CAIRN RICHMOND 22 Judge: Mrs Elaine R Short (Glenchess) A numerically small entry but included some Cairns of very good quality. I do not judge on the Cairn who can remain in a show stance the longest, some get bored and drop tails, move them is my answer to this. Lovely to see a ring of happy Cairns moving round the ring. Coats are very short now two inches is the preferred length. Grass was a little long but ring was of a very good size. Thankyou to my two lovely stewards. 1 Waugh, Swing Dancer At Tribannon. Rangy wheaten boy with everything in the right place. Balanced head with a mouth of fine large teeth. Neat ears. He is attentive to handler and moves steadily. Up to size for his age. Has a coat of good texture. Moves truly and steadily, keeping his topline. Tail set correct carried at one o clock. 1 Shopland, Cherrycrack Siegfried. Wheaten boy, another rangy boy with a good quality coat. Lovely head and expression, excellent mouth, neat ears. Has a spring of rib elbows close to body, level topline kept on move, striding out purposefully. Correct well let down hocks, balanced angulation. 2 Hiam, Carradine Arfa Pint. A different build to the first, lots to like about him, he is balanced for his size and more compact. Well presented brindle coat. Attentive to handler. Has a slightly large eye, good mouth, neat ears. Moved straight and true, topline sometimes doesn’t look level. Ground didn’t help, grass a little long. Good spring of rib. Tail set correct and carried well. 1 Waugh, Glenrood Galaxy At Tribannon. Grey Brindle, coat a little dry looking and he needs more body. He is very leggy presently, not helped by his lack of body. He has a dark eye and a correct expression. Moved okay with well set tail. 1 Parker-Tucker, Uniquecottage Grey Borage. A wheaten dog of more medium size, very well balanced and had the best presentation of coat today. Length of coat correct for standard. Excellent head and proportions, neat ears, correct bite. Spring of rib. Level topline kept on the move, well angulated rear with well let down hocks. When he settled he moved purposefully straight and true. Tail correct angle. In the challenge he really came into his own. RCC. 2 Saich, Lindcoly The Great Oz. Grey brindle boy, lots to like about this exhibit, moved soundly he had good balance for the breed, His head was balanced with good eye and teeth, sadly he had rather big ears which were a little low set. Moved soundly with good body outline. 1. Shopland, Cherrycrack Horatio. Wheaten, balanced boy, up to size. Coat of correct texture and length. Head with correct balance skull to muzzle ratio. Correct shaped dark eye and ear placement. Good dentition. Neck into clean shoulders. Spring of rib, firm topline, correct tailset. Not an easy dog to show but he settled eventually and held a pleasing outline. Has well let down hocks, pleasing angulation front and rear. CC 2 Hiam, Carradine Podgy Paddy. Light grey brindle, compact and different to number one in size and balance. He has a pleasing head and expression, could do with a little more front angulation. Topline kept on move, correct tailset. Moved soundly. Coat was soft in parts. He was not podgy. 1 Parker Tucker, Tom Trick’s Incredibly Ilay of Uniquecottge (IMP). Dark grey brindle medium in size, Pleasing expression with balanced proportions to head. Mouth good, neat correctly set ears. Spring of rib. Level topline and well set on tail.
