CESKY JUDGE SKC MAY 18

Very appreciative to have been invited to judge Cesky Terriers with Challenge Certificates. As usual this is such a well run show in the very nice venue at Ingleston. I had a good entry for a Friday and a quality entry of the dogs and bitches entered.

PD (1)

1 Tobijanski's Janski Bugurovski. Lovely 6 months 3 day old, very confident on the table. Fairly long head with eyebrows and beard coming, slightly arched skull with high set triangular pendant ears, stop to muzzle slightly tapering to blunt end, correct dentition, dark eyes, nose. Elegant neck to shoulders, topline rising over an arched loin over a well ribbed body of medium length, clipped blue-grey coat with feathering to belly and on short boned legs, slightly reluctant at first but once into his brisk stride was a little showman. BPD BPIB.

PGD (1)

1 Scott-Downie's Janski Quintavius. Boy at the top end of standard, relatively long with short boned legs well presented clipped coat with belly and legs feathering. Slightly flat in skull with high set triangular ears, moderate length to tapering muzzle of similar length with furnished beard, slight stop, dark eyes under good brows, spongy nose. Medium length to neck onto shoulders, angulated front to short well boned legs and round feet. Top line with slight rise over his loin, tail set and carried bit high, muscular body and quarters, sprung ribs longer in loin, well developed quarters. Strong hocks moved out with style and rear drive.

OD (2)

1 Tobijanski's Janski Ceskasson Blue Moon. Very impressive on the stance with nice temperment. Balanced head slight arched skull, defined slight stop, dark expressive eyes under good brows, furnished blunt muzzle, big nose. Holds head well on a long muscular neck, deep chest with good width short well shaped and boned legs with nice feathering. A well angulated shoulder, good length of body well ribbed back with short loin with slight tuck. Lovely presentation to short clipped coat beautiful silver colour with nice sheen, super feathering to belly. Strong well muscled quarters well furnished, muscular thighs and strong hocks. Impressive mover with good drive and forward action holding tail out slightly. DCC and BOB, delighted to learn this was his third and crowning CC.

2 England & Burrage's Ashleyheath's Black Thunder ShCM. Slightly smaller boy full of quality. Relatively long head with blunt muzzle with furnished beard, slightly arched skull, high set dropped ears, dark expressive eyes under good brows, nice defining stop. Elegant carriage on moderate neck, not quite the angulated shoulders of my winner or the depth of chest, holds elbows in on straight well boned short legs. Firm topline with slight rise over loin to nice tail set and carriage. Long well ribbed back body with short loin with tuck. Super sheen to clipped black jacket with coated belly. Muscular thighs with strong parallel hocks well coated. Very sound brisk mover with stylish action. RCC.

PB (1)

1 Moores' Grancek Tzuriya At Larelkie. 7 months old, feminine head nicely arched skull, high set ears well hung down, dark alert eyes under brows that could be fuller. Slight stop, blunt muzzle limited beard. Good length of neck well laid shoulders and nice angulated forequarters with enough depth to chest. Short legs would like little more strength of bone, round feet. Firm back slight rise over loin to tail set and carried little high. Well ribbed back little longer in loin to strong rump and thighs, firm straight hocks. Needed more furnishings to belly and legs but presentation was good to her conditioned dark brown coat. Showed and handled well, a sound mover with nice action once she settled. BPB.

PGB (1)

1 England & Burrage's Shasgav Nothin Else Matters By Ashleyheath. 19 months old, brown coated with lovely furnishings. Very feminine of nice size, height to length. Very pretty bitch with lovely long head of good balance and with nice blunt muzzle, slight stop between dark expressive eyes, well set and hung ears. Furnished brows and muzzle. Muscular neck to shoulder and correct topline with slight rise over loin, tail set and carried little high. Nice condition to a dark coat with correct belly and legs feathering on well boned short legs with large round feet. In nice body condition well sprung ribs with depth to chest little too much width slightly out at the elbows. Moved with brisk hind action inclined to pull out which spoilt her front.

