CAIRN BIRMINGHAM NATIONAL 19 Judge: Mr Jan-Erik Ek BEST OF BREED : 6919 CLARKE Mrs P Multi Ch Cairnster Mr Don Juan CAIRN JUDGE BIRMINGHAM NATIONAL 19 I enjoyed judging Cairn Terriers very much at this well run show and would like to express my thanks to everyone who entered. I thought the quality was very good and the winners of top quality. Temperament throughout the day left nothing to be desired and overall proportions were generally good. Heads varied a bit, several were lacking enough stop, some weak muzzles also appeared and expressions suffered because of eyes sitting too close together and/or were not set as they should be. Front legs could in several cases be straighter than they were but having said that I had several dogs with excellent fronts also. I thought it was a very friendly atmosphere and several exhibitors came up to me after judging had been completed and exchanged a few words which is always nice. MPD (1) 1 Peers’ Tweedisle Jaunty Lad. Nice puppy, front is ok, good body and coat, was very much enjoying his day, moved ok. PD (2,1) 1 Hartopp’s Penticharm Oh What A Knight. Very happy puppy with correct coat texture. A little round in eye and would prefer better bend of stifle. Moved well. JD (4,1) 1 Waugh’s Tribannon Karamak. Nice junior. Masculine head, good fore and rear quarters, well bodied, moved and showed well. 2 Bateman’s Carradine Whiskey Mac. This lad needs more training to be shown to full advantage. A little long in muzzle. When comparing him to 3 I prefered his earset. 3 Saich’s Stoutheart Einstein For Lindcoly. PGD (6,1) 1 Firth & Firth’s Cairngold Chico JW. Very nice youngster, masculine head with good expression, good body and coat, super rear end, moved excellently. Looked good in the challenge, should do well. 2 Harrison’s Carradine Whiskey Oscar. Another very nice youngster but prefered rear end of 1. Excellent coat. Nice temperament. 3 Saltmarsh’s Birselaw Come Dancing With Macmoon JW ShCM. LD (1) 1 Lamb & Saltmarsh’s Birselaw Dark Charmer For Macmoon ShCM. Liked his make and shape. Well balanced. Well carried ears. Rear end very good. Moved well. OD (7,1) 1 Clarke’s Multi Ch Cairnster Mr Don Juan. Very attractive and well constructed dog of excellent type and quality, all male, stands and moves foursquare. Good head and well carried ears. Excellent body, in good coat. Excellent mover. He stood out in the challenge and I was very pleased to award him the CC and later in the day BOB beating a super bitch along the way. I was very pleased to see him getting short listed in the group, well done. 2 Peers’ Tweedisle Lively Lad. Another dog of quality with a rosy future ahead of him. His construction is solid and he has an excellent body and coat. Good head. Moved well I was pleased to award him the RCC. 3 Ball’s Lentrica Let´s Dance At Calamodin. VD (1) 1 Lamb & Saltmarsh’s Renshaw There And Back Again Under Macmoon ShCM. This happy old gentleman presents a nice outline. Masculine head level topline. Moves with a good length of stride when viewed in profile. Correct coat texture BV. SBB (1) 1 Metcalf-Sault & Metcalf’s Cannwood Call Me Aggie. Well presented bitch with a feminine head. Good body. Correct coat texture. Moves a little wide in front. Nice temperament. MPB (1) 1 Peers’ Tweedisle Spirit Free. Sweet puppy, I hope she will use her ears better in the future. Good outline. Good body and set of tail. Moved ok. PB (5) 1 Catto’s Birselaw Walk With Me. Totally fall in love with this puppy, she is a super bitch from the tip of her nose til the end of her tail. She has a front to die for and has a lovely head and expression. Her proportions are excellent and she has all the essentials. I was very pleased to award her RCC and feel sure this is not the last time we hear of this excellent puppy. 2 Yates-Johnson’s Pendley Dinah. Very promising puppy also, most unfortunate to meet 1 which completely knocked me over. This puppy also displays excellent breed type and has a good front. Sound mover. 3 McIntyre’s Cannwood Celtic Charm. JB (6) 1 Dolan’s Whispers At Dawn At Glenrood. Nice bitch with a good front. Feminine head. Good body legs and feet. Moves and shows very well. 2 Saich’s Lindcoly Howling Whoopi. Pushed 1 all the way but needs more training to be at full advantage. Lots to like about her such as a nice head and expression, body and coat. Moved well. 3 Keeves’ Seveek Cherry’s Dream. PGB (6) 1 Roberts’ Cannwood Chance The Moment. This is a bitch of very good proportions, head and expression, body and set of tail should also be added to her list of virtues. Moved well. 2 Catto’s Birselaw Viking Princess. Unlucky to meet 1, another with good proportions, coat and tail. Moved and showed well. 3 Harrison’s Carradine Winnie. LB (2,1) 1 Firth & Firth’s Cairngold Carolina. Top quality bitch displaying excellent breed type, her construction and movements are first class. Her coat is good and her movements sound. Considered for RCC, her day will come. OB (6,3) 1 Dolan’s Ch Glenrood Spell Dance JW. Super bitch hard to fault in any essential. Superb breed type. Lovely head and expression. Excellent body and front. In good coat. Excellent mover. It was a real pleasure to award her CC, well done, narrowly beaten by the lovely dog for BOB. 2 Petts’ Brenndarcy Hunky Dory Among Doonrae. Very nice bitch, again one with correct construction, coat and movement. Prefered expression of 1. 3 Soper’s Elitecharm Five Of Diamonds. Judge Jan-Erik Ek
