CAIRN JUDGE LEEDS 18

Thank you Leeds Dog Show Committee for inviting me to judge and my ring stewards for their support. I know we were crying out for rain but it could have waited another day! There was depth of quality in the Cairns with almost all having the desired forechest, movement was good only a very few close behind - the ground was not good and the grass long. Thank you all for coming.

MPD (2, 1)

1 Shannon & Storr's Calehill's Go Above And Beyond (Imp Dnk). 9 month red brindle up to size head maturing correct dentition, strong well boned, good feet when he finally settled topline ok, movement hard to assess.

PD (1) 1 Miller's Cornton Fyne Fettle. Aptly named, a true showman, classic head, big teeth, neat ears, good neck, well placed shoulders, level topline, tailset spot on, standing well forward, plenty of forechest, good bone, moved with drive, a lovely young dog. BP and Puppy Group 1. Very well done.

JD (4)

1 Percy's Winetta Quest For Fame. Grey brindle, a lovely dog to go over, classic head, big teeth, neat ears, real Cairn expression, he fits the breed standard so well, moved with ease holding his topline, standing well forward with good forechest, strong back end, an honest Cairn, mature for his age, put down to perfection, pleased to award him the CC and BOB.

2 Lamb & Saltmarsh's Birselaw Come Dancing With Macmoon.Wheaten brindle, wonderful head, correct bite, neat ears, shoulder placement correct, good forechest, moved well, not quite firm in topline yet, unlucky to meet first.

3 Firth's Cairngold Chico.

LD 4,1)

1 Hogarty's Cadagio Take That. Wheaten brindle, keen expression, well set ears, very good bite, lovely neck, well constructed shoulders, good forechest, in hard condition with well muscled hindquarters, moved well holding his topline RCC.

2 Keeves' Seveek I Spied That Dream. Red brindle who fits the standard so well, beautiful head, well muscled, firm level topline, he moves well but loses concentration, could so easily be winning top honours.

3 Lamb & Saltmarsh's Birselaw Dark Charmer For Macmoon ShCM.

OD (3)

1 Catto's Birselaw Stay With Me. Dark brindle, lovely type and balance, expressive head, good bite, correct construction, good muscletone, moved ok holding his topline, at one with his handler, lacked sparkle today, lovely dog to go over, worthy champion.

2 Shannon & Storr's Ch Brendarcy Tinsoldat. Clear red, wonderful head and expression, neat ears, sound in every way, moved well holding his topline, lacks concentration at times, deserves his title.

3 Ball's Lentrica Let's Dance At Calamondin.

VD (1)

1 Lamb & Saltmarsh's Birselaw Fable Of Macmoon ShCM. Looking good for his age, typical head with good mouth in short but correct coat moved well.

MPB (2,1)

1 Pett's Million Dollar Dreamer For Doonrae. Wheaten brindle, 6 months, good coat coming, head still immature, good topline and tailset, moved ok and behaved well on the table, up to size.

PB (3,2)

1 Catto's Birselaw Viking Princess. Pretty wheaten brindle, sweet head, topline and tailset ok, very smart and assured mover in full coat, attentive to her handler.

JB (3,1)

1 Thomas' Tycadno Dancing Star. Wheaten with dark points, gorgeous head, desired expression, good bite, correct neck, well placed shoulders, level topline and correct tailset, good angulation and muscletone, straight front with forechest, nice bone, coat presented well, a lovely Cairn, standing moved well when she settled, very close to CC winner, her time is near! RCC.

2 Lund's Cairngold Brandy Snap. Red, pretty girl with a sweet head and expression, correct bite, well set ears, level topline and tailset, in good coat, moved smartly.

PGB (3)

1 Firth's Cairngold Carolina. Red brindle, nice size, typical head, good bite, well constructed frame, standing well forward with forechest, correct coat, an honest bitch not overdone, moved well.

2 Soper's Elitecharm Five Of Diamonds. Wheaten with dark muzzle, lovely head and neat ears, good bite, nicely made and good muscletone, good for size, enough angulation, when standing she appears to slope up towards her tail, the coat needs attention there, not moving as well as first today, didn't like the rain!

3 Miller's Cornton Starr Turn.

LB 3(1)

1 Pett's Brendarcy Hunky Dory Among Doonrae. Clear red, beautiful head, mischievous expression, well set on ears, good bite, lovely neck, shoulders and forechest, well muscled hindquarters, moved well keeping her topline, good bone, presented in correct coat, naughty at times, a lovely girl. CC.

2 Percy's Winetta I've Got A Feeling. Grey brindle, sound and honest Cairn. Lovely head, correct bite, neat ears, good front and rear angulation, moved ok keeping her topline, not putting all in today, lovely girl.

OB (3)

1 Shannon & Storr's Ch Brendarcy Cloudbursting. Light red in good coat, lovely head, good bite, well set on shoulders, good front and rear angulation, balanced and standing well forward over forechest, moved ok, holding topline, did enough to win the class but gave up in the challenge, lovely bitch, a favourite of mine and a worthy champion.

2 Hogarty's Ir Ch Cadagio As Long As You Have Me. Red, very expressive head, nice eye, good bite, lovely type, good front and rear angulation, kept her topline on the move, not so positive rear movement as first, another lovely bitch.

3 Thomas' Tycadno Miss Moneypenny.
