CAIRN SKC MAY 17 Judge: Mr L Dean BEST OF BREED : 6231 PERCY Mrs J Winetta I've Got A Feeling CAIRN JUDGE SKC MAY 17 Cairn Terriers I would like to thank the committee of the SKC for the invitation to judge, & for their hospitality, my stewards Sheona Fortune & Margaret Shaw for their help after a long day for them both, & to all the exhibitors. The day was very enjoyable & overall I was happy with the quality of the entry. It is definitely worth noting that the height & weight of both the dogs & bitches varied dramatically over the total entry. As on all previous occasions when I have judged, all temperaments were excellent. PGD 1 Lamb & Saltmarsh’s Birselaw Dark Charmer for Macmoon, gr/br, expression was typical with eyes set well apart with a definite stop, ears well carried with dark tips, & good length of neck. He was lively & alert in the ring, & moved well at the front; 2 Smith’s Rocasovale Danish Delight, nice dark eyes, again with a typical Cairn expression, lovely teeth. A nicely proportioned dog, he had a good length of leg, good strong quarters. His coat was on the short side today. LD 1 Catto’s Birselaw Stay With Me, dark brindle, with a good profuse double coat. Nice dark hazel eyes & well furnished head & lovely big teeth with a correct bite. A large dog with strong muscular quarters, good tail & ear carriage. RCC. OD 1 Percy’s Winetta Sir Ivor, dark brindle, a keen expression, well furnished complementing his strong head, & a coat in great condition with an excellent harsh outer coat & nice soft undercoat. Excellent reach of neck, & good level back. He moved well with excellent propulsion from his back legs, with a good bend of stifle. Well presented. CC; 2 Smith’s Rocasovale Distant Drums, a r/br dog with nice dark points, good tail & ear carriage & a nice level back.
