CAIRN SKC MAY 19 Judge(s): MRS M F JOHNSTON DCC CH WINETTA QUEST FOR FAME (MRS J PERCY) My thanks to SKC for the invitation to judge this breed for the first time with CC’s. I have known the breed for over 40 years and during this time I have always admired their wonderful temperament and their sheer joy of living. This has never altered and was much in evidence today. I must thank my wonderful steward Sheona, hope she is fully appreciated. She did a wonderful job keeping myself and the exhibitors on their toes and in good order. Made sure my final BOB made the group ring. PD (1) 1 & BPD, Hartopp’s Penticharm Oh What A Knight. 10 months light wheaten brindle. Decent head with good width of skull, well filled in, strong muzzle, definite stop. Ears just a shade wide. Would prefer a slightly better lay of shoulder, well ribbed, strong topline and tailset. Could have more hind angulation. Moved and showed well. JD (2) 1 Saich’s Stoutheart Einstein For Lindcoly. Wheaten brindle. Decent head with good stop, strong muzzle, good bite. Ears a shade wide. Would prefer a better lay of shoulder but has a decent return of upper arm. Well ribbed, firm topline, good tailset, Moved with drive but would prefer more positive front movement. 2 Daley’s Valletlord Cafe Noir. Dark grey brindle. Coat in need of a tidy. Good head properties with definite stop, nice eye and ear. Would prefer better dentition. Acceptable lay of shoulder, well ribbed, good tailset, moved out well with drive. PGD (4) 1 & RCC, Firth’s Cairngold Chico. Red. Most attractive head, definite stop, good width of scull, well filled, strong muzzle good bite, nice eye and well placed and used ears. Good reach of neck, well ribbed, strong loin, firm topline, good tailset, enough hind angulation. Moved soundly with drive. 2 Lamb & Saltmarsh’s Birselaw Come Dancing With Macmoon JW Sh Ch. Grey brindle. Close decision. Another with attractive head, pleasing eye and ear good stop, dentition could be tidier.Well laid shoulder, well ribbed, strong loin, topline and tailset pleasing. Lovely free mover. 3 Miller’s Cornton Fyne Fettle. OD (4) 1, CC & BOB, Percy’s Ch Winetta Quest For Fame. Most eyecatching dark grey brindle, well presented. Lovely head and expression, definite stop, pleasing eye and ear. Well filled, strong muzzle excellent bite. Good reach of neck into a well laid shoulder with good return of upper arm. Well ribbed, firm loin, strong topline with good tailset and carriage. Well angulated quarters with short hocks. So well balanced throughout and this showed in free easy movement with drive and extension. 2 Saich’s Lindcoly Holwing Mad Murdoc. Decent head properties with nice eye and ear, stop could be more definite. Well ribbed, strong loin with good topline and tailset. Moved soundly but could be more animated. 3 Birselaw Dark Charmer For Macmoon Sh Ch. Dark wheaten brindle, finer made dog all through. Head could be more masculine, well laid shoulder, well ribbed, correct topline and tailset, moved with drive.
