DANDIE DINMONT JUDGE BOURNEMOUTH 25

What a delight for me to judge Dandie Dinmont Terriers at my first championship show. Thank you to the exhibitors for your entries and trust to judge your wonderful dogs. Sent forward a really nice boy to the group to represent the breed, also a lovely puppy and quality veteran and special beginners. A full set.

Sp Beg (1,0)

1. Kenyon’s Puddockswell Cox’s Pippin. (IKC) Nice young lady, showed a balanced picture. Strong in the jaw and in the neck, just enough rise in the topline. Correct ribbing & loin with well set tail, Good in angulation and very nice on the move. Good coat.

Vet. (1,0)

1. Bainbridge’s Ceilmear’s White Star Beauty. Lovely veteran of nice overall picture. Great topline. Nice feminine head with good proportions and friendly dark eye and low set ears. Excellent fore chest and front legs, and chest well let down.

P (1,0)

1 Mills’ Lairdship Lickity Split. Beautiful puppy and well presented. Good strong head and neck of nice proportions. Well muscled powerful body, good fore chest with good topline, arching over the loin and dropping to nice tail set. Good angulation and his movement showed a well balanced dog with coat of texture. A very bright prospect. BP

J (1,0)

1. France’s Kiti’s Band take the lead to Torbrae Ejw25 (Cze Imp) Big strong and muscular young boy. Lovely topline with balanced curves. Strong in the head, good proportions with good ears and well developed, profuse in top knot. Good reach of neck and good angulation. He can move well but was a erratic in his rear movement today.

1. France’s Kiti’s Band take the lead to Torbrae Ejw25 (Cze Imp) repeat. 2. Mills’ Lairdship Larger Than Life. Good head of nice proportions, with correct expressive eyes, strong neck and good tail set but preferred the topline of 1.

Nice strong neck and well muscled front going into well laid shoulders and well placed elbows. Well proportioned head with strong muzzle, nice top knot and tidy feet.

OD (2,0 )

1. Davies & Kettle’s Bettyhill New Kid in Town. Fabulous looking boy initially and he certainly didn’t disappoint on the move. Moved with drive showing a clean set of rear feet. Lovely typical head of good proportions, nice top knot and ears, followed by nicely placed shoulders and correct topline and tail set. Well presented and handled. BD & BOB

2. Kenyon Ceilmear Close Encounter. Nice head, low set ears. Good angulation and nice topline but moving erratic today.

OB (2,1)

1. Fear’s Laidship Labour of Love. Lovely shaped bitch with strong front and good topline, curves in the right places. Nice feminine head, soft silky hair on top although not a lot of head furnishings. Good angulation front and rear and moved well. BB
