ENGLISH BULL JUDGE BIRMINGHAM NATIONAL 19

I would like to thank the Committee of Birmingham National Dog Show for their excellent hospitality and super show organisation. It was especially lovely to see so many passionate and experienced youngsters on a General Ch Show Committee that have been nurtured by the Club through from Juniors. I would also like to thank all the exhibitors for entering under me and giving me a great entry in both breeds. The new Special Beginners classes are a lovely idea to encourage new people in the breed who haven’t yet won a CC to have an opportunity in the Group ring if they win Best Special Beginner in breed. Unfortunately I don’t think it has been well publicised and people aren’t aware so the entry was very low in Bull Terriers & no entries as in Miniature Bull Terriers.

Sp Beginners D (1)

1 Trigger’s Rusko. Solid tri with strong head, gentle profile and wicked eye. Straight front with good angulation. Prefer better shoulder placement. Needs to carry more weight for show to help make him more rounded. Best Special Beginners In Breed.

PD (1)

1 Parkington’s Olliebrad Some Might Say. 11 months, cobby and compact brindle and white dog. Well turned and filled head. Mouth good. Straight front with neat feet and lovely reach of neck. Good turn of stifle. Balanced throughout. Moved fairly parallel. Very typy showboy presented in sparkling condition.

JD (6, 2)

1 Thomas’ Tawnbarr Huntsman’s Moon Of Croesybullys. Very compact well made white dog. Good profile to head but not the sweeping profile of second. Well filled head with wicked eye and good mouth. Good mover, moved parallel and drove. Tidy all through with good bone for size. Showed and presented really well.

2 Murphy’s Chavez Diabelskie A Widgets Bull At Katroyden. Larger more upstanding tricoloured dog with a sweeping profile and powerful head. Stands with front feet turned out, good hind angulation. Not as compact as first. Moved fairly parallel.

3 Woodward’s Gorbain Hellborn.

PGD (6, 1)

1 Turpin’s Unionbul’s Hot Diamond. Substantial compact black brindle and white dog who is very masculine. Power packed head with super turn and wicked expression. Mouth fault. Straight front with really neat feet for such a powerful dog. Super hind angulation. Head and neck much better from the other side. Handler tends to show him not on his best side. Moved fairly parallel and covered the ground. Considered him for the Res CC.

2 Paterson’s Golitha Generation X. More upstanding rangey white dog. Still seems a bit immature as he is a big boy. Lovely turned head but lacks a bit of fill under the eye. Good earset. Prefer keener eye. Mouth good. Lovely reach of neck and really well made and balanced throughout with lovely spring of rib. Moved fairly parallel and excellent showman.

3 Karta Williams & Williams’ Moonflower Tumen Of Karmara.

D (4)

1 Newberry & Mills’ Teirwgwyn Phantom Jester For Ukusa. Compact red and white dog with sweeping profile to head. Good fill under the eye and lovely underjaw. Mouth fault. Good reach of neck and strong quarters. Shows well but holds tail quite high. Moved better in front than behind but covered the ground.

2 Gausden’s Ellakru Its All About Me. Quality rich brindle and white dog who didn’t make the most of himself. Lovely powerful turned head with wicked eye and good underjaw. Mouth ok but one tight canine. Straight front. Markings detract and make him look shorter in the neck but he has a good neck. Good mover who really drives from behind.

3 Hackett’s Spartiate Picasso.

OD (4)

1 Mathison’s Selbullie Dark Side Of Blazinbullys. Ultra typy brindle and white dog who is very masculine. Really powerful super sweeping head with strong underjaw and good mouth. Punishing expression with wicked eye. Straight front and decent angulation. Moved really well parallel and with drive covering the ground. Wasn’t making the most of himself and carrying a few extra pounds but couldn’t deny him his third CC.