LB (2)

1 Fewings' Komidion Passionato. Has been a favourite since I first saw her as a puppy, so pleased to have the opportunity to judge her today. Has developed into a beautiful youngster with a lovely relatively long head of good balance with blunt muzzle, high set ears nice shape well hung, dark alert eyes, spongy nose, correct dentition, nicely furnished brows, and beard. Head held proudly on elegant moderate muscular neck into well laid back shoulders and well angled upper arm, firm backline with slight rise over loin, well held tail. In tip top body condition well sprung ribs short loin over which is a dark grey silky coat in lovely presentation with nice belly feathering. Short well boned legs and big padded feet well coated with feathering. Strong quarters, good brisk mover with rear drive and free front action. RCC.

2 Thomson & Forbes' Karensbrae Frozen Heart. Feminine bitch, but head is slightly stronger and longer in skull, foreface is shorter needing more length, blunt muzzle well furnished beard. Brown eyes with expression well furnished brows. Shortish muscled neck, shoulders well angled, firm back line little too much length but having correct slight rise over the loin. Good chest depth, and body with substance and depth, ribs well sprung back to longer loin with a slight tuck. Very attractive silver coat, nice presentation and condition with lighter silver feathering and furnishings to belly and legs. Short legs with enough bone and muscled rear with strong quarters and hocks. Well handled to get the best from her but not putting a great deal into her action.

OB (3, 1)

1 Tobijanski's Janski Ultra Violet. Very attractive on the stance. A pretty 6 year old with relatively long slightly arched skull, head of correct balance. High set triangular ears, well hung down, brown expressive eyes, slight stop, black spongy nose lovely light silver furnishing to brows and beard. Strong elegant neck into well laid shoulders with firm back line with slight rise. Long tail well set, held and carried. In super body and ribbed back with short loin, good chest and body depth with substance. Super sheen to silky clipped silver coat, excellent presentation with lighter silver long feathering to belly line. Short well boned and feathered legs, well padded round feet. Hindquarters well developed and muscled with straight hocks. Stylish mover with good brisk action, rear drive and sound front reach.

2 Thomson, Forbes & Parkin's Karenbrae Dontshut Me Out. Looks good on the stance. Head of good length skull little broader needing little more arching. Dark eyes, defined stop, blunt muzzle well furnished beard and brows over eye. Elegant but slightly shorter neck to well laid shoulder into firm topline with slight rise over loin to well set long tail. Angulated front and rear with good depth of chest and body with enough substance and strength, sprung ribs well back into short loin. Muscular thighs and straight hocks well padded round feet. Well presented silky dark grey blue clipped coat with good feathering to belly and legs. At first a little hesitant but once into her stride moved out well with drive and forward reach.

VB (2)

1 Burrage's Vandell Sweet Song Of Sametova. This is an impressive bitch on the stance and equally nice to go over. At 12 years old I would not expect the performance this bitch gave today she looks to be returning to the prime of her life. I have judged her before but today she seems to have come into her own. Lovely outline on the stance being of correct rectangle length to her short well boned legs. Pretty long slightly arched skull into balanced foreface with slight stop between her dark expressive eyes, blunt muzzle with black spongy nose, bearded muzzle and eye brows. Elegant muscular neck holding head proudly, well angulated front with depth to chest and straight well boned short legs. Body under a firm backline with slight rise over her loin, sprung ribs and short muscular loin and hindquarters with nicely carried long tail. Beautiful sheen to clipped dark brown jacket, nice long feathering on belly line and legs, very well handled to get the best from her a stylish very sound mover great drive and brisk forward action. BCC and BOS Best Veteran and shortlisted in the veteran group.

2 Fewings' Komidion Madrigal. Another stylish bitch now in her ninth year and looking impressive on the stance and in lovely hard condition, of good length of body with short legs well boned. Lovely pretty head well furnished brows and beard, nice slightly arched skull, good length of muzzle blunt end black spongy nose, high set and hung down ears, dark eyes. Proud head carriage on the stance and move, good length of neck well laid shoulders, correct topline and muscular quarters with well set and held tail. Lovely body with enough depth and substance, good depth of chest but not that of 1, elbows well in. Nicely clipped and presented dark grey coat with good sheen with lovely long feathering to belly line and legs. Another who can move out with style just inclined to pull out which spoils her drive and reach.
