Excellent topline & tailset. Coat & pelt good, but not quite in the super bloom of 1st. Comes in to her own on the go round, with a super ground covering action, keeping her outline, but just not quite so accurate as 1st coming towards me. Res CC. 3rd - Byrewick Valentine (Mrs. L. Foulger) 2nd - Lady Fiona Mctarry At Thistlewhiss (Miss A J Sutton & Mr M Sugden) Blue & Tan. Typical head & expression. Excellent coat, of super colour, with a good pelt. Generally good make & shape, but not quite so narrow as 1st. Judge: Mr Stewart McPherson |