2 Godsall’s Neverland Devils Own. Upstanding elegant red and white dog. Beautiful head turned and filled with good underjaw. Mouth fault. Lovely reach of neck and shapely forechest. Super front and elbows tucked right in. Neat feet and lovely quarters. Good bone for size. Really well made dog and balanced throughout. Moved fairly parallel and covered the ground. Showed fairly well and presented in immaculate condition. Res Dog CC.

3 Jowers’ Clansmann Centurian Player.

Sp Beginners B (1)

1 De Roubaix’s Prime Fire Princess. Happy brindle and white bitch. Feminine head with nice profile lacking in fill. Neat cat feet with good hind angulation. Needs to carry more weight for the showring. Moved better in front than behind. Showed really well for handler. Didn’t return to challenge for Best Special Beginners in Breed.

JB (6, 1)

1 Morris & Heath’s Bluepoint Kittiwake. Beautiful terrier type white bitch. Lovely turned and filled head with wicked eye and expression. Good mouth. Well made throughout with shapely forechest and neat feet. Moved better in front than behind. Attentive showgirl who was presented in sparkling condition.

2 Richmond-Brough’s Topfuel Rose Gold. Really well made chunky pale red and white bitch. Lovely turned and filled head. Prefer keener eye for better expression. Lovely reach of neck with shapely forechest and neat feet. A bit unbalanced. Really good mover, moved parallel and with drive.

3 West & Jones’ Denerian Dragons Queen At Groundworx.

PGB (4, 1)

1 Roughton’s La Perla Warbonnet. Really beautiful tricolour bitch. Super filled and turned head with superb profile, power and underjaw. To be hyper critical would prefer keener eye. Mouth ok but tight canine. Lovely reach of neck into well laid shoulders. Really balanced and well made throughout. Straight front shapely forechest and beautiful cat feet. Moved better in front than behind. Beautiful showgirl in lovely condition. From my taped critique on the day there was a repetitive adjective I used continually throughout, BEAUTIFUL. Res Bitch CC.

2 Poston’s Garthybull Liberty Girl. Well made tricolour bitch. Powerful head with decent turn. Earset spoils expression. Mouth good. Good reach of neck and neat feet. Not as balanced as first. Moved well in front and closer behind. Showed and presented well.

3 Mathison’s Blazinbullys Lady Of Light.

LB (4, 1)

1 Karta-Williams & Williams’ Kaiserbull’s Tough Love At Karmara. Very well balanced big upstanding white bitch. Lovely turned and filled head with wicked eye. Mouth just off level. Good bone for size, well made and very shapely throughout with a lovely reach of neck. Just turns feet out slightly in front. Best mover in this class, moved fairly parallel. Shows really well for her handler. Considered for the Res CC. Same sire as Bitch CC winner.

2 Villensia’s Villensia Virtuoso. Pretty tricolour bitch. More petite than first. Lovely turned and filled head. Prefer keener eye. Mouth fault. Really well made and shapely throughout with lovely reach of neck and cat feet. Moved better in front than behind. Very neat showgirl, beautifully presented and handled.

3 Adey-McConnell & McConnell’s Blazinbullys Bonnie Lass.

OB (5, 1)

1 Probert’s Llanwenarths Love Is All. Stunning classical white bitch. Superb head filled and turned with wicked expression. Mouth fault. Lovely reach of neck into well laid shoulders and straight front with neat feet. So well made and correct throughout. Balanced and shapely with flowing bodylines. Good bone and substance but still feminine. Her movement didn’t disappoint moved parallel and drove from behind. Won Bitch CC & BOB with something to spare even with her mouth fault. A real beauty with the WOW factor. Found out latterly that she was a puppy so was also Best Puppy In Breed.

2 Blair’s Ir Ch Briden Chit Chat At Megaville. Quality white showgirl. Lovely turned and filled head with wicked expression. Mouth ok. Good reach of neck, shapely forechest straight front and neat feet. Well turned stifles. Not as balanced as first. Moved better in front than behind.

3 Young & Lamonby’s Emred Devil’s Nighthawk Of Kirkville.
