Cairn Terriers

Many thanks to the committee for inviting me to judge several terrier breeds without tickets. It was a wonderful show, with a good atmosphere, blessed with decent weather. All though the quantity of dogs wasn’t huge, there was certainly quality to be found in the entries. Many thanks to all the exhibitors for their time, effort & cost in the preparation of their dogs for showing under me, it is appreciated.

Some great exhibits to go over, making for close decisions, made it more interesting judging mixed sex classes.

J (3,1a)

1 Confue’s Anjofra Mad About Me, 12 months bitch. Decent head with dark eye. Well set on neck with ample length. Back level & of medium length. Well angulated throughout & well ribbed. In good jacket, moved OK;

2 Firth’s Cairngold Clara, 8 months bitch. Promising puppy. Pleasing head with alert expression. Well bodied throughout, in good jacket. Played the handler up on the move. BP.

PG (3)

1 Keeves’ Seveek I Dreamed A Dream, 2½ years bitch. Pretty feminine head, sparkling eye, good earset & good dentition. Well balanced through body. In good jacket. Moved well & on her toes. Preferred the overall balance & size of the winner;

2 Brennan’s Cloverbrook I Mean Business at Milindack, younger male & very masculine throughout. Strong in head & body. Good eye, dentition & earset. Moved OK;

3 Purvis’ Svendalens Memoire Cherie.

O (10)

A great class to judge, with some good dogs missing out in the cards.

1 Keeves’ Seveek Living The Dream, 2 years bitch. Demanded attention from the minute she entered the ring. Balanced throughout with everything in the right place. Always alert & moving with free effortless ease, true both coming & going. Good head with a full stop. Well bodied throughout with ample angulation & good muscletone. Good length to height ratio. In good coat. Fitting the standard to a T for me. BOB. Was delighted to see her shortlisted in the group;

2 Braybrook’s Cloverbrook Copyright, another bitch from the top drawer & I am sure they will change places on other days. Same comments apply as to 1. Again fulfilling the Standard in full. Not quite the get up & go of the winner today;

3 Clarke’s Lentrica Sweet Sensation. Best Breeder 1 Braybrook, lovely trio of Cairns. Put down to perfection & all sporting their best jackets. Balanced throughout & handled well by the team. Look forward to seeing them representing the breed in the big ring at Crufts.
