CAIRN BOSTON 12 Judge(s) MOIRA BARRASS BD CARRADINE BRIAN THE LION (MRS V & MISS D H BYRNE & INETT) CAIRN TERRIER This was one of the happiest shows I have been asked to judge at, the rings were of good size and well laid out. The venue was bright and warm with easy parking. I found that most of the exhibits were in good coat and seemed to enjoy their day. One or two had small teeth which takes away the strength of jaw needed to do their job. PD (1) 1 Burgin's Noncom Hugo First. This young masculine dog just into puppy class, his first show, moved around the ring with confidence, lovely balance of head, dark eyes, pointed ears, scissor bite, balanced rib to loin, harsh red brindle coat just coming through. JD (4) 1 Byrne & Inett's Carradine Brian The Lion. BD, very masculine dog presented in good harsh coat, dark eyes, well placed pointed ears, scissor bite, nice slope of neck, balanced rib to loin, good tail set, well muscled, moved around the ring with drive. 2 Lamb & Saltmarsh's Renshaw There And Back Again. Presented in harsh coat, dark eyes, correct ear set, good rib to loin, moved well, preferred balance and movement of first. 3 Petts & Shannon's Geordie Boy. PGD (2) 1 Keeves & Bennett's Seveek Who Dares Wins. Another balanced dog presented in good harsh coat, dark eyes, nice pointed ears, scissor bite, good rib to loin ratio, moved with drive around the ring. 2 Lamb & Saltmarsh's Bireslaw Fable. Presented in harsh coat, dark eyes, pointed ears, moved with drive, preferred rear of first. OD (2) 1 Shannon & Storr's Benndarcy Trouble At Mill. Res BD, well balanced masculine dark brindle dog, lovely head with small ears, dark eyes, good scissor bite, pushed hard for best dog but preferred JD's movement on the day. 2 Inett's Hydecastle Reg The Rocket. Well balanced wheaten dog with neat ear set, scissor bite, dark eyes, presented in good coat, just preferred overall picture on the day. PB (3) 1 Clarke's Lentrica Sweet Sensation. BP & PG4, lovely feminine wheaten bitch, balanced head with dark eyes, strong scissor bite, good rib to loin, presented in good coat, moved around the ring with confidence. 2 Burgin's Noncom Solitaire. Very similar to litter mate in PD but just needs to settle, harsh coat coming through, scissor bite, neat ears, good balance. 3 Waites & Purvis' Svendalens Memoire Cherie. JB (1) 1 Clarke's Benndarcy Snedronningen. Neat wheaten bitch with scissor bite, good ear placement, balanced rib to loin, presented in good coat, moved out around the ring. PGB (5) 1 Day's Trekhilli Beanie Baby JW ShCM. Another feminine bitch presented in good coat, dark eyes, pointed ears, scissor bite, balanced rib to loin, moved well around the ring. 2 Smith's Glenmear Sproxton Lass. Another balanced bitch, presented in good coat, pointed ears, scissor bite, dark eyes, good balance of rib, moved well but preferred the movement of first on the day. 3 Bryne's Little Miss Tonka. OB (3, 1) 1 Inett's Carradine Come On Irene JW. BB & BOB. Very feminine head, good ear set, expressive dark eyes, strong, clean scissor bite, nice reach of neck, good front, balanced rib to loin, kept a good topline standing and on the move, good drive from the rear as she flowed around the ring, dark brindle presented in good coat, pleased to see her in final six for the Group. 2 Day's Trekhilli Piccallilli JW. Res BB, this feminine bitch pushed first hard, nice balance of head, good ear set, dark eyes, scissor bite, kept topline moving, moved well around the ring, presented in good coat. Moira Barrass |
