CAIRN JUDGE BIRMINGHAM CITY 15

City of Birmingham Championship Show
5 September 2015
Firstly I would like to thank the Committee for inviting me to judge this show, also for the very handy hospitality provided, a 200 yard walk from hotel to venue is a real treat!. But a really big thank you to my exhibitors for a very respectable entry of 61 dogs. The only down side - I would have preferred a larger ring.
Mouths on the whole were good, some with smaller teeth than one would prefer but correct dentition. A few coats were in between but most were of good condition, only a few dirty ones. I found a few lacking forechest which spoils the front assembly and movement. There is an obvious variation in size in our breed, medium and well balanced is what we should aim for. Temperaments were on the whole good. Although the bitches outdid the males numerically and quality wise, my DCC & BOB was outstandingly the best exhibit of the day. To see him go Terrier group one under judge Zena Thorn-Andrews was really thrilling and made me feel so proud to be part of this too rare event, last time being 2002.
