DANDIE DINMONT BATH 13 Judge: Mrs E P Hollings BEST OF BREED : 1333 TINSLEY Mrs J G Ch Cloverwood Royal George DANDIE DINMONT JUDGE BATH 13 Dandie Dinmont Terriers PD (0). JD (2) 1 Jacka-Slater’s Pennywave Lone Ranger, 17 months mustard, big expressive eye, pleasingly set, good in skull, strong jaw. A touch long in foreface. Has neck & decent shoulders, ribs are deep & carried well back, front legs are short & strong, with hind a touch longer coupled with developed loin to give the correct topline, goes with positive action out & back with supple side gait, good body & coat give finish. RBD; 2 Milliner’s Xenon Z Roxburka Sun at Millerim, great personality, strong foreface & width of underjaw, with appealing expression, long back with correct loin & croup allowing good set-on. Not in as good coat as winner or just the action on the move. PGD (2) 1 Edwards’ Cloverwood Midnight Blue, pepper, head is masculine with broad skull, correct big well set eye, has domed forehead & shorter strong muzzle with good underjaw, quality bone, well padded round feet, good proportions with depth & flexibility in body. Just not as settled in movement to take him further. Hard crisp coat with silky hair on skull; 2 Hughes’ Maganbar Magic Moment, happy chap with big nose & good foreface, has reach in neck. Just not the balance of leg to depth of 1. Strong loin giving correct topline for the breed. Just not going as well as winner. OD (1) 1 Tinsley’s Ch Cloverwood Royal George, mustard, this chap oozes quality, has the strength, size with cleanness & balance of head to give the outlook that makes one smile, so in keeping with this delightful breed. His silky coat on his broad skull adds to this. The head is held by his strong clean neck, which fits smoothly through his well-laid shoulder. Forelegs are short, well boned, & right down to his round well padded feet, has depth of chest, well sprung ribs, topline rises to developed loin, good width of muscular quarters, coat is put down to perfection, which is to be expected by his expert handlers, footfall is correct with supple ease of action from any angle. A star performer who easily took BD & BOB. An asset to the breed. PB & JB (0). PGB (3) 1 Hughes’ Maganbar Apple Blossom, mustard, feminine with depth, body & substance. Pleasing neck flowing through correct topline, decent presentation. Top coat a touch soft. Went well; 2 Hamilton’s Maganbar Amber Mist over Margham, strength in muzzle & big nose, attentive & of happy disposition. Just not as clean over shoulders & therefore lacks a little reach in front action. OB (3) Two very decent bitches. 1 Morris’ Pennywave Amaryllis, mustard, so well balanced & presented a correct shapely outline with balance throughout, attractive head with strength in skull, clean with good earset & held right, has length of body with correct foreleg, back rises to loin which is muscular with slight fall at croup, allows good tailset & carriage, goes with true action coming & going & holds herself on side action, harsh but not wiry coat. BB; 2 Tinsley’s Cloverwood Sparkling Blue, pepper, good bitch with classic head & ear, has beautiful forehand & bone with leg of correct proportion so she can really reach in front, good length & width & power in quarters, coat is silky on the skull with crisp hard top coat. She seemed to be affected by the intense cold (but so was I!) which just spoilt her outline on the move, but her action could not be faulted so deserved the RBB. PATSY HOLLINGS |
