CAIRN RICHMOND 10 Judge: Mr Martin Phillips (Jaeva) CAIRN JUDGE RICHMOND 10 CAIRN TERRIER Thank you to all the exhibitors for supporting me in my first appointment in this breed. I would like to thank my two stewards for their efficient work today, and the Society for inviting me. VD (1) 1 Ehrenberg’s Ch. Carradine Master Tigger. 7 yr old brindle, of very good type and size, excellent head and eye, good shoulder placements, good straight forelegs, pleasing body, with tail set bang on top, ok in body for age, very good coat and texture, went well. PD (4) 1 Keeves’ Seveek Who Dares Wins. Very promising brindle, with lovely head and good eye expression, neat ears, good body for age, with correct ribbing, good strength of loin, like him to be a bit tighter in front, quality coat, handled well. Best Puppy. 2 Peer’s Tweedisle Mac Nab. Nice size of pup with nice shape and balance, good dark eye, good neck, shoulders and front, would like more length of rib and more strength in muzzle, moved ok, in good coat. 3 Confue’s Anjofra Im Not Going. JD (1) 1 Goldfinch’s Kanawha Kaughr In A Draught. 16 mth old brindle, liked his head and expression, and strength of skull, good eye, ok for bone, would like more length of body and tighter front, tailset on top, strong quarters which he used on the move. LD (3) Not the best class of the day. 1 Kippen’s Chezaku Master Minder. Overall type and size good, with pleasing head and expression, front could be better, liked his ribbing, tail set could be better placed, but of good coat and texture. 2 Bateman’s Dandi Boy Spud. Overall shape and size good, ok for bone, ok for soundness back and forth, not in his best coat, head proportions good, but would prefer a darker eye to improve expression. OD (6,1) 1 Ward’s Vanajam Pop Idol. Very impressive dog of quality, loved his overall shape, correct head proportions with that most important eye, neat ears, excels in neck and shoulders, with correct straight front, well sprung ribs, nice strength of loin, excellent quarters, tail on top, presented and in lovely condition, handled well, DCC and BOB. Nice to see him short listed in a very strong group. Was pleased to hear my predictions when I judge him last, I understand it was his crowning CC. Well done. 2 King & Leighton’s Carradine Night Listener At Harkinleigh. Dark brindle, won on his overall size and type, again with that true head and expression of a Cairn, preferred the lay back of shoulder of 1st. Strong body with correct quarters and tail set, handler gets the best out of this dog on the move, in excellent coat and presentation, lost out on 1st place preferring shoulder placement on 1st. 3 Short’s Glenchess All In The Stars. Presented and handled very well. Pleased to hear it was her crowning CC. 2 Hughes & Hooton’s Gyncairns Royal Velvet At Penticharm. My ideal type, loved everything about this bitch, very attractive head, good length of neck, shoulders well back, and straight forelegs, good depth of chest, correct length and well sprung ribs, strong loin, with quarters that she used.
