CAIRN JUDGE EAST OF ENGLAND 08

Cairn Terriers

PD

1 Inett & Harrison’s Noncom Inett Tu Winnit with Carradine, 9 months r/br with dark points, a good specimen to start the day, good scissor bite with nice large teeth, attractive head with a correctly coloured eye, moved well behind & maintained topline on the move, good tailset, showed well despite the heat. Could do with a little more jacket. Deserving BP.

JD

1 Purvis’ Mosspur Licensed To Thrill, wheaten, in good coat & condition, moved OK, nice flow of neck with well-laid back shoulders, well coupled with good rear angulation, nice keen expression;

2 Keeves’ Conundrum Under Your Spell with Seveek, well coated, vibrant red dog with dark points, well balanced & pleasing to the eye, showed well, but preferred the movement & size of 1.

PGD

1 Moseley & Inett’s Spawyche Elizabethan Onyx, lovely dog, light red with dark points, well muscled, bodied & conditioned, very good mouth with excellent full mouth & scissor bite, maintained topline & tail carriage well on the move, moved straight in front. Still to mature;

2 Lynch’s Fieldron Call My Bluff at Linacrelads, wheaten dog with dark points, good head with good dark eye & pronounced stop, creating a good ‘Cairny’ expression, generally a conformationally sound dog, moved well in rear. Not at the ideal weight.

LD

1 Stephinson’s Twohoots Barnabas, overall an excellent specimen, fantastic head & expression with nicely coloured & shaped eye, good stop & well furnished head, a genuine Cairn type, well conformed, well muscled & in condition, perfect size for me, drove from behind & showed well. BD;

2 Keeves’ Maximal Between Dreams with Seveek, very showy & alert brindle with attractive dark points, good flow of neck into shoulder, level topline & well carried tail. Could do with bodying up a little. Preferred movement of 1.

OD

1 Copley’s Cloverbrook Play The Game, attractive light red dog with dark points, moved true in front & back, very sound, good scissor bite with nice large teeth, well developed brisket & forechest, (which was something that seemed to lack in the majority of both dogs & bitches) with nicely laid back shoulders. A little heavy, which made him appear shorter in leg. Deserving 1st & RBD;

2 Dolan & Inett’s Glenrood Ice Man, very good expression on this wheaten, nicely built overall, moved very well in front, good short muzzle with a good dark, almond shaped eye. In good coat & condition.

PB

1 Inett & Harrison’s Noncom Minnie The Minx at Carradine, good 9 months brindle bitch. Out of coat but well built. Good scissor bite, keen ‘Cairny’ expression, moved well, perfectly balanced, good weight, a nice size for this age;

2 Burgin’s Noncom Lucy Locket, very mature bitch for her young age, very well conformed, with good expression & mouth, in good coat & condition. Unfortunately not coping well with the heat, & I would have preferred a little more size.

JB

1 Lovelace’s Condundrum Tick A T Boo, this bitch embodies the phrase small but perfectly formed, a stunningly attractive little girl, good bite, dark eye, typical expression with pronounced stop, good earset & well furnished, moved true, maintained topline on move, very good weight & condition, simply a little too small for me at this age, a real shame, as I liked this bitch a lot.

PGB

1 Moseley’s Carradine Sapphire at Spawyche, lively two years bitch, good deep brisket & well developed forechest, well muscled & conditioned, pleasing head with corrected placed ears, used attentively, brilliant overall outline & balance, really flows from front to back, moved true, once settled;

2 Waites’ Svendalens Lucky in Love, nicely formed smallish girl. Would prefer a little more length of back, drove well from behind, correct rear angulation with correct tailset. Preferred balance & movement of 1.

LB

1 Stephinson’s Twohoots Agnes, well proportioned & balanced cream bitch, well presented, good typical expression, nicely feminine head, moved well in rear, one striking thing about this bitch is her flow from head to back, her lovely length of neck & pleasing overall form. Not in her best jacket, but still pushing for BB. RBB;

2 Clarke’s Conundrum Sweeter For Me for Lentrica, showed well, maintained her topline well on the move, driving from behind, very pretty head, unfortunate to come up against such high quality as 1.

OB

1 Inett & Harrison’s Curtisy Foreign Account with Carradine, very typy attractive grey brindle with dark points, excellent pigmentation in eye, her cheeky Cairn expression made her memorable, moved well, she is excellently conformed with lovely balance of angles in every plane, perfect size for me, but her best feature has to be her balance & flow, she is not overstated in anyway, & as such, fulfils my criteria for an excellent specimen. It is a shame she was not in full coat. Nevertheless, a deserving BB & BOB;

2 Keeves’ Seveek The Mystery Of Dreams, dark brindle, well muscled & of good size, scissor bite & good dark eye, well balanced, but could do with losing a pound.
