FOX SMOOTH JUDGE BELFAST 14

Smooth Fox Terriers

A numerically small entry, decreased more by absentees, which meant a number of classes were uncontested. Two issues were of concern. Some toplines showed quite a dip. Most ears were larger than I would like & carried very much to the side of the head.

PD & JD (0).

PGD (1)

1 Larmour’s Coolmore The Pretender No What, powerfully built. Good legs & feet. Good hind action. Perhaps could carry ears a little better.

LD (1)

1 Nichols’ Zetamaz Gossip Column, still fairly immature but promising type. Moved well behind. Would like a little more strength of foreface.

OD (5)

1 Thornton & Bebbington’s Fr Ch Graindebeaute du Manoir Saint Adrien, won the strongest class of the day on his overall construction & balance. Powerfully built dog with plenty of bone & body. I felt he was the best mover in the class. CC;

2 Grant, Griffiths & Hemming’s Zlatan I de la Rosa, a very promising youngster giving away a lot of age to the winner. Pleasing head & expression. Sound mover. Needs to body up a little more & could perhaps have a slightly better topline. RCC;

3 Schoneberg’s Konrad V D Schonen Bergen.

PB (3,1a)

1 Nichols’ Zetamax She’s Snow Angel, stylish youngster. Good bone. Neat feet. Strong hindquarters with good turn of stifle. BP;

2 Renshaw’s Saredon Portrait Of Jenny with Westbank, better ears than most today. Needs to body up to complete the picture.

JB (1)

1 Z She’s Snow Angel.

PGB (1)

1 Stewart’s Nimuar Aiyna of Druvon, pleasing head. Good bone. Tight feet. Could perhaps have moved a little better behind.

LB (1)

1 Thornton & Bebbington’s Glendraterra Suzi Kew, nicely made bitch. Well-sprung ribs. Demonstrated good reach when moving. RCC. OB (3,1) 1 Dams & Meier’s Mystick V D Schwedenschmitte, stood out here today for her outline & balance. More bone than several. Nice spring of rib. Good bone. Better topline than most. Moved soundly. CC & BOB;

2 Larmour’s Ir Ch Rockenhart Veronica, larger bitch with plenty of bone. Underlying sound construction but could carry less weight to advantage.
