ENGLISH BULL JUDGE MANCHESTER 09

Bull Terriers

The overall quality of exhibits was very good & apart from some sloppy flat feet, I must mention the state of teeth. I was amazed at the high number of dirty mouths in such young animals. Please invest in a toothbrush, old fashioned baking soda instead of toothpaste works very well & is cheap.

MPD (1)

1 Sheppard & Howe’s Ragnarok Balder at Polanca, 6 months r/w, well made young man, showing a great deal of promise, good head, neat ears & nice small dark eye, good profile. Needs a little more fill, time should allow for this to come. Mouth undershot. Plenty of bone for age, everything in the right place. Needs to mature & tighten up. Handled well.

PD (2,1a)

1 Hickey’s Great Gigin The Sky, white, good strong bones. Head profile lacking fill & width. Nice dark eye & well placed ears. Difficult to fully assess as he needed to calm down somewhat.

JD (3,1)

1 Mellor’s Licorice Calhorn at Credetta, well developed tri, well filled head with depth & roman finish, correct scissor bite, large correct canines, nicely placed almost black eyes & good ear placement, straight front, good depth of brisket & well sprung ribs, short back & good topline, strong backend, moved well, well presented & handled. RCC;

2 Buckby’s Benjip Gentle Ben of Skhaldmarr, br/w, well turned head just lacking fill. Good quarters. Tended to lose topline on the move, still has some maturing to do. Handled well.

PGD (9,3)

1 Dobbin & Van Eck’s Buster Black Ears at Denbully, heavyweight white, plenty of bone, strong well filled head with both fill, depth & roman finish. Eye a little kind. Ear well placed but a little soft. Straight front, good depth of forechest, nice catlike feet, good angulations & well let down hocks, moved well on the drive, handled very well;

2 Wannop’s Charisalee Defiant Ghost, white, very nice dog, well made, well filled head, good profile with both width & depth, bite undershot, good depth of brisket & gun barrel front, short back, good angulations & strong boned throughout. Feet could do with being tighter. Excellently handled;

3 Probert’s Lamellar Love Me at Llanwenarth.

LD (3,2)

1 Leesley’s Lydsall’s The Untouchable, white with ear marking, neat doggy head, plenty of fill & finish, well placed piercing eye. Mouth fault with one inverted canine. Short back, good topline, straight front, moved well. Just didn’t have his usual sparkle. Handled well.

OD (5,2)

1 Martinez Mestre’s Fr/Sp/Int/Port/Eur Ch Avonjul Astronomer Royal, heavyweight white, very compact & well put together, powerful head without being coarse, sweeping profile, nice roman finish, well placed eyes & ears bang on top which he used continuously. Well placed canines with a couple of misplaced incisors. Straight front, depth of forechest & well sprung ribs, short backed, good topline, well developed second thigh & good angulations & let down of hock, handled to perfection. CC;

2 Young’s Bullyview Streaming Eagle, white with brindle ear, nice sweeping profile, plenty of fill & depth, nice roman finish. A little stuffy in neck. Good gun barrel front & well sprung ribs, short backed, good topline held on the move, well developed quarters, good second thigh & angulations, well let down hock, handled to perfection. Just preferred 1 that bit more;

3 Smalley’s True Bravado of Briden.

VD (1) A.

MPB (2)

1 Wright’s Rightstuff Remade, white 8 months little girl, very much the puppy. Needs to mature all over but has time on her side. Should have some fun with her in the future;

2 Membury & Tait’s Mitzstaff Chelsea Girl, white 7 months little lady at her first show. Needs to mature & develop all over. Hopefully time will help this to come.

PB (2)

1 Wilson, Cushin & Stephan’s Javarke Kwik Start for Alizarin, 10 months white, well constructed heavyweight bitch, head profile good. Could do with a little more width of muzzle & underjaw. Well placed shoulders & straight front, moved better going, a little close behind. Well handled. BP;

2 Woolliscroft’s Exclusive Dream of Hillanvale, in the ring for the first time & needed time to settle. Unable to fully assess because of her playful stance. Would benefit from more socialisation & possibly some ringcraft.

JB (11,4)

1 Cox’s Coxgal Oiche Angel, what an eyecatcher, very smart, well marked tri, classical female head throughout that fills the Standard, super swan-like neck, well laid shoulder, nice short back & good topline, excellent forechest, straight front & tight feet, well developed second thigh, good angulations & let down of hock, moved like a dream, excellently presented & handled. CC & BOB;

2 Tubb’s Elvroc Crazy Cracker at Gazannlou, br/w, very promising young lady, good well filled head with roman finish, well placed eyes & ears bang on top, well laid back shoulders, straight front & nice tight feet, good topline held on the move. Still needs to mature more but has time on her side. Just out of puppy. Handled very well;

3 Kirk’s Kenocto Ruby Charm for Charrycas.

PGB (8,3)

1 Leesley’s Bullyview Sheer Bliss at Lydsall, very classy white, powerful head without being doggy, lovely profile with just enough fill & finish, straight front & depth of brisket & spring of rib, short backed & good quarters. Would like to see a little more bone. Moved well but with her usual sparkle. Handled & presented well. RCC;

2 Davies’ Teirwgeyn Specially Maid for Tytar, delightful rich brindle, feminine head with depth & finish. Shame about her undershot mouth. Nice placed dark eye, well placed ears, good front, spring of rib & depth of forechest, good quarters. Moved a little close behind. Well presented;

3 Kilpatrick’s Warradcasey Kool Kisses.

LB (6,3)

1 Tinkler’s Inversu Solo Whisper at Danbull, substantial white with ear markings, compact feminine head, underjaw a little weak, nice almost black eye, good reach of neck & short back, good spring of rib & forechest, moved with drive. A little close behind. Handled well;

2 Woodhead’s Esse Bianco Simone, very kind eyed white, good barrel chest, held topline on the move. Movement close behind;

3 Taylor & Foster’s Ragnarok Fricka over Bilboen.

OB (4)

1 Cserfalvi-Young’s Ducassos Contrary Mary, very classy white, well filled & turned head, well placed dark eye, well placed ears that she used to her advantage, sweeping neck leading to well placed shoulders & straight front, plenty of bone, short back & good backend, moved well & handled very well;

2 Holt’s Sherrywells Nuzzle Muzzle of Eiramsel, white with brindle eye patches, classic female head, tight lipped, well placed eye & ears bang on top, sweeping neck leading to well placed shoulder, straight front, good depth of rib, short back & good topline. Back movement not her fortune, a little erratic & tends to crab. Shown & handled very well;

3 Roderick’s Warnerdale Looney Toon. VB (1) A.
