DANDIE DINMONT DARLINGTON 25 Judge: Miss L Sleight DANDIE DINMONT JUDGE DARLINGTON 25 I was thrilled to be asked to Judge and award Challenge Certificates for the first time at one of my local shows. I thank the Committee and my Steward for a fabulous day and for the exhibitors for showing under me. LD 1 Buckley’s Love Lettie Busy Bean. A very handsome dog, who is maturing very nicely. Strong head, with lovely ear placement. Melting expression with a nice dark eye. Strong neck which led into a nice straight front. Depth of chest is developing nicely, good topline and tail set. Well groomed and in good coat. Handled well. (Dog CC) In the challenge won the CC on his movement that gave him the advantage. OD 1 Milton & Kurg’s Ch Barton Dandies Charles Darnay (Imp Esp) Pleasing head, with a good stop. Correct ear placement. Well groomed, but a little short of jacket today. Neck is well set, which led onto strong shoulders. Good topline which he kept on the move. Better coming than going when on the move (RCC) 2 Ness & Nicholson’s Viking Via Calmarlin (Imp Rus) Strongest head of the day, with a beautiful Dandie expression. Very confident mover coming and going. Handled well. Sadly, carrying a little too much condition today, which did not help him with his topline. Well presented coat with good mustard pencilling. VB 1 Allenby’s Ch Wilmit Mildred Potter for Diddimont. Seven-year-old feminine Dandie bitch. Shown in beautiful condition. Nice head with good ear placement. Needs new jacket but can tell the new one is coming through. Kept her topline standing and on the move. Strong drive from her rear movement and handled well. (Best Veteran in breed) 2 Weaving Ir Ch Dentgate Silk Threads. Another seven-year-old bitch. Lovely feminine head with a good stop. Nice spring of ribs and carried her topline well, both standing and on the move. Needs new Jacket. Confident girl in the ring. Preferred the movement of 1st. JB 1 Kurg’s Etsill swannay. 17-month-old. Attractive female head with a good length of neck and a pleasing outline. Nice pencilled jacket. Just had to settle on the grass, but when she did lovely movement coming and going. Good tail set. 2 Poole’s Redgreet Parsley.17-month-old. Good head with a stronger muzzle than first. Very confident Dandie with lots of personality. Nice pepper coat. Chest still developing but good for her age. Lovely straight front which showed on her movement. Stronger coming than going. Preferred the movement of 1st. PGB 1 Milton and Kurg’s Estill Evie. 17-month-old litter sister to my 1st in JB. Well balanced head with good ear set. Strong neck leading into a developing front. Well ribbed. Beautiful flowing mover with drive from the rear. Kept her topline on the move. She pushed hard for the RCC but lost out on maturity. 2 Ness & Nicolson’s Calmarlin State Occasion. Very strong female head with a nice stop and ear placement. Lovely scissor bite. Sadly, carrying too much condition today. Well pencilled jacket. Could do with a little less furnishings on the front legs, as she gave the illusion of being wide in front, though once gone over found to have a nicely developed front. LB 1 Davies, Davies & Kettle’s Calmarlin Menento Vita. Demanding my eye as soon as she walked into the ring. Best female head of the day. Lovely coat with mustard pencilling. Very nice outline which she continued to carry on the move. Did not disappoint on the move with strong front and drive from the rear. Nice tail set which she carried well. (CC and BOB) 2 Kurg’s Estill Swannay. My 1st in JB settled much better on the grass in this class. 3 Russel’s Jollygaze Ursula at Hawkesmill (Imp Aus). OB 1 Allenby’s Ch Diddimont Luna Wuffgood Jw. Beautiful female expression with large dark eye. Strong head. Well developed chest with a nice front. Pleasing reach of drive on the move where she kept her topline. Well presented mustard jacket with correct texture. Won the class on her movement. Very well handled (RCC) 2 Buckley’s Love Lettie Full of Beans. Litter sister of my dog CC winner. Good strength of head with correct bite. Appealing eyes. Handled well. Good spring of ribs and topline which she kept on the move. Lovely bond between handler and dog. 3 Bell’s Cofgodas Beurre D’avalon. Laura Sleight (Bonnybeck)
