MINIATURE BULL EAST OF ENGLAND 10

Miniature Bull Terriers

Lots of typy Minis, though the sizes ranged from very small to very large – the results of interbreeding no doubt.
As with the full size Bullies short upper arms and lack of shoulder angulation are challenges for breeders.
Heads were generally impressive and I always delight in the small well placed ears on Minis – so much more expressive than the ears on most big Bullies. My thanks for very pleasing entry.

Puppy Dog 1

1. Hart’s Albermarbull Time to Touch: Typy solid brindle of appropriate size; nicely finished head, with ears on top; bite is under; movement leaves much to be desired; when standing he sets himself up well.

Junior Dog 3

1. Shaw’s Badlesmere Beast Released: Quality dog, another small solid brindle; good head with a correct bite; front could be straighter; well bent stifles; decent mover; showed well. RBD

2. Dodwell’s Decadence Defender: Very typy Bull Terrier, but simply too big for a Mini; he’s bl/br and white; very nice head, uses his ears alertly; decent bone and body, somewhat upright in shoulder making his back appear longer – but that’s true of most of them today; showed and presented really well.

3. Dance’s Decadence Deliverance

Limit Dog 1

1. Neame’s Badlesmere Dering Express: Tricolor with a good head; correct bite with nice big teeth; rather short in neck; substantial body; somewhat short on leg; covered the ground reasonably well.

Open Dog 1

1. Vicker’s Ch Duvessa Red Cloud: Top class solid red smut; very good head, muzzle wide and deep; correct bite, again with nice big teeth; uses his ears well; ample bone and shapely body; his legs are a tad short, not helping his overall balance; moved in business-like fashion, could have better reach and drive, nevertheless easily the best mover among the males; showed well. BD

Puppy Bitch 2

1. Cserfalvi-Young’s Ducassos Thumbalina: Quite small, she is a little gem; typy with a lovely filled head and the darkest of eyes; her bite is under; a tad upright in shoulder; good chest plus decent hindquarters and tail set; covered the ground quite well.

2. Vicker’s Duvessa Lottsa Lady: Attractively marked br/w; nicely turned head, though underjaw rather weak; upright in shoulder so that her back appears long; showed and presented well.

Junior Bitch 4 (1 abs)

1. Shaw’s Badlesmere Bookworm: Typy solid brindle, nice size – not sure she deserves to be named Bookworm; neat well filled head with a correct bite; keen expression; rather short in upper arm; good spring and depth of rib; correct tail set; moved well especially going away; showed herself to best advantage in the challenge to take a close decision over the reserve bitch. BB CC

2. Richardson’s Badlesmere Bookend at Quayardson: Very small br/w with a nice head – well turned and finished; eyes rather open; decent behind the collar, a little gay in tail; showed well – as happy as could be!

3. Dance’s Decadence Dragonfly

Post Graduate Bitch 2

1. Hart’s Justeph Princess Melady: Well marked br/w; long head, somewhat lacking in profile; correct bite; decent body though a little long cast; good tail set; well bent stifles; moved quite well.

2. Richardson’s Little White Lie at Quayardson: White of nice size and balance; lacks downface; overshot with a rather weak underjaw; that said she has a keen expression, shapely body and quite good movement.

Limit Bitch 1

1. Hemstock & Rowe’s Adderswood Catt of Jolihem: Attractive bl/br; nicely turned head with a good Roman finish; keen expression; could have better angulation fore and aft; shapely body; a little short on leg; moved with purpose if rather wide in front; showed well.

Open Bitch 1

1. Llewellyn’s Merkava Kleopatra by Bullypins: Lovely white bitch; upstanding with a well turned and finished head; dark eyes; incisors correct, canines vertical; moderate angulation fore and aft, ample body, tail a tad gay; average movement; showed quite well in this class, but not as well in the challenge, when she lost a close decision.
