My thanks to the Three Counties Canine Society for the opportunity to judge Cairn Terriers. Who would have known it was summer as it was very wet and cold but luckily, we were indoors. Thanks also to all exhibitors for braving the weather to get to the show.

PD (2)

1 Carradine Sir Percival (Lucas & Tobutt) Red brindle, 9 months. Dark eye, correct ear set. Good stop. Correct bite with good size teeth. Deep rib, double coated and well-presented and handled. In BP challenge he moved the better.

2. Ariom Northern Dancer with Winetta (Percy) Red, 11 months. Nice head with good stop. Correct bite. Level topline & good tailset. Well turned out and presented. Could have moved with more drive

1 Landbuck Sabrage (Felters & Rumens) Brindle dog who was well presented but unfortunately on the day just did not move at his best. Lovely head with good stop, dark eye, correct bite and dentition. Good expression. Good length of neck. Nice deep rib and lay of shoulders. Level topline, correct tailset, compact feet. Movement at front and rear correct. Shown in good double coat. So much to like. RCC

2 Lindcoly Golden Buick (Saich) Wheaten dog with dark eye, nice expression. Correct bite. Good deep rib. Up on his toes and presented in double coat

3. Carradine All Ways A Chance (Rose)

ND (3,2)

1 Furythor Reluctant Villain (Munday) Dark brindle dog with a lovely head. Correct stop, dark eye and head fully furnished. Good bite. Deep rib and level topline. Moved with drive from the rear.

PGD (4,1)

1 Tycadno New Tricks (Thomas & Jones) Handsome well balanced wheaten dog who was the best mover in this class. Well-presented shown in full double coat giving a lovely outline. Nice dark eye, good stop, expressive head. Correct bite and dentition. Good length of neck. Deep rib and good lay of shoulders leading to level topline. Moved with drive from the rear.

2 Mosspur Into The Shadows (Parkin) Red dog who moved better than 3. Nice head & furnishings. Good bite. Well presented

3 Tycadno Quick Shot (Sinclair & Tothill)

1 Tycadno Magic Man (Thomas) Handsome wheaten dog who moved with drive from the rear. Shown in good double coat and well presented. Nice head, dark eye and points correct stop, good bite. Good length of neck. Level topline. Compact feet. Overall, a pleasing outline. On his toes pleased to be showing.

2 Cannwood Moonlight Shadow (Roberts) Brindle dog, well presented & handled. Nice head, dark eye, good bite. Good shoulders and topline

3. Carradine Howzat Howard (Byrne)

OD (4,3)

1 Ch Cloverbrook Game Set Nmatch (Ballinger) I found my CC winner here, nothing about him was overdone. Super outline of a cairn who showed himself with enthusiasm throughout. Strong double coat which was not over groomed which I believe should be the case. Head & expression excellent, strong stop. Well-muscled and boned. Good lay of shoulders, level topline. Correct front. Moved around the ring with drive, almost effortless. CC

1 Glenrood Silent Whisperer at Cairngold (Firth) Wheaten, 10 months bitch. Lovely feminine head with dark eye and good stop. Correct bite and dentition. Good deep rib and lay of shoulders, level topline. Moved well front and rear. Well-presented, showing herself off. One to watch for the future.

JB (5,1)

1 Cairngold Claim to Fame Firth) I liked this bitch a lot and seriously considered giving her RCC. Dark brindle with lots of feminine qualities. Lovely head, dark eye, correct ear set, good bite. Good length of neck. Good rib and lay of shoulders, level topline. Well balanced. Moved the best in this class driving from the rear. Correct front.

2 Landbuck Amethyst (Felters & Rumens) Wheaten brindle bitch who didn’t move as well on the concrete surface. Lots to like with lovely feminine head and stop. Correct bite. Good deep rib, muscled, good lay of shoulders. Well turned out in strong double coat.

3. Tycadno Winter Star (Thomas)

NB (2)

1 Cannwood Quiet Reflections (Metcalf-Sault) A dark brindle bitch who was the more mature of the 2 in this class. She moved the better of the 2. Shown in full coat. Nice head & expression.

2 Lindcoly Times of Trouble (Saich) Still only a baby at 16 months so needs more time to develop. Nice dark eye, correct bite. Good bone. Needed more time to settle but moved OK.

1 Tycadno Dark Star (Thomas & Jones) A well-balanced red brindle bitch with a good head & expression. Dark eye & correct ear set. Good length of neck leading to good lay of shoulders, level topline. Preferred the movement of this bitch to 2. Sound both front & rear in movement. Shown in strong double coat.

2 Castleline Seren at Tycadno (Jones & Thomas) A well presented dark brindle bitch shown in full coat. Good head, dark eye, nice expression. Good lay of shoulders. Level topline. Moved OK

3. Breezy Kingussie Molly Connell (Goud)

LB (10,2)

1 Brenndarcy Witches Promise (Shannon & Storr) A well-balanced red brindle bitch with so much to like. Feminine head, sweet expression, dark eye, correct stop, correct bite. Good bone. Compact feet. Good length of neck. Good lay of shoulders and deep rib. Level topline. Quality double coat. Well-presented showing another, not overdone, cairn outline. Moved correctly front and rear. Up on her toes & enthusiastic. Pleased to award her RCC.

2. Cloverbrook Shining Star over Gethlee (Smith) Dark brindle bitch, good head with feminine expression. Well handled & presented. Moved better than 3. Nice muscle. Good length of neck leading to lay of shoulders. Shown in a full double coat.

3. Tweslam Be Gin The Magic (Osborn)

OB (6,2)

1 Ch Pendley Sea Breeze (Yates-Johnson) A well-balanced brindle bitch who catches the eye the moment she appears. Showed herself throughout, up on her toes. In a strong double coat, not overdone. Beautiful feminine head & expression, dark eyes, neat ears. Correct bite. Good length of neck, lay of shoulders and deep rib. Strong bone. Well-muscled. Level topline & correct tailset. Flowed around the ring, front movement correct, drove from the rear. Pleased to award her CC & BOB

2 N/se/dk Ch Stenrosets Kajsa Kavat (Imp Swe) Njv-21 Nv-24 Dkv-24 (Percy) A dark brindle bitch with lots to like. Feminine head with dark eye and stop. Correct bite. Good lay of shoulders. Well-muscled. Shown in strong double coat. Well-presented showing a great cairn outline. Moved better than 3

3. Lindcoly Phantom Menace (Saich)

VB (3)

1 Lentrica Liberty Bell (Goud) Dark brindle bitch who was the soundest of the 3 present. Nice head, dark eye, sweet expression. Good deep rib, level topline. Moved well and was the best mover in this class.

2 Cannwood Misty Dawn at Gethlee (Smith) Wheaten bitch with feminine head. Well presented in good double coat.

3. Cannwood Call Me Aggie (Metcalf-Sault)
