CESKY JUDGE LEEDS 24

It is an honour and a privilege to be able to award CC’s in a breed you live with. It has taken me 15 years to get to this stage in my judging career and I am incredibly grateful to those who encouraged me to continue when it seemed like this day would never come. My grateful thanks to the society for their kind invitation and generous hospitality through the day. I thoroughly enjoyed my day and thank each exhibitor for their entry and allowing me to assess their dogs. Bites were good in all exhibits and while there were a few less outgoing ones, temperaments were good overall. Please as breeders/ guardians/custodians of this fantastic breed, be mindful of size. 11 and a half inches for males, 10 and a half for females, is what we should all be aspiring to. We are fortunate to have copious contemporaneous notes due to the fairly recent evolution of this breed. Frantisek Horak always claimed smaller was preferable. My Best of Breed was the female Samson’s Silak Shasgav Sound of Silence ShCM ShCEX, her second. I am sure her third will not be too long coming. She is all I want in a Cesky, in size, shape and balance. She is feminine and what a showgirl! I judged her first as a 6month old puppy some 6 and a half years ago and she still gives me goosebumps to go over, just like her Paternal Grandfather did. She just flows!

JD (1,0)

1 Pearson’s Winoski Aemond - 17 month light grey male. Good in eye and mouth. Strong masculine head with good ear placement. Tail set good. Was a little uncooperative today on the move. RBD

PGD (1,0)

1 Pearson’s Winoski Aemond – as above

OD (1,0)

1 Tobijanski’s Ch Janski O’Rolox – 2year old grey male. Blunt wedge shaped masculine head, good bite. This young dog has done a lot of winning and has plenty of attributes. I hope his colour clears. Presented immaculately and is a very showy young man. BD.

PB (3,2)

1 Tobijanski’s Janski Zara Zipporah. 9 month dark grey female. Very pretty, showy young lady. Loved her feminine head and size. Good eye and bite. Good length of neck into good front and slightly better rear. Holds her topline really well on the move. Hopefully her colour will clear and I will watch her future with interest. BP.

2 Fairfield’s Janski Zelda – 9 months lighter grey female. Different type to 1st, heavier set all over. Presented well, more reserved than 1st.

JB

1 Fairfield’s Janski Zelda – 2nd in last class.

PGB (2,0)

1 Samson’s Silak Never Miss a Beat - 18month grey female. Lovely feminine, blunt wedge shaped head, good eye, good bite. Lovely length of neck into well angulated shoulders and equally good rear. Tail set good. She moves really well showing her correct topline, however, only with the one handler! She’s a really promising youngster. RBB.

2 Kirk-Ashby’s Moraira Alena - 3 year old dark grey female. Lovely feminine head, good eye and mouth. Liked her length of neck and shoulders but she was quite nervous on the table so it was difficult to assess without upsetting her too much. As a result she didn’t show herself to advantage on the move either.

LB

1 Samson’s Silak Shasgav Sound of Silence ShCM ShCEX - Here she was! I didn’t know if I would still like her as much as I have previously, we all age differently! I judged her first as a 6 month old puppy, 6 and a half years ago. I asked to take her home with me then. I feel the same way about her today. This bitch has everything I was looking for. She has attitude in spades. She has a lovely feminine head of the most correct proportions. Good bite, fabulous shape and size to her close fitting ear. Beautiful throw of neck into such well laid shoulders, good depth to her ribs, clean front, lovely tuck up and rise over her loin into equally well angulated rear with correct tail set. She gives me goosebumps every time just like her paternal grandfather Captain did. I was delighted to award her her second CC & BOB. I hope she gains her well deserved crown soon.

2 Pearson’s Znovenka Hamentashen at Winoski (Imp Cze) - Light grey 5year old female. Unfortunately she was up against my BOB today and it didn’t help she wouldn’t co operate with her handler and had taken a chunk out of her fall!

OB (3,0)

1 Kirk-Ashby’s Ch. Komidion Rhythm at Moraira - 4 year old mid grey female. I like this bitches head proportions, shape, her throw of neck and front assembly. She is good in rear, scissor bite, topline. She was a little too reticient in the challenge for top honours today.

2 Rodgers and Dukes’ Ch Placido Musical Miracle at Runiks - A very showy, mature bitch, presented beautifully. I just preferred the make and shape of 1st.

3 Tobijanksi’s Ch Janski Yamizzable Witch JW
