Cairn Terriers

A small entry with some quality exhibits. Heads have improved with no long snipey muzzles, much better ratio in balance to skull. A couple had round staring eyes which spoils the expression. Still front angulation needs improvement to allow reach in front movement.

PD (2)

1 Catto, Birselaw Stay With Me, 9 months r/br in a good coat of correct texture & length. Sound & showy, up to size with correct balance & sound on the move with all desired ground covering action. Excellent mouth, dark eye & well balanced head. RCC & BP;

2 Smith’s Rocasovale Danish Delight, more compact puppy, r/br, shorter coupled than 1 & not so confident. Dark eye & excellent mouth, movement a little erratic until he settled. Coat of good texture.

JD (1)

1 Marshall’s Brenndarcy Lord Marmaduke avec Strathgarten, wheaten, balanced head, dark eye & good mouth, medium for size. His coat is of excellent texture. Could cover the ground more, would like a little more of him.

PGD (1)

1 Miller’s Cornton Dark Corrie, a very lovely head on this boy. Dark brindle with a coat of correct texture a little untidy. Medium size, moved soundly but he was not very enthusiastic about being there. Could go further if he could enjoy the proceedings more.

LD (3)

1 Day’s Cherrycrack Ludo at Trekhilli, balanced dog one of the best movers of the day, dark brindle jacket of excellent texture, presented in top class condition. Good strong masculine head with lovely expression. Up to size with correct angulation fore & aft, covered the ring effortlessly, just lost enthusiasm in the challenge;

2 Catto’s Nordcairn’s Once Upon A Time at Birselaw, dark brindle, lovely head & expression, stands well forward on forepaws, moved soundly. Very good jacket, tail had a little too much hair left at the tip for balance;

3 Inett & Engebretsen’s Carradine Dexter.

OD (5,2a)

1 Shaw’s Ch Honeyhall Headboy, he was the head boy today. Liked this dog for his size & balance, all masculine presented & shown expertly. Gr/br with a lovely head & expression. Good eye & mouth, neat ears. Moved effortlessly round the ring, never stopped showing. CC;

2 Shannon, Storr & Kaplan’s Am Gr Ch Brenndarcy Borgen, red with a good texture coat, a little short today. Shorter coupled male who has a lovely dark eye & a balanced head with neat ears. Very good mouth. Would like more ground covering action as he moves in the ring;

3 Percy’s Winetta Sir Ivor.VD (1) 1 Smith’s Ch Rocasovale Razzle Dazzle, 9 years young, r/br, coat a little short today of correct texture, a balanced dog with a typical head & expression. Mouth fine & good eye in a head of correct proportions, enjoying his day. Moved steadily. BV.

PB (8)

1 Clarke’s Lentrica Dolly Daydream, wheaten/br, a very smart girl who is very eyecatching. Very good balance, could have a little more front angulation, clean neck & shoulders, level topline & good tailset. Lovely expression with a balanced head. Sound mover;

2 Inett, Harrison & Clayton’s Carradine Miss Molly, r/br, head needs more furnishings to complete the picture. Good neck & shoulders & balanced with a good topline kept on the move. Good mouth & correct eye colour. Moved steadily & soundly;

3 Miller’s Cornton Rosemaree.

JB (3)

1 Day’s Trekhilli Pickled Peppa, what a beautiful girl! Her head & expression are spot on. She has a good stop & skull with neat ears. Good mouth, excellent eye, correct balance of muzzle to skull. Matching angulation front & rear, level topline, clean neck & shoulders & has a forechest with a spring of rib. Excellent tailset. Coat of very good texture & expertly presented. Moved with verve & drive. No hesitation in awarding her the CC & BOB;

2 Inett, Harrison & Clayton’s Carradine Connie’s Kirsty, another fine specimen of the breed, presented in gorgeous coat of correct texture. Beautiful head, eye could be a little darker but not detracting from a lovely expression. Clean neck & shoulders, good spring of rib, level topline & excellent angulation, standing well forward which in turn gives forward drive. Pleased to award her RCC;

3 Dawson’s Sybster Saffron.

PGB (1)

1 S Saffron, third in last class. Untidy coat. Pretty head & expression. More ring training required. Front movement needs more extension.

LB (3,1)

1 McGrath’s Brenndarcy Ciinnamon Girl for Owenreagh, a very nice red bitch in a good quality coat, well presented. Good size & balance. Lovely head & expression with a good mouth & lovely eye. Could move with more extension in front & drive behind.

OB (3)

1 Percy’s Winetta Unforgettable, dark gr/br in a good quality coat. Lovely head & expression with a good balance to her muzzle & skull. Moved well when she relaxed & was sound in action. Clean shoulders, level topline, good tailset, considered for RCC;

2 Shannon & Storr’s Brenndarcy Dizzee Rascal, lovely red, with a very good head & expression. Good balance, clean shoulders, level topline held on the move, not as free on the move as I would like, could cover ground a little more in front movement. Good tailset & well let down hocks;

3 Carter’s Brenndarcy Dizzie Lizzie at Carernwil.

VB (1)

1 Dawson’s Sybster Sauvignon, wheaten bitch of 7, good coat quality, good head with a lovely expression, needs more ring training to show off her good points & more attention to her coat. Moved OK.
