CAIRN BOURNEMOUTH 15 Judge: Mrs S Dolan BEST OF BREED : 4180 THOMAS Mr G Ch Tycadno I Spy CAIRN JUDGE BOURNEMOUTH 15 CAIRN TERRIERS It was a pleasure to be asked to judge Bournemouth Show, although the weather was not very good and judging took place in the wet weather tents. I was very pleased with my Best Dog, Best Bitch and Best Puppy in Breed. I found no bad mouths, but a slightly lighter eye seems to be creeping in to some of the exhibits. I also found movement was very mixed and that the quality of the bitches was better than the dogs. Minor Puppy Dog 2 entries (0 abs) 1st. Kippen’s Carradine Dee Jay NAF TAF, 7 month red brindle, correct mouth, good length of neck into well laid shoulders. A little erratic in movement but showed reasonably well. Nicely balanced. 2nd. Keeves’ Seveek I Spied That Dream, good headed 8 month red brindle. Deep stop and a strong jaw with a correct bite, good tailset, moved okay. Lost out to 1 on showmanship. Puppy Dog 2 entries (1 abs) 1st. Kippen’s Carradine Dee Jay NAF TAF Junior Dog 5 entries (2 abs) 1st. Inett, Harrison, King & Leighton’s Carradine George Flies with Harkinleigh, wheaten brindle with a beautiful head of correct proportions, deep stop, good mouth with a wide jaw. Straight front with strong feet, well laid shoulders. Shown in excellent coat. Showed well. 2nd. Goud’s Vale of Atholl’s Judges Dilemma, beautiful headed wheaten with dark points. Wide jaw with a correct bite, straight front, good tailset and level topline. Shown in short coat which detracted from overall picture. Moved well, just preferred the balance of 1. 3rd. Lamb & Saltmarsh’s Birselaw Dark Charmer. Post Graduate Dog 4 entries (1 abs) 1st. Poile’s Kedvaiy Hogmanay, dark red brindle, good head and expression, level topline and tailset. Showed and moved well both ways. 2nd. Kinton’s Woodthorpe I Know The Code, wheaten brindle with a beautiful head, level topline and a good tailset. Showed well, just preferred the movement of 1. 3rd. Parker-Tucker’s Uniquecottage Winsford. Limit Dog 5 entries (1 abs) 1st. Hughes & Hooton’s Gyncairn Magical Mystery, wheaten with a lovely outline. Good head, correct eye and mouth.
