Cairn Terriers

V (2)

1 Lamb & Saltmarsh’s Birselaw Fable of Macmoon, a masculine well ribbed dog with a good topline, well carried tail & good hindquarters which gave him some drive from the rear. RBD;

2 Bowness’ Birselaw Folksong, litter sister to the winner, beautifully balanced & very typy. Pleasing head with dark sparkling eyes, adequate depth of rib & strong loin, she couldn’t quite match the hind action of the winner.

PD (1)

1 Ball’s Lentrica Let’s Dance at Calamondin, I thought this was a lovely puppy of good type & real quality. Smallish head with a keen alert expression. Decent forehand, good depth of rib. He could carry a little more weight to advantage but this will come with maturity. Excellent coat texture. A really good mover & grand showman. BP over a very smart bitch.

PGD (2)

1 Lamb & Saltmarsh’s Birselaw Dark Charmer, he caused me a dilemma as I was aware that the Standard states the coat is very important & he was really in his underclothes today. However he is well made with good shoulders & forelegs & his movement is free & fluid with some drive;

2 Dodds’ Birselaw Stand With Me, typical & well balanced but a little heavy in body & rather sluggish on the move. Excellent textured jacket, good head & eye. Good depth of rib.

OD (2)

1 Shaw’s Ch Honeyhall Headboy, a smashing dog of lovely type, balance & quality. Workmanlike but clean & well presented. Smallish head with good breadth of skill & a very alert expression. Strong forehand, level back & good depth of rib. Moved soundly in a very typical fashion. BD & BOB;

2 Lamb & Saltmarsh’s Renshaw There And Back Again under Macmoon.

PB (1)

1 Shannon & Storr’s Brenndarcy Cloudbusting, smart, workmanlike & alert & shown in good jacket & condition. Pleasing moderate angulation front & rear, well ribbed with good loin. Excellent jacket, free moving & sound but not quite the propulsion of the dog puppy.

PGB (1)

1 RBB, Bowness’ Birselaw Blithe Spirit, well balanced with a good head & expression, neat ears. Good forehand with adequate bone & well padded feet. Well ribbed back with good loin. Pleasing topline & tail carriage.

LB (1)

1 Shannon & Storr’s Brenndarcy Moonstruck, very smart & workmanlike with a well presented harsh, double coat. Good head, keen alert expression. Deep ribbed with good topline. Pleasing free moving profile action. BB.
