CESKY CITY OF BIRMINGHAM 25 Judge: Ms J Charleton Thank you to the exhibitors for their superb entry and to my ultra able legendary stewards, Graham and Roger, keeping me in safe hands. I was delighted with the entry quality. I commend the exhibitors on their presentation and sportsmanship. Our section of the hall was testing for the dogs and echoey with a clunky drain running through the ring. My principal winners all coped well, though a couple of exhibits seemed overwhelmed and were marked accordingly. My Best Of Sexes were both very dynamic veterans which is a tribute to their breeders and handlers. The Best of Breed really sparkled in the Terrier Group and was awarded Terrier Veteran Group 4. Veteran Dog 1st Mrs Tobijanski Ch Janski Bugurovski 7 yo Super handsome masculine chap at the top of his game and well deserving of his title. Good size. Lovely balanced blunt wedged head, not overdone, carried at correct angle on a good reachy neck which flowed into well laid shoulders. Good bone, super spring of rib, gentle rise, correct length of loin, good set on and carriage. Moved purposefully with drive. Excellent temperament and beautifully presented. Post Grad Dog 1 RICHARDSON MRS L Talyot Octavius Quality male of substance that I liked very much. Strong head, correct bite, correct ears set. Typical expression was marred by overclipped brows.This gave the impression the back skull was foreshortened but the head was correctly balanced. Excellent front assembly of correct width, strong bone, well muscled throughout, good cylindrical body with excellent spring of rib, and gentle rise, strong loin flowing into super croup and very powerful quarters. He was unhappy with the noisy hall but put on a brave face. Limit Dog 1 BISHOP MRS Wendy Ulmo Bohemia Des Hauteurs de La Sole at Kyntilly Smaller dog of pleasing size but still very masculine with good musculature. Scissor bite.Good small ear set. Well muscled rear quarters. Beautiful furnishings of the most attractive grey hue and well presented. Rather long in loin moving a tad wide behind. 2 RICHARDSON Mrs L Talyot Norman A very substantial dog with good bone but without coarseness. Pleasing balanced typey head. Scissor bite. Well laid shoulders. Superb front with straight legs. Tidy elbows. Well developed muscle throughout. Excellent body and cylindrical spring of rib. A little more neck and rise to loin would complete the picture. A little unsure today which affected movement and reflected in topline and tail carriage. Open Dog 1 SAMSON Mrs S & Mr G Talyot Magnus to Silak Beautiful Typey head that shouted all male. Pleasing size. Correct head proportions, scissor bite, good ears. Strong muscular neck carried at correct angle. Excellent lay of shoulder and forequarters. Super body and well ribbed. Just would prefer more rise to the loin. A very workmanlike demeanour. Strong rear driving quarters full of propulsion covering the ground well. RBD 2 BISHOP Mrs W Moraira Abel At Kyntilly Sound male in pristine muscular condition. Good length to head. Correct neck Longer cast than 1 and not showing his best today. He was unsettled which affected his movement and topline. Well presented in lovely jacket with a lustrous silky finish. Special Beg. Bitch 1 RICHARDSON Mr A alchemy Kiss Me Kate at Talyot (can imp) Pretty 16 month of pleasing size and type. Strong but feminine head, sparkling dark eye, correct breadth to skull, correct bite, used her ears well. Excelled in front assembly, lay of shoulder, spring and length of rib. Back level and broad with gentle rise over loin, good croup with good set on. A little unsure at the commencement of judging but settled into a rhythm as judging progressed, moving out purposely with vigour. A very pretty bitch. Veteran Bitch 1 SAMSON Mrs S & Mr G Talyot Ch Silas Shasgave Sound of Silence SHCM SHCEX A beautiful quality bitch out of the top drawer. Her condition and performance denies her age. Balanced outline with gentle rise, strong loin and body proportions. In pristine, well muscled, hard working condition, this girl is fit for purpose. Feminine wedged head, not overly furrowed, dark eye, correct bite and ear set. Neck gracefully arched, set at just the right angle gives her head carriage an air of superiority which held her in good stead in the Group. Correct angulation fore and aft gives her strong forceful drive and positive reach in front, producing vigorous and dynamic movement. Correct croup and set on with an expressive use of tail. She was there to impress which she did in style. BV BB BOB TVG4 Open Bitch 1 Tobijanski Mrs W Janski Zara Zipporah A very lovely quality bitch of just 20 months. Spot on for size correct height to body length proportions. Feminine head, good ear set, size and carriage. Beautiful reach of neck, graceful curve of nape and gentle rise to curvy loin gave her a very pleasing and balanced outline. She moved out with gusto due to well angled stifles producing good reach and drive. Judge: Ms J Charleton |
