CAIRN JUDGE CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 25

Firstly I would like to thank the City of Birmingham for asking me to Judge Cairn Terriers for the first time at CC level, also thank you all the exhibitors for a wonderful entry, and a big shout out to my to brilliant lady stewards Lesley Elliot and Judith Haynes, I really enjoyed judging the breed today and all the exhibitors I found to be very friendly, As cairns are not a breed I had the pleasure to own or breed I will not be giving my comments what I thought could change in the breed as it not my place and should be left to breeders and exhibitors. There were some very nice dogs/bitches her today and could change places another time and another judge. I judge on the day not what they done in the past or in the future and judge friend or foe best dog on the day will win in my eyes, it is the way I have always judged and always will

SBD

1 Ortolano Svendalens Max In A Million. Grey brindle lovely size on this boy dark eyes neat ears good bone, in very good jacket moved well both ways

VD

1 Lamb and Saltmarsh Birselaw Come Dancing With Macmoon OSW, JW, ShCEx SH. A 8 year old dog, dark brindle few teeth missing that’s what old age does to us all. he has a lovely head shape his ears were small and erect, level topline in wonderful coat, moved well both ways

MPD

1 Haim and Harrison Carradine Kiss My Ace love this name lol! 6 month old brindle boy stunning puppy, good head correct bite, enough bone standing on good feet, his jacket was excellent, tail and tail set bang on, and he moved so well I see he is by my dog rcc winner predict a good future for him, BPIB.

2nd Sinclair and Tothill Tycando Quickshot Another very smart 8 month old puppy not in the jacket of one today but very promising very similar remarks as 1, but didn’t help his handler on the move today look forward to watching his progress 3 Dennis and Waites Svendalens Moon Stone

PD

1 Lucas and Tobutt Carradine Sir Percival. 11 months old, good head correct ears, dark eyes with correct shape. neck well set correct topline, he just needs to tighten up in front look forward to watching his progress,

GD

1 Lamb and Saltmarsh Tycadno Shining Star Around Macmoon JW. Cream of quality surprised to see him in a Graduate class he could lose a little weight to his advantage. Another from this breeder with a cracking head, correct in neck, good double jacket neat tail, moved ok both ways

2 Svendalens Max In A Million

3 Tycadno Quick Shot

PGD

1 Munday’s Furythor Reluctant Villian. Correct front and shoulders, neck of good length, correct in topline, good harsh double jacket, good tail set, moved ok both ways

1 Harrison and Inett and Bateman Carradine My Way Lenny. Gray Brindle good size on him, a gorgeous head, neat ears, good bone and front, standing on good feet, correct shoulder leading into correct neck and topline, good tail set, hindquarters strong in hock that helped him move so well, Dog CC second I was told third cant be far away,

2 Thomas and Jones Tycadno New Tricks. Cream of quality, Little bigger than 1 but well balanced, in very good condition and good double jacket, moved well will changes place on another day.

3 Parkins Mosspur Into The Shadows

OD

1 Ballinger’s Ch Cloverbrook Game Set N’ Match. I give this dog BOB when I judged a open show a few years ago I said then he should make up and I’m so pleased he has. Up to size but so well balanced love his head, those dark eyes. strong in jaw with correct bite and big teeth, good front standing on good feet, moved with ease and power, so pleased to give him the RCC

2 Felter’s and Rumens Ch Landbuck Sabrage. Another very worthy Champion of class, super head, correct front, his double jacket is in A1 condition and harsh, and he moves so well for and aft unlucky to meet 1 today

3 Thomas Tycado Magic Man I was told after judging first five were champions

GCD

1 Tycando Quickshot

SBB

1 Metcalf-Sault Cannwood Quiet Reflections. I could not assess her properly as the noise of the drains upset her a lot, but what I could I gave her first place I got to say the noise of stepping on the drains did upset a few in the three breeds I judged on the day

VB

1 Smiths Cannwood Misty Dawn At Gethlee. 8 years young, cream looking good for her age, very sweet head neat in ears, good front, in very good double jacket move well both ways. BVIB.

2 Metcalf-Sault Cannwood Call Me Aggie. Sister to 1 so very similar remarks and could change places another day, both had very good movement and both in excellent coat

MPB

1 Shannon and Storr Brenndarcy Supertramp. two very nice puppy’s nice head with neat ears, dark eyes, correct mouth, good in front with neat feet, correct topline with a good harsh jacket, moved well

2 Saich’s Lindcoly Whos The Girl (NAF). Another who was upset with the noise of the drains today, but seen enough. liked her a lot similar remarks as one in lovely condition

PB

1 Hiam and Hartop Carradine Hazel Moon. 11 months old red young lady but a bit naked today without furnishings, she looked a bit tall but when she back in coat she do well as she is looking very promising. Neat head good front moved well, and no coat you can see more of her make and shape think she will do well

JB

1 Firths Glenrood Silent Whisperer At Carngold. A bitch of quality, very feminine head with correct stop, strong underjaw with correct bite, good front and feet, in good jacket harsh to the feel, good backend, tail set good, moved so well should have a lot of fun with her

2 Waugh’s Tribannon Angel’s Kiss. Dark brindle another I liked a lot shows a lot of promise, of good size and should do well but today she wasn’t in the coat condition of one, moved positive both ways

GB

1 Firths Cairngold Claim To Fame. Brindle bitch of correct size, broad in skull, correct stop, good eye colour, with correct topline with good length, ribs well sprung, moved ok both ways, should do well.

2 Parkins Svendalens Dancing Queen. Bigger than one, and little overweight today, she shows a lovely expression and very happy, loved her mam, moved ok

PGB

1 Felter’s and Rumens Landbuck Amethyst. Very smart bitch I liked a lot in excellent condition, loved her head so feminine of correct size, her double jacket was good, top was harsh to the touch hocks well let down that helped her move so well, I hope she goes on and do well

2 Keeves Seveek Spring Blossom. Neat bitch all round, but she was out of condition and jacket today and up against first that was so in great nick, but like to see her in a few months time

LB

1 Thomas and Jones Casteline Seren At Tycadno. Well this was a very good class, and I not going to lie but I have always wanted to get my hands on this bitch, as I have loved the look of her since seeing her at her first show as a puppy and boy was I not disappointed she screams Cairn for me, a head to die for, broad in skull, powerful muzzle correct bite, darkest of eyes, good in front with good bone standing on good feet, correct in shoulders, leading into a correct topline with good ribs tail bang on she moved so well, no hesitation on awarding her first CC and later BOB where she went well in the group.

2 Osborn’s Be Gin Again At Tweslam. Gray brindle similar make and shape as one, another I liked a lot she got a cracking head, and good front and feet, her condition and presentation was first class and she move so well fore and aft hope she goes on and do well.

3 Thomas and Jones Tycadno Dark Star

OB

1 Thomas Tycadno Winter Star. A good breeder is someone that breeds consistency you can look at the dog/bitch and say who bred it and that’s a clever breeder it takes a long time to get there, but you are lucky in Cairns, where you have a few of these, very smart bitch, just screams cairn, lovely head, ears, correct length in neck, good topline hocks and correct bend of stifles just enough, brilliant harsh jacket moved well RCC I hear she not long been made up. Congratulations.

2 Shannon Brenndarcy Witches Promise. Another Quality bitch a little smaller than 1st but very smart, but similar in make and shape again she got lovely head, shoulders topline, jacket A1, and moved with drive both ways nice bitch.

3 Yates and Johnson Ch Pendley Sea Breeze. A trio of lovely bitches
